A great find if you are in the area and wanting pizza. Food was fantastic. We visited during a very slow time so the place was pretty empty so didn't really get a good sense of what they have to offer but overall we had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to stop again if in the mood for pizza! read more

Taco pizza was really good! Got it to go and even with the drive home it tasted great. Lettuce and tomato came separately in a to go salad container along with spicy sour cream sauce so they didn't "cook" on the drive home. Highly recommend!! read more

I'd give this six stars if I could--five stars for everything plus a sixth star for surprise--I was *not* expecting to find anything nearly this amazing for several hundred miles. One of the best wood-fired pizza crusts I've ever tasted, plus amazingly fresh toppings. (Someone else on Yelp mentioned that the sausage is local, so I ordered it and it's delicious.) Beer list is very good with lots of Nebraska (and neighboring state) options on tap and in bottle with a variety of styles represented (several browns, too, which are my faves). Few people will likely ever have a reason to be in Rushville, but if you're anywhere within a hundred miles, plan a food (and beer) stop here! read more

I LOVE LOCAL PLACES!!! This was a treat. Not only did they have some decent beer options on tap and bottle, but the service was off the charts. My friend and I chatted with the owners who were solid down to earth people that you just had to fall in love with. We were so hungry and literally came here because the options were few, but left with a smile and appreciation for good people and hard work. We ordered the Meat pizza...wait...firewood stove pizza! It was really tasty and really good. It was even cute for the eyes. All I can say is honestly, I'll be back and I'd recommend you come and see what hard work and local love can do to a place! Possibly one of the coolest spots in the panhandle! Modern ambiance with rustic flair... love all of the touches (be sure to check out one of the COOLEST ceilings fans ever) and the owner was kind enough to share some fun stories on how everything came about. The food was delicious and filling. We were ambitious with the large taco pizza, but took it back to the hotel and crushed it for breakfast the next day. A delightful stop during our weekend in Western Nebraska. Well worth the stop if you're ever in the area. read more

Brick oven stove, great atmosphere, smiles on employees faces and you feel like family by the owners. Wonderful selection of beer, decor Is great. Love waking in and seeing two working windmill fans on the ceiling. Always had a 5 star experience, pizzas are completely customizable and their "small" salads are amazing. Who knew a pizza place in a town of 850 could be this AMAZING!!! Wood-fired pizza that you create yourself from the toppings list. Small $8.00 or large $16.00. Sausage comes from the meat plant up the street. There's a couple of salads if you're not in the mood for pizza (or to add to it!). Some nice beers on tap. Full bar. Local (Nebraska) flavored whiskey-choose from lemon or cinnamon. Both were fun. Courtney and family own and run the place and it's just what this town (and any town in any state) needs!! Wish it was closer to RENO so we could be regulars but will hit it again before we go home this trip. Glad my Mom is a resident so we can come visit and will look forward to amazing pizzas each and every time we're here!! read more

This is a wonderful local entrepreneurial establishment with very good wood fired pizza and a wonderful assortment of beers. Today we had 16" inch pizza and 2 8" pizzas. The meat and cheeses were great. The wood smoke from the oven is a delightful aroma! Love this place! read more

Driving through and found this spot because of Yelp so we figured we'd give it a try and we were hungry. The menu is limited to pizzas, their specialty pizzas and salad. We were greeted by Sharmaine who is sweet and extremely attentive. Pizzas are prepared in a wood burning pizza oven! For such a small town this place would fit anywhere in a larger city with its decor!!! We'll make it a point to stop when we're in the area! read more

Being a city slicker, the Twisted Turtle in Rushville is (and I mean this in the most respectful way possible) literally in the middle of nowhere. I drove for what seemed like hours through nothing but grassy plains, when up popped a set of grain silos, a high school football field, and a deserted Main Street. But, step into the Twisted Turtle, and you'd think you were in any city or suburb anywhere in the U.S. The decor is exposed brick, with a bar on one side, a small wood-fired pizza oven near the back, and scattered tables throughout. The wait staff was really friendly and speedy with our drink orders. The pizzas took a little longer, but that's because they're all freshly made in the oven. Everyone in our group got the 'small' 8" personal pizzas with different toppings. The prices are inexpensive - an 8" pizza with up to 5 toppings for $8. Not bad at all. The dough was chewy and just lightly charred from the oven. The cheese was gooey and well balanced with the sauce, and the toppings sat proudly atop the pie, waiting to be eaten. Deeeelicious! And it went really well with the beer that I ordered. Overall, a very restful, relaxing dinner. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone passing through Rushville. read more
