It improved my focus immensely. An example of this is learning the tornado round house kick. To learn the kick, you must master all of the steps. Another example is learning the Deputy Black Belt form. The Deputy Black Belt form is very complex and requires a lot of skill and effort. The instructors at USTA also deserve some credit. I may joke around sometimes but they are always getting straight to the point and always teach us everything we need to know. They show us some tricks and skills we can learn. Taekwondo also has taught me to show effort and be consistent by making me go to at least 3 classes a week and if I don't show effort then that means I have to do more pushups. I have also learned to show respect because every time we do a drill, we must show respect to our partner. Another skill I have learned from taekwondo is how to be a leader. I have learned this skill from taekwondo by leading in the warmups. This skill is important because if you don't know how to talk with confidence, then you won't be a good speaker. Being a good speaker is important because it could help you in the future with your job or maybe doing a speech. As you can see, taekwondo has taught me many important skills for that will also help me in my life and it has also taught me how to show respect to others. Finally, earning a Black Belt at USTA makes me very proud because of all of the work I have put in and I can't wait to get my Black Belt!

It's not just a belt to me - it is a symbol of all the hard work, and determination I've put in over the years. When I first started, I didn't know much about martial arts. I had a lot of admiration for the higher belts and the black belt students who I saw during belt promotions. But as I continued training, I realized it's about way more than just impressive moves. At USTA, they teach us to be strong not only on the outside, but on the inside too. I had to learn discipline, respect, and how to stay focused even when things get hard. We tried this for a month, after the 1st month, after the child gets used to the classes (which seems to be over crowded) they hit you with all that I mentioned above. Maybe it's me... it seems like these this is a Unethical way if doing business. I could understand if they were upfront and honest from the beginning. Now, on to cost as referred to by some other reviewers. Yes, it's expensive. However, you get to go to an unlimited number of classes so you get out of it what you put in. If you go once a week, you'll get once a week value. If you go more, then you'll get more for your investment and see a faster development of skill. Every business can improve, and Tiger Rock is not immune to benefit from a tweak here or there. For example, they really need to pro-rate months like December when they're closed for two weeks. took me a while to finally write a review! read this for a genuine review from a former decade long…read moremember here. i was with the white tiger family for a very long time, went from white belt to a 2nd dan black belt here and then went off to do tkd at the collegiate level afterwards. i think the best part of white tiger overall for me has always been the people there. just such caring instructors and staff and some of my best friends (even to this day), have been made on the mat. also, some of the most fun trips i've ever done have come out of taekwondo too, from new york, austin, seattle, and miami to the kukkiwon headquarters in korea. so many experiences come from the tournaments and detours you'll take as a tkd athlete in life. in general, white tiger has always excelled in teaching poomsae (tkd forms) as well as in tkd demonstration. it's also a very well connected school in terms of the broader network of tkd schools and masters. as such, there's lots of opportunities to participate in fun tournaments and events and really level up your skills. i genuinely think it's worth it for anyone interested to give it a shot and, who knows, it might just become one of the most memorable things you do in your life. just like it was for me! :)

We were not communicated that the child had to be dropped there and parents can't even see them perform at practice. This is such an important piece of information that should have been communicated. We took our entire family for this and had planned out the day accordingly.
