Disrespectful Email from owner

Re: Owner's comment: Clearly you don't care what parents said or what coaches said. The young coaches were manipulated by Misty's bad management on what they dare to say. I've still keeping in touch some former coaches who had left your business - they said the same to me. On your response, previously Misty and you said her age was the issue, but now you're changing to say she's running around and not following instructions - excuse me? can you guys at least be consistent??? She attended class with zero support from me and did all the postures the teacher instructed. Misty is not even at the class, where do you see her running around? Also it's me who terminated the contract, not you, due to the disrespectful written msgs from you- I've saved all email evidence (happy to post screenshots). Good luck with you running the business this way! Original review: My husband and I would like to give a 5-star to the former office director Jonathan, and former coaches such as Joanna, Kyle, and many other excellent ones who have since left the company. We had a great experience working with them. However, we had a very negative experience with the new office director, Misty, and the owner. Our daughter has been part of the Tiny Twisters program for 1.5 years. This class includes kids as little as 15 months or as old as 4 years, and requires parents' participation. I am sharing our experience here for parents seeking continuous skill improvement for their little ones. Our daughter has consistently been a high performer, and the coaches who taught her always asked her to demonstrate various postures to her classmates due to her mastery of those skills. After receiving a high score in her Apr-23 exam, Coach Joanna suggested I should consider moving her to the next level once she reaches the age of 3, since my daughter already mastered all skills required at her current level. Following Joanna's departure, I spoke with Director Misty to inquire about the criteria for moving kids up and sought advice to help transition my daughter to the next level. Misty clarified that levels are skill-based (not age-based) and suggested reducing my participation and support during class. Since then, I have informed her coaches that I would maintain low participation in class, and my daughter, who has no issues following instructions, receives little to no support from me. She also attended courses independently (with no parent participation) at other schools. In her Oct-23 exam, her coaches immediately informed me after class that my daughter passed all skill tests and was ready to move up. They assured me that Misty would contact me in a few days to confirm the leveling up. I even confirmed with 1 of the coaches again that my daughter got moved up, and I discussed with the coach about new class selections. After waiting for almost a week without any updates from Misty, I reached out to Misty via email. To my surprise, Misty stated that my daughter couldn't move up, citing as "It is a big jump for some kiddos to go from lots of support to total independence". This was surprising Misty had never coached my daughter and had no knowledge of her performance, plus my participation has always been zero to low during class. After expressing my concerns via email, I received no response from Misty until my daughter's next class. During that class, I raised the issue with the owner, who suggested having my daughter try the next level's class on the spot. The new coach confirmed that my daughter performed well and was ready for the next level. The owner promptly updated my daughter's level to the next level of class in the system. Additionally, during that class, my daughter's former coaches revealed that Misty had been the one preventing her from moving up, asserting that Misty thought her age of 3.5 was the issue as she had not yet reached the age of 3.75. Surprisingly again, Misty emailed me after a few days, stating that she needed more observations of my daughter and wanted to assess her personally. Without any communication, she unilaterally moved my daughter from the upper-level class to the lower level in the system, which we found unprofessional. Frustrated with all these back-and-forths, I emailed back to Misty and the owner, presenting the facts and evidence and urging them to cross-validate with the 3 coaches. Unfortunately, the owner perceived me as a troublemaker and said "he was doing me a favor". He refused to acknowledge any miscommunication from Misty and wrote to me " "you've consistently pushed to disregard our professional assessment and the coaches have disregarded it to appease you. We haven't heard an apology from you." In light of this, we decided to end the conversation and requested a refund. Over the past few days, my husband and I brought our daughter to 2 new gymnastic schools for evaluation, and our daughter was admitted into much more advanced classes compared to Tiny Twisters' program.

Our 3 year old princess has been attending Twisters Gymnastics for about 6 months now and LOVES it!!!! We are SO GLAD to have found this place! Coach Joanna is so sweet, patient and super fun! Our daughter loves her so much and looks forward to her class all week! The whole staff is very sweet and friendly. Our daughter can be very shy but they always make her feel very welcomed and they know how to engage with little ones in a sweet manner. The establishment is so clean, organized and safe. Can't say anything enough good things! We are just so grateful to be part of Twisters Gymnastics.

I can't speak of how normal gymnastics class is here, but we booked for a party for my son. Place is well maintained and clean. Coach Misty was their instructor and they all had a great time on the open floor. During the party, there was also a jumpy house set up. Our group had kids all ages and that worked out just fine. Party room was clean and everything went smoothly. We did go over our time because everyone had so much fun and didn't want to leave! Thanks for making us feel welcome, Misty!

Ask the Community - Twisters Gymnastics

Hi, Do you have a website? I'm trying to find schedule for my daughter. Thanks

www.TwistersSportsCenter.com

I see mention here of a "Single Day Class." How do I sign up for such a single-date class for my 4-year old?

Single day classes must be requested via email, text, or in person. Unfortunately, Single Day Classes cannot be enrolled into n the Customer Portal. It must be done by us, manually. We hope that helps.

Is there a trial available for 3.5 year old?

Twisters Gymnastics offers Single Day Classes (One Class) and Monthly ongoing enrollment (4 classes minimum).

Do you offer winter camp for pre-K (4 year olds)?

Yes. Twisters offers Preschool Camp (Little Twisters Camp) for kids 3 to 5 years of age from 9am to 12pm. Kids must be potty trained. Parents / Guardians provide snack(s).

What's the schedule of full day summer camp and do kids need to bring their own lunch ? How many kids maximum (coach : kids ratio) during same timeframe ? Thanks?

Twisters schedule compromises of 20 minute rotations that include warmup, gymnastics instruction on apparatus, free play, games, and snack breaks. For children attending the full day camp, a forty minute lunch break occurs at 12pm. Our ratios are… Read more

Do you have classes for adults?

There isn't much fun stuff to do in Palo Alto if you're a tiny tot, but this place seemed like it was created for the little ones! Would highly rec if you are in Palo Alto for a day and want to bring your young child somewhere. There are different parts to this - a museum, and also a mini zoo. The museum has all sorts of fun activities, similar to the Bay Area Discovery with building blocks, magnets, trains, cars, tops, etc. The mini zoo is also quite fun with a variety of animals, although not many. The quality of the animals was great, though. They had a feeding hour for the Flamingos when I was there, and although my toddler was not interested, it seemed like the staff stayed for the whole hour, and made sure that anyone who wanted to do it had a chance to do so. Other animals there included a free-roaming peacock! The only draw here is that it's a little small, compared to a real zoo, or a real museum such as the Bay Area Discovery Museum, or the California Academy of Sciences. That being said, the price for this museum was quite reasonable, at $14 per person over 1 year old. Even for the 1.5 hours I was there, I thought it was well worth it! Free parking too. If in the area, I'd definitely stop by again.

Fun fun fun fact seriously try to sit with all adults as if you ride with kids even if they are behind you both share the same lap bar so if one closes it on you it's really right even for me! There are a few seat belts and the one that attaches to the bar to make it just that much tighter on you so don't forget about that little thing because you know you want it on! Once you've been strapped down to the car you try going and that's when you realize this whole becoming restrained part was totally worth it as you find yourself riding heavy down this radical wooden coaster like I said it rides heavy but you don't feel it as the whole ride is very smooth and just awesome coaster ride in it's own way which makes me kinda forget that I've been strapped down to the car the whole review through! One thing I've noticed at the park over the several few Grizzly rides is that the time of the ride opening seems to be later after the park is already open for a busy minute so plan accordingly! Overall awesome coaster for anyone but like I said don't ride with the kids if you don't have to!

Birthday girl had a great time exploring, playing and eating. The team were so easy to work with from the email correspondence on my Cinnamoroll themed table vision to day of set up. The staff were super quick & accommodating when they were assisting me with the set up. They helped me string up and put a HBD banner and set up my little one's high chair and way more like help bring stuff in, stock the drink fridge, set out the pastries, etc. They just knew what to do & did it straight away. I was amazed by the speed and professionalism! If only I had this level of set up at every birthday party. Barely any dictation or answering questions was needed. This establishment opened its doors back in 1961 and I have fond memories of visiting here on elementary field trips. I now get to make new ones with my toddler.... Being born and raised in the East Side, I am ashamed to admit that it took for my daughter to go on her 1st Pre-K fieldtrip to officially experience Happy Hollow. To my defense, there were covid worries swirling around her first few years of life and being a first time mom, staying in just seemed like the safer bet. LMAO- tell me I'm not the only one who felt this way?? Since then, we have made 2 trip with her school and a few random visits on the weekends. I can confirm that my 6 year old is absolutely a fan. Here you will find: a zoo, rides, puppet theater, large play structure, & petting zoo. The zoo is quite small and although it is listed as having 60 different species, I don't find that number as being accurate. I caught wind of a new red panda being welcomed here but there was no sign of him. To be honest, a lot of the enclosures seemed empty whenever we visit. The rides are great for kids- they compliment younger kids due to the lack of speed. The puppet theater is always enjoyed- no only does it provide entertainment but it gives you a break from being on your feet. The play structure is always a crowd favorite where all the kiddos can run wild and free. [[Parents, this is your time to re-fuel with some much needed caffeine.]] Last but not least, our favorite-EST thing to do here is visiting the petting zoo where you are able to interact with goats and sheep. They unfortunately got rid of quarter machines allowing visitors to feed the animals. My child can literally spend hours here brushing and cuddling up with the animals- my only advice is watching where you step because these creatures will relieve themselves without warning. 4 stars. Be advised that parking is an additional $10 prior to you even purchasing passes to enter the park.
