I absolutely love this place! Classes can be a little steep in price if you do a drop in. It's better bang for your buck to do a bundle of 10 classes. It's easy to book classes on your phone as they have an app and reward system! Hip hot heat is one of my favorite classes! The yoga is great but the pricing is very high. I also signed up for a "special" thinking I was getting a discount butttt turns out it was actually $600 for 6 months and if you wanted to cancel a $200 fee! Twisted has been a great studio and the owner adapted to COVID well in April of 2020 and her loyal patrons like me stuck with her. The instructors are  for the most part very good. The owner is not concerned with her loyal customers any longer.  With the COVD Delta variant and the rise of COVID cases in the greater GR area she  will no longer be streaming her live classes.  Her solution is very narrow and costly with classes on demand.  Her announced price is $50 per month. This is more than twice the price of other on demand yoga classes that you can find.  Yoga International, Glo yoga, Sky TIng TV, Core Power Yoga and Peloton Yoga all under $20 month.  Only 1 service Modo Yoga had a price higher than Twisted hot yoga. The owner says that electronics do not fair well in a hot and humid environment.  While there is some truth to this, there are simple remedies and some of this is just the cost of doing business.  The owner is NOT interested in trying to find a solution.  She is mostly interested in making a buck. What is truly nice about attending a live class vs an on demand class is that an live class makes you part of community.  You sign up and you are held accountable.   The owner has also reduced her offerings on holiday weekends sometimes not having live classes for an entire weekend. The owner talks that she is ultimately in satisfying customers, but nearest this patron can see, limited if any listening to her customers.   So let me offer what would this patron would like to see. 1st. You cost of on demand pricing is out of market at $50/month.  If someone is only going to use your on demand class, the cost should be inline with the market. $20/month. 2nd.  Continue to offer live classes through the web.  You have several options here: 1) You can invest in better electronics that can deal with heat and humidity 2). Understand that electronics do not last and consider your electronics disposable after x number of uses 3)  You can offer classes outside of your study as you did during the during the peak of the pandemic.  I am sure you can instructor to do this at home.   3rd. Listen to your customers.  Your recent responses show that you are not in touch with your customers and it is truly discouraging. You make decisions on what you want...not on what your customers want. I do not recommend twisted yoga.  Find another option read more

Ashley's morning flow is my absolute favorite thing. She's so patient and doesn't make you feel bad if you can't do a pose. She always reminds you you can d whatever pose feels best or child's pose if you cannot do the one she's teaching. I've been searching for a good yoga instructor for over a year and I struggled with feeling unwelcome not good enough at some yoga classes. Her morning hot yoga has become a norm for me! read more

I'm so excited about this place! I've been to eight classes on a pass for 21 days for $21!!! Update: I bought a 100 class pack for the year and I'm so loving this place! The classes I've been to are Heat, which is hot yoga where the room is 99 degrees, I've had two different instructors for this class and I can't wait to go back. Sweet Heat is a class where it's not as hot as Heat but it's more about balance. Tonight, I went to Yoga with a kick, where the room is 75-80.. And the class is a mix of yoga, kickboxing and stretching. The instructors are all very professional, nice and there is a great variety on their teaching styles. The room is insulated very well and a noticeable difference between the classes. A nice thing at the end of the class they put a cold cloth on your forehead and it smells really good and helps relax at the end of a fantastic workout. I leave this place feeling happy, energized and ready to take on the world. read more

First time experience yoga ‍ since moving Grand Rapids. This place definitely has a welcoming environment. I am excited to go again.

I am currently on their one month-trial, and so far, so good. I've mostly been attending their "Heat" (basically, intermediate-level hot Vinyasa w/ some flow) and "Heat 2" (intermediate-to-advanced hot Vinyasa w/ flow) classes in the morning, usually with instructors Ginya, Amanda, or Wendy. All of their instructors are professional and helpful and their classes are very intense (in a good way). The practice space is calm and relaxing, and sufficiently warm (of course). I especially love that during shavasana, the instructors place cold lavender-infused towels on our foreheads. It's truly a divine, meditative aromatherapeutic experience! A lovely reward to look forward to after an intense hour of hot yoga and definitely one of the best things this place has going. My one and only gripe is that they often play music with words during classes. Their playlists generally consist of relaxing folk songs and popular electronica-rnb-ambient songs. The music isn't bad (in fact, I like most of what they play), but I tend to get quite distracted by song lyrics while I'm trying to focus on my poses or during shavasana. It's really just a difference in taste, but I would just suggest more wordless ambient-style jams or even more ideally, silence. Other than that, they have a good thing going here. It's nearby and I always get a solid workout. read more

I love Twisted. I've used a few different yoga studios in GR and Twisted is still my favorite. The staff and instructors are wonderful. They push you physically without pressuring you to do anything that could hurt you. I never feel judged when I'm trying out new poses. The Bend and Brew classes at Perrin are a great introduction to yoga, and I've taken many friends with me. By far, the best part of Twisted that sets it apart from other studios is that at the end of a class, they put a cold lavender towel on your forehead during savasana. It seriously feels like a reward for your hard work. They do great specials and have many discounted classes you can take to try them out. read more

I think this place restored my faith in yoga humanity. No pretentious attitudes, an owner that works her own front desk and knows your name, bodies of all shapes and sizes, if Ginya gets a locker room I won't ever leave the building. I appreciate this place so much. It's the right size and the right amount of welcoming. The genius behind the lavender towel at the end deserves a Nobel Peace prize for improving mental health city wide. Get your bootie to a mat here you won't be sorry. Namaste already. read more

I've been going to the Hump Day Happy Hour classes and really enjoy them...so much so, that I've had three other people join me from work (and they're repeaters now as well). I love the atmosphere, the instructor, and let's not forget how amazing the lavender scented cold towel at the end of each class is! This is a welcoming and exciting environment! I took the Wednesday drop in class for $5 and plan on doing the 21 days for $21! Megan R. was my teacher and I plan on going to many more classes of hers! I learned a lot in her class, including yoga terms that she said as she was moving us into different poses. I could have kept my eyes closed the entire time because her directions were so clear. The heat is perfect and keeps your body warm and fired up the whole time. One of the best parts was at the end of the class there was a cold towel placed on my head that helped me relax and focus on shavasana. Can't wait to go back! read more

I'm glad I purchased a Groupon to get a feel for their classes. I may be back if I want to mix up my normal routine but I'll probably go to my other spot for actual yoga instruction. Advertised as a hot yoga studio, they offer a variety of aerobic classes with a yoga twist (hence the name???) Right now they are offering "gloga" - yoga in the dark with glow sticks, kick boxing yoga, yoga with hand weights, and a more traditional yoga/stretching class. After going to a few of their classes, I would describe what they offer as an aerobic- stretching/yoga fusion workout. They play fun, current upbeat music during the sessions. The space is simple workout studio painted in calming blue tones. All of the teachers were very friendly and each brought their own style of teaching to the class. With the exception of Laura's class however, the teachers didn't stress yoga form even how to get into a pose. It's more about how it feels to you then the posture itself. I found the instruction from most of the teachers to be spoty probably because of this 'go with the flow' vibe. I had to rely on following other students to figure out what we were doing in class. I tried one of the weights class. I liked the idea of it but as a rather uncoordinated person I found it awkward to use the weights with the moves. Others seemed to get the hang of it quicker and it was the most popular class I visited. After going to other hot yoga studios I would describe Twisted Hot Yoga as warm but not hot. Oh and here's a tip: the heat doesn't circulate well so the back of the class is a good 10 degrees lower than the front. One day I purposefully sat in the back because I didn't want to overdo it. teeheehee read more

I tried Twisted Hot Yoga a couple months ago, and I haven't looked back! I met the owner, Ginya, once and she has remembered my name every time she has seen me after that. I love that the owner is always around, and even teaches some of the classes. There's no judgement, but just enough instruction. I have tried other studios around the area, and some have been awesome. But, Twisted is definitely my favorite. I don't have to fight for a parking spot...I always feel welcome...I always feel challenged...I leave feeling happy and rejuvenated. And I can't say enough about the cool lavender towels they place on your forehead during savasana...pure genius! I have found my yoga home. Namaste :) read more
