While there may be more modern shops in the area, the service provided by John, whom seems to be their lead tech, is second to none. He is knowledgeable, professional and informative. It's clear that the repair portion of the shop is quite busy, he still takes the time to explain what needs to be done and answer all the questions one might have. Another pleasant thing when visiting a new shop is to be confident that you're never being sold things that you don't need. The visits here have left this humble reviewer with the feeling that we were provided with nothing but honest opinions and options. We mentioned that we are only in town a few days and have been looking forward to taking advantage of the good weather and killer biking the local area. I could tell they were slammed with repairs and expected a day or so, but John called that afternoon at 5:20 PM saying, "I got it done", which was welcome news for sure. These guys are great. We were riding the Duluth traverse and had a mishap with our drop her seat post. Some guys on the trail suggested checking in with the shop for repair. In these busy times for bike shops they were still able to fit us in overnight and get us back riding. Their mechanic is extremely knowledgeable and while fixing the seat post he also did an overall diagnosis and cleaned up the lower bracket while repairing the dropper post cable. AVOID TLDR: Sold me a bike rack missing half its parts, and rudely gave me a hard time when I asked for a refund. They recommended a bike rack that was in an opened box, with the bottom taped up and the top ripped across. I trusted that someone in the shop would have checked to see if everything was inside, since the box was so battered. Mistake! Large parts, straps, and hardware missing. When I went to return it, a very rude older man basically called me a liar, shouting across the store "She CLAIMS some parts are missing". I asked, "You don't believe me?", he shook his head, scowled, rolled his eyes. I showed him which parts were missing, on a photo of the assembled bike rack. He refused to look. He then said, still scowling, "If you charged it, you'd have to run your card again!", like this was going to terrify me into accepting the box of useless junk. He then shouted at someone younger, "Come over here and do the honors", flapped his hand in my face, showed me some teeth, and stalked off. I can't recall a more unpleasant experience, where the shop was manifestly in the wrong, and some ghoul tried to humiliate me over a return. It speaks poorly of the shop's integrity. I will not be back. Mr Ghoul will have to satisfy himself with other victims. read more

While most of the local shops weren't expecting fat bike stocks to be replenished until Fall 2021, TPC had a Reid Alpha in stock that was a decent fit for me. After riding the bike for a week, I decided to upgrade the stock gearing to the Box 2 Prime 9 multishift gearset to make hill climbs more efficient. The crew helped me through my decision making process, and when the parts arrived they completed the upgrade within a day and a half. They even gave me a discount for the stock parts that came off the bike, as I had no need for them and they could use those items in their repair inventory. Duluth is lucky enough to have several bike shops, and, in my opinion, this is the best of the bunch. I'm one of those people who has many high end bikes and Twin Ports is the one shop I have total confidence in. They understand cutting edge enthusiast bikes as well as everyday stuff. I've had them build multiple high-end wheelsets in the last year and they were done perfectly. I'm fussy and I was impressed. If you are a potential customer, I'm totally confident you will be delighted. If you are an enthusiast, racer, high mileage rider, vintage collector, or hobbyist, and enjoy (insist?) having something different and fun, you will love the place. Just go there!
