Authentic and incredibly delicious Cuban food! I've had Cuban food in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando and this place could give Central and South Florida establishments a run for their money. Ordered takeaway Cuban sandwiches and A Taste of Cuba dinner to bring home to my Cuban in-laws; sorry to say that the food won't make it to their house. Best seasoned pork I've ever tasted and the black beans and rice are just as delicious. The Cuban sandwiches are perfectly stacked with meat, cheese and pickles. Lake City is a bit of a drive but when something this good comes along you just have to do it!

People were super nice I got a meat empanada but I didn't have enough time to take a picture because I devoured it asap

Great food hands down. Plus they make you feel like you're part of the family as soon as you walk in.

Food poisoning wasn't on the menu, but that's exactly what I got. Sending someone to get me a Cuban sandwich was a mistake

Uno de los mejores sandwiches cubanos. Son muy atentos. La señora que nos atendió nos regalo colada ya que nos ibamos en un road trip.

Open quote: "I came…read morein and I asked for a regular coffee. Ricardo, the owner of Ricardo's Bakery, asked me "what is a regular coffee?". I said "Just plain coffee, not espresso or latte". He understood what I meant and made me a delicious coffee. I had a ham n cheese empanada (baked). It tasted really good for breakfast because it wasn't greasy. I should have gotten a second one. I got a Media Noche, the sandwich had really good flavor and the bread was really sweet. The meat inside the sandwich was thick cut, which I am not used to having in a Cuban sandwich but it was very delicious. I liked the little crispy fries to eat with the sandwich. Finally, I got a guava/cheese pastelito which was good as well".

So happy to finally have a family owned Cuban Cafe in our small town of Lake City. I always order a…read more strong Cafe con Leche with a Guava Pastry. We also enjoyed their breakfast option on Media Noche bread. Its a sweeter bread than the traditional cuban bread they use for sandwiches. Also if they have them in the case you must order the fried Yucca that is stuffed with meat and cheese. Just an FYI the sandwiches might take a little while, especially if they have other customers inside. So be sure to come here for breakfast if you have the time wait. If not you can always get pastries to go. There is also an assortment of desserts, from flan cheesecake to a cookie butter cake to try.

I got the big container to-go, and I am glad I did; it's two good meals!! The curry chicken was cooked to PER FEC TION!!!!!!!!! So tender and juicy, and the curry flavor was on point, and the rice was from a dream! I mean this food is amazing!! You know so much love was put into it!! She was unwelcoming and acted like we were inconveniencing her just by being there. The food was mediocre at best. The rice was bland and the pork was dry and hard. Nothing else we ate stood out but I would have considered giving this place another chance to try other items on the menu but after the way we were treated i have no interest in returning.

However, I came in on a Tuesday evening, and unfortunately, my experience with our server, Esteban, was very uncomfortable. When we first sat down, he did not come over to ask what we would like to drink. Instead, he stood there and stared at me very awkwardly for about a minute, which made me feel very uncomfortable. After he eventually brought our drinks and food, he did not come back to check on us for almost two hours. Then, right as he saw that we were getting ready to leave, he came over to take our payments. He did not say anything or clarify whether we were splitting the check. He went directly to my friend and had her pay, and we later realized that she had paid for both of us. At that point, it was already very late, so we did not complain or say anything. However, I truly felt uncomfortable throughout the entire experience. It was not just the lack of checking on us, but also the fact that he barely spoke to us, never communicated with us, and never made any effort to make us feel welcomed or comfortable during our visit. I want to emphasize that I have never been treated this way at Mi Apa before, which is why it is unfortunate that I feel the need to bring this to your attention. I have always had a positive experience here, so I hope this feedback can be helpful in some way. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for hearing me out. I hope this helps in any way.
