For the most part they do a good job if it's not complicated. However, I have had 2 pairs of pants…read morethat they have ruined. One was a pair of pants that needed to be taken in from a waist size 31 to a 27. They took out the back part of the waistband and added elastic. There was no elastic in the waistband. They looked horrible, I am unable to wear them or sell them. Another pair of pants just needed to be taken in a little. This pair there is elastic in the back waistband. Their stitches are not even. They don't bother to clean up after they're finished sewing so there's excess thread all over the pants. I did not notice these issues until much later so I wasn't able to return the garment for them to fix but at this point I don't want them to handle them again.

Some of the shoes needed new heels put on; others just needed the little heel protectors applied. They saved me so much money by being able to keep my favorite shoes instead of throwing them away. I have been coming to Gem shoe repair for decades. I feel really proud to support a wonderful family-owned, local small business. Clearly the word has gotten out about their good craftsmanship, and now everybody wants to go there. I had to wait a few weeks on my order, but they were totally upfront about that. There's an old saying: "Choose two out of three: quality, time, cost." I'm happy to wait, because the quality of work is great and the cost is reasonable. Thank you, GEM Shoe Repair and Footwear!
