I ordered bindings for my slalom skis online. I even called the store and asked them when the approximate delivery date would be. They told me a week to ten days. After a week, having not received any shipping info, I emailed them to ask for info. The next day they replied in email that it turned out they didn't actually have the bindings that I'd ordered so they never sent them. They didn't even bother telling me until I emailed them, just never sent them! I had a non-refundable slalom race trip I'd booked. They cost me a ton of money. Absolutely enraging. Several friends and I met in Duluth for a weekend of activities, including biking on the Munger trail. We checked with a number of shops in the are to find enough bikes for our group and that would also accommodate 1/2 day rentals. We found the Ski Hut location near Spirit Mountain to have a good selection of bikes with half day rental available and located right adjacent to the trail. We worked with Chris and Shawn to get bikes lined up for our group. They were both really great to work with, totally low key, knowledgeable and helpful. We upgraded our original plans to ebikes which were a big hit as we had widely different endurance abilities in our group. Chris set us up with Trek bikes with the Bosch mid-drive system. Really a nice quality bike for a rental and decently priced too. Easily my first choice shop for my next visit to the area. read more

I went in after I broke my bike on spirit mountain and we discussed rental options etc... they even trued my wheel earlier in the day for a very reasonable price to get me back on the mountain as quick as possible. read more

If I could give this place 10 stars out of 5, I would. My first time here, was over the summer for my mountain bike purchase. The staff was very knowledgeable, and was ready to help with whatever I needed, and got me fitted for a bike. Walked out of the store happy, and satisfied. The next time I went in was today (11/21/20) to purchase a new snowboard set. I would like to say thanks, and give a special shout-out to Cory for helping me through the entire process. From selecting the board, to the bindings, to the boots, and even socks, Cory had useful knowledge on all the products. Not only did he share information on the products, but he also shared experiences, and stories he's had with them as well. Which really helped with my purchase. We have had a great experience with the service shop here for our family's bikes. We are not a rich family, but we were never made to feel insufficient or like we were not good enough or didn't belong in the shop. Until I went shopping for an ebike last weekend. The weather was not great so really there were not a lot of people in the store. The sales guy upstairs was very interested in talking to my fit friend that I had brought along for fun. In their conversation I tried to ask questions. I had done research before I went. I mentioned that I was in the market right now. Then he made a comment about unfit people and ebikes. I'm not skinny but I am actually very fit. I have saved $4000 for this really important to me purchase and this guy couldn't give me the time of day. I left and thought about going back to give them a second chance. I thought about it all week. And I decided not to return. I didn't want to feel looked past or unimportant when taking a big step in my fitness and lifestyle. So I choose a really nice bike online and ordered it to be delivered. I will try to assemble it myself but if I need assistance I'll call the repair shop. They seem to understand their customers better than the salesman. read more

Ski Hut has always been a big part of my life. This is pretty much the only place that I, or my family have ever bought skis from. I grew up skiing and snowboarding in the winter time. My father was big in to cross country skiing, and my sister was a huge downhill racer. We've always sworn by this place for two reasons: Scott the old owner (it's been a while, I'm not sure if he still owns it) is one of the nicest, most accommodating managers/owners we've ever dealt with. The service you receive from this place is great. The staff really knows what they are talking about, and are not concerned with just trying to sell you a product. They stand behind what they sell and are proud to work there. Secondly and thirdly (OK, I guess there are three reasons), The products you get here are name brand. They are perfect, no issues what so ever. I guess that doesn't say much for the store so much, since when you buy the brand, you really buy the brand. The brands are all the ones you are looking for for the ski season. They do not skimp on products. Also, if you are having problems with your skis or whatever, or just simply need them tuned, they will do it! Just bring in your stuff and they will take care of you! This store, seriously brings back so many childhood memories, I know that sounds weird, but you would understand if you grew up on snow like I did. I love this place SO much! read more

I stopped by the Ski Hut on my way to some FIS races to Lutsen and I needed to get boot work done before that because of a very painful bone spur. We called them about half an hour before getting there, and Dean was ready to get the work done in my boot right away. My foot feels much much better now and I can finally have some feeling again on that foot when I ski. I definitely recommend this place for boot work! Very surprised as I had heard good things. Brought two bikes there last year to completely gone through. Both very nice MTB's, one a 2013 model competition grade MTB (pricey) and one was from the 90's (Diamond Back CFW) that I wanted setup for an extra. I gave them a budget of $500.00 (call me if we go over sort of deal) and told them some concerns and just told them I wanted them I wanted them totally gone through. Got a call a couple days later that they where done (very surprised, happy initially). Went and picked them up and was very surprised at the cost being around $100.00 (to low). I asked them if they where sure they fixed everything and they assured me they did. Hardly the case, the newer expensive mountain bike still had all kinds of bad bearings, and brakes where hardly bled. In fact that was a concern as I had tried bleeding them before hand and couldn't so I knew parts needed to be replaced. Long story short I brought them both right (100+ miles round trip each time) back and they stated they wouldn't work on the 2013 model anymore as they weren't a dealer for them. I explained they hadn't done the things they even said they had fixed (tune-up, brakes, etc) and they said no bueno, I would have to take it somewhere else. The older model they then took in and after a couple of weeks I did end up getting that one back with the main issue addressed (bad crank bearings) but none of the "tune-up" things done as I had paid for the first time. Now I had a really good conversation with them every time I was there, I wasn't rude, I wasn't even upset. I litterly told them if its over $500.00 call me, that should of been enough to have both bikes sprinkled with gold dust plus fix all issues. They didn't want to do the work, I dunno why, except stating they didn't have correct tools. I have since replaced all the pivot bearings (2013) I wanted replaced using nothing more than a couple simple hand tools and a bench vise (didn't even have to use my press). I did have to purchase a tool $15.00 dollar tool for the crank, which I know they had as their top end models had the same crank set my bike had. I ended having to fix the master cylinder and hose on the front brake, it went right to the bars two days after getting it back from them. I was easy business to these folks before busy season. I drove a total of 3-4 trips up there, 300-400 miles and all they would fix on the one bike was a shredded shock lock cable, a tube, and finally after multiple trips crank bearings on the older bike. Should of mentioned I had stopped in there before (bringing the bikes to them) and had great conversations with the owner like folks have stated. Hence why I was just very blown away, I thought they would be the go-to guys for high performance MTB's. They were not. Again I didn't leave mad, I just left knowing I wouldn't be going back. The cost of a lesson learned. Bike rides like a dream now after I went through them with a little help from Youtube. Sorry so long, but I wanted to explain so they know also. I did forget they did replace the steering stem on the older bike so it would fit a smaller rider (GF), and that worked properly. I will say I did get somewhat of a lecture because I had bought the newer bike used and I wasn't supporting the local area. Well I don't live in the local area nor do I ride up there, plus I was trying to spend as much as I could in they're area by having the bikes fixed there. read more

I bought my road bike here. Great fitting and customer service. A few days ago I dragged my crappy old 1980s mountain bike in as I could not remove the bent crank even using the proper tools.
