Whether you are making the excuse personally or just passing along the company rep's reply to you as an answer, it is still just an excuse made to a customer who spent almost $100 on a service that the organization you represent failed to provide. And you not only failed to provide that service, you failed to live up to the spirit of your guarantee. You have no idea how important it was for me to get that letter to the recipient's desk first thing in the morning on Monday. If I could have just gotten into their mail room by Monday, I still would have had a chance. But now, all those possibilities are gone. Consider the fact that i spent $100 to mail a letter! Don't you think that must have been important? And all you guys had to say was, "maybe, it'll get there on time." I could have considered my options. That's what FEDEX did. They told me up front they couldn't get there by Monday, and they even suggested you guys. They gave me directions and everything AFTER I called your store and asked if you could deliver it on time; your system said you would come through. You could have just said, there's a chance. But to promise?? And then turn around and tell me that I am too late to ask for a refund??? Too late by how much - a day??? You mean like how late you guys were with my letter???!!! Exxxx, you, your store, and UPS itself have not only lost a customer. You have managed to make me an advocate against ever considering your services for anything at all, UPS related or otherwise. And I will actively encourage anyone or any group I come across who even thinks about using UPS and/or your store to do otherwise. My experience with them recently tells me that they are trustworthy, offering high quality services where no other business is able to. Back in September of 2025, my fiancé and I had set our wedding date for December 26, 2025. In order to get married, I was required to provide two apostilled documents: (1) No Record of Marriage Certificate and a (2) No Record Certificate from New York State. These documents arrive to the Department of State on October 4th. I made an online inquiry as to their status on 11/14/25. To this date, more than two months later from the date these documents arrived, I have neither received them back, nor heard back concerning their status. When I thought I had done all I could to get my documents apostilled, I gave up, and started accepting what I thought was only reasonable to accept-- that I would not get married on December 26th. But my fiancé encouraged me to try to find another way to get these documents. All this time, I had been avoiding going through an apostille agency for economic reasons.  I called a local apostille business to get estimates for an expedited apostille process. The UPS Store and another agency that provides services to New York City both quoted me for at least a 2-3 week wait at a high cost. The business in NYC told me that because I was not a local, they could not provide me with an expedited 2-3 day service, as their website boldly stated with no qualifications. On 12/04/25, I called The Notary Seal. I first spoke with a kind female rep who had me fill out a quick form to get an estimate. That evening the CEO called me to understand my situation better. I explained everything to him over the phone. I told him that I was on a budget but needed their services. He told me that their was a way to get the apostilles I needed in time for my deadline (13-15 days before the wedding-- when the docs were supposed to reach their international address). He offered me an excellent discount, and provided a pricing estimate the next morning. He explained that if we acted fast, it was possible for the documents to reach their destination by Thursday 12/11/25 (today). Because he was not aware that I was sending them to a foreign address, he estimated their arrival for 12/11. Regardless, they arrived to their final "FedEx destination facility" as of this morning. Suffice it to say, The Notary Seal has more than delivered on their promises. My documents were supposed to arrive to my home today, but instead, they arrived to their final destination by the originally estimated date. The Notary Seal comes highly recommended by me. Living in a rural area, this isn't as straightforward as it might seem at first glance. I first called our local library (9 miles away), and learned that they provide FREE notary services with appointment but can't provide witness signatures. I then called our local bank (8 miles away). Notary services were not listed as an offered service on their website, and I wasn't able to get through to a live person on their phone in spite of two calls. I then found this UPS store on-line, which suggested that we would be able to get notary services, needed signature witnesses, and mail the documents. Given that the store is 21 miles (43 minutes) from home, I called to ensure that this was the case. We were informed that they could indeed perform all of these services, and were invited to make an appointment online. We were able to easily get our preferred date/time (the following morning) online. We received an immediate email confirmation, as well as a reminder the following morning. The shop was easy to find, and had sufficient parking. Being the holiday season, the shop was busy with patrons sending packages, but the line moved quickly as the shop was well-staffed. The notary served us as soon as we reached the front of the line, in spite of the fact that we were a few minutes early for our appointment. He was efficient in performing his duties and in getting the witness signatures. Our final cost was $40 -- $10 x 2 ($20) for notarizing our two signatures and $5 x 4 ($20) for two witness signatures each. I wish that it were somewhat less expensive, but this seems to be the going rate in central Virginia at businesses. We put the completed documents into our already-prepared envelope (which included prepaid mailing, and turned it over to UPS for delivery. We were given a tracking number, and we are able to see that the documents have already reached our regional distribution center. So, overall, a very good experience at this shop as we were able to complete what we needed to do at one stop -- and it was done quickly and correctly.
