Two Rivers Park may be one of my favorite parks in the Nashville metro area! If you have ever driven on Briley near Opry Mills, then you have seen either the water park or pedestrian bridge, both of which are just a small part of what makes Two Rivers Park such a cool spot! The main draw of Two Rivers for me is the Greenway trails and of course the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Cumberland river and provides gorgeous views and a solid backdrop for a walk. The trails at Two Rivers are some of the most active in the city as at any given time of the day there are folks walking, blading, biking, jogging, etc...I spend most of my time when at the park on the greenway, it's well kept, well maintained, clean and peaceful. Outside of the trails, the park features a skate park, the water park, a golf course and a few other activity based areas. They also have a lot of public space and gazebos you can rent for parties and such. The park is huge, so you can access it from several areas from Briley, McGavock or Shelby Bottoms. The main entrance is just off of Briley, which is where I usually go, as parking is plentiful and it is a good start/stop point when hitting the greenway...plus the pedestrian bridge is right there! I went here looking for a place to take a long walk or run. It was a little confusing to follow and there was a lot of trash lying around. There's a dog park next door so beware if you don't like a lot of dogs. I did get my steps in and saw a beautiful bridge and some water. read more

For reasons I can't remember my two daughters call this Blue Pirate Park and the name has stuck. We've been coming here since they could walk, and it's been a fairly consistent source of drama as well as fun. I've had a guy screaming he was going to kick my ass because my then-6yo told one of his boys to stop bugging her - so, I have no idea what the issue was because while I'm probably a helicopter parent as we all have been forced to be, I was over 10 feet away when the verbal altercation ensued. No idea, guy was red with rage and couldn't even listen to his own kids let alone tell me what he wanted to do about it other than fight. Taught my kiddo several words screaming at me from 30 feet away. Parenting example there. Highly suspect it's because she went up to them to tell them to stop coming over and bothering her, but whatever. Had someone try and get a ride with me and the kiddos, no. I'll make a call for you but sorry your ex left you here, but I'm not a taxi service with my kids in the car. The structures they have on the playground are fun, which is why they keep wanting to come back, but the lack of shade and the high winds have multiple times made it a miserable experience. It's also the place where we had our first drug talk based on what was going on. That was a couple of years ago, and could happen anywhere, just happened to happen here. I generally liked this park for the access to the pedestrian bridge and shelby bottoms, but that's been less of an appeal lately since people seem to be training for the Tour de France and the dog fighting championships of East Nashville. Skate park is cool, glad it exists and pleasantly surprised that they so far have been none of the drama from the last decade. Park feels like it could be a whole lot more without sacrificing anything. If they'd patrol it occasionally and give out trashing-the-park citations I think it would be generally better. Watched several people piling trash over the rim, and this might be more a thing of someone needs to patrol there to empty the trash cans or add more trash cans, I'm not sure. read more

Two Rivers Park is a cool park with a cool bridge that offers some stunning views of a river.the Greenway is definitely a place that I would recommend as a place to bicycle, jog or walk. Tennessee is truly a beautiful place and this park shows that stunning beauty. We eedparks like this to remind us as we build cities that no matter the wonders we can create with steel, we cannot compare with the creation of nature. We went here for the playground and ended up finding 2 different playgrounds. One of the structures was geared to kids 5 and up and the other for younger children. The playground was maintained and there was not trash everywhere. We went here twice and the second day there was a group of people who may or may not have been on illicit drugs. They were in the picnic area, so far enough away from the playground, but something to keep an eye on. read more

I'm on a mission to visit every park in the middle TN area. Two Rivers was the latest stop. It's pretty cool. The best part is the bridge which in and of itself is cool but which as a bonus offer beautiful views. The trails here are paved and easy to walk or bike. There's a skate bowl/park and a free wave pool if either of those things are your thing. read more

PLAYGROUNDS (& skate park): These are HARD TO FIND via Google maps! Put "Wave Country" into your gps and the playground is in sight! The playgrounds are across a main road from the golf course and dog park. One playground has padded ground and the other (across the parking lot) has wood chips and is more for toddlers, has swings. Lots of paved walking/biking paths here too, though they are very hilly in some sections. Many pavilions with lots of picnic tables. Gorgeous, green grass all around. read more

Founded in 1966 as the first park in the Donelson area, Two Rivers Park has 375 acres, a playground, public restrooms, picnic shelters, a dog park, baseball fields, tennis courts, a disc golf field, a skate park, a spray park, a golf course, paved walking/jogging paths, a lake, a preserved plantation historic home, a 15 mile greenway trail, a greenhouse, and finally- the Wave Country water park. That's a LOT of amenities. The property was owned by the estate of Ms. Bransford McGavock for $995,000, having been in the McGavock family since pioneer days. The land was used for public recreation out of generosity of the McGavocks through the late 1800s and early 1900s. It's pretty gorgeous! The biggest hesitation I'd have in this park is the fact that it is adjacent to McGavock High School, so I'd wonder what to expect in regards to the high school's use of the facilities during the school year. With COVID in full swing, it was a moot point on this particular visit. But, almost anything you can imagine doing at a park- you can do here. read more

Beautiful park between Opry Mills where I stopped for a bit to catch my wind after walking through the mall. There's the only skate park in Nashville, a huge parking lot and a few ball fields. Of course, there are also the huge wave pools, but those generally aren't open in December. Sadly, I didn't have time to tour Two Rivers Mansion. Do walk the greenway to the lovely pedestrian bridge! read more

Sunday, May 18th, Tony and I decided to go for a walk after "Pigging Out" at Five Points Pizza ( our favorite ). So, we parked at Two Rivers Parking lot near the Wave Country Pool and locked the van, taking off on our trek on the Greenway. You are walking on a great paved walking path but be careful..the bikers and skaters also use this pathway...and the bikes are flying sometimes...saw a few almost collisions The path takes you through two small tunnels underneath the roadway above and opens out onto a large lovely bridge across the river. I was able to take some lovely photos of the Cumberland River below. After our hike across the river way, we went around the park area. There are picnic tables and shelters, but NO GRILLS. There are two large fun playground areas for the kiddies, bathrooms, a golf course, wave pool and disc golf course..this is a sport we are thinking about taking up. Looks like fun!!! But, I need to learn rules..at least it would be exercise and a great way to get some sunshine on this white body.. I liked this park. Great parking lot, very large. Great place for an outdoor birthday party. Also one of my favorite things, FREE to use..except for the wave pool and golf..you have to pay for that, but the greenway, playground and picnicking is free...There are also some skate board jumping areas aka Skate Park for the kids.. There was a lot of skaters there of various ages and bike riders. It was fun to watch..again Free..many parents there tailgating in the parking lot...Looks like a lot of fun for the kids..but there was some mid 20 and mid 30's also using the skating park area, so not just kids ONLY !!! read more

Today was my first time walking down the greenway trail and I loved it! It was very hot outside but it was worth seeing the nature and being able to relax. There is a lot of parking when wave country is not full. I will be coming back soon because this park is beautiful and well maintained ! read more

My son enjoyed the skate park. Couple visits now. Park seems unpopular except for skate park at night. Surprised wave pool isn't more of an attraction due to close proximity to Opry Mills. read more

This park is beautiful and well kept with a lot to offer. I wish I could find a map of the trail to know if it loops all together or not. I couldn't find one online either. I didnt want to find out on foot, so I'll definitely be bringing my bike next time. read more

This is a really nice park. We come here for the dog park almost every day. Our dog just loves it and gets some of his energy out. It's really muddy after it rains but that's ok. The people that we've met so far have been nice as well. Our dog is starting to know where we are going when we get closer. read more

This is a pretty nice park. It has a walking trail and it has a skate boarding area which is pretty cool. It's a pretty clean park as well.

Two Rivers Park is located by McGavock High School. It's surrounded by the football field, McGavock High School's softball field, and the school itself. This park is not meant for competitive softball. The fences are very close and one field has a light pole several feet inside of the fence. Midstate Sports Leagues runs their softball leagues through this complex and they also host a few tournaments there. Generally, the fields are not in great shape. The league works hard to make them playable in the rain and do seem to take care of the infield. However, the outfield is poor and riddled with ruts and lots of clover. The fences have to be 270 feet or closer on average. In some spots, they probably aren't more than 250 feet away. This can be a fun park for a very recreational league or tournament. However, the big boys need to play at a different complex. read more

Cool skatepark here if that's your thing! I love that there's trees in the middle of it to keep you cool in the summer. There's also a nice greenway that runs right along here that connects to Shelby bottoms/ Shelby Park. If you go down the hill you will run into a pedestrian bridge that runs over the river. It's pretty out there and a convenient drive from downtown. Definitely recommend checking out this area for a nice day out adventure! read more

Pretty lame "park", quite frankly, and mainly just a parking lot and entry point for Shelby Bridge unless you skate, play frisbee golf, or have a game here. read more
