Every morning we'd wake up to them doing their rounds and maintaining the sites. They were all very kind to us and our dog. Overall the KOA is impressive. Lovely tent camping sites, a beautiful well maintained field for kids to play and clean facilities all around. When it comes to our site, we were disappointed. We were in site 18 which when parking to give ourselves a place to hangout next to the fire pit put us basically right on top of our neighbor. (Check out the pictures - the only view we had from our window was their camper) Our hangout spot near the fire pit was right next to our other neighbors so it basically felt like we were all hanging out together. The worst part for us was the highway right through the trees is highly trafficked at all hours of the day and night. Yes we heard tractor trailers at 3 am. It was so loud from traffic at times we couldn't hear each other speaking. This area of the KOA made us feel like we were at a rest stop on the side of the highway instead of in the beautiful wilderness camping. We would certainly return but without a doubt would need to upgrade to the much more beautiful spacious sites in the back. If you plan to camp in an RV spot we recommend you do the same!

Campsites were clean and neat. Sites were well shaded by trees. Bathrooms clean. Cabins looked well taken care of. Can't say enough nice things. We would go back for sure. Nice area, too. We went to the historic glamorous Omni hotel (World Bank originated here 1944 Bretton Woods Conference of United Nations).

Said there was another outlet at the front that could be used for $0.33/kWh, which is INSANE for slow charging, especially when the site is already paid for! If you're an EV owner avoid at all costs, and frankly even if you aren't be ready for hostility from the owners for no good reason.

He told me "you can't charge your electric car here. Our grid can't handle it. It's pulling 80A and these sites are only designed for 50A!" I again politely explained to him how I'm pulling about 25A and the camper we have isn't actually using any power at all. He didn't care and despite this rule not being on the website or the printed rules, I couldn't charge at my site. I even talked to him the next day (Monday) asking if I could charge my car (tow vehicle) at my site with limited power since the campground was empty and I was nervous I wouldn't make it to the next charger. He refused. I paid $90/night for my site and even offered to pay for the electricity I used and he simply did not care. On top of this electric car situation, these campsites are absolutely stacked on top of each other. It looks like someone had a house with some property and crammed a campground in where they could. This isn't the worst place I've ever stayed but very aware that the owner walks around this campground looking for any "wrongdoing" like a hawk and really doesn't care about you.

Overall, it was a great experience! We stayed at campsite 8 Sunday into Monday, and the surrounding…read moresites were totally vacant. We woke up to a ghost town, but we welcomed the peace and quiet. We weren't able to find the campsite host when we first arrived, but we parked at the site we reserved and noticed our name was posted on the sign for the dates we would stay. Later on we saw the host drive around on a golf cart - she waved as she drove by. So we didn't need to formally check in which was excellent. Keep in mind that the bathrooms are basically outhouses, so nothing too glamorous. There are also a number of dumpsters on site. They do have a water you can pump, but I don't know how drinkable it is. It's probably fine, but bring a 2gallon water jug to be totally safe and care free. Campsite 8 is one of the many handicapped approved spots. Some of the nonhandicapped spots for tents only were a bit more further back to help create a more isolated experience. Definitely aim for those if you can snag one. They don't sell wood at the site, but Foster's Crossroads down the road sells a bag of wood for about 5 bucks, so check there if you need some. One bag is probably 3 hours worth of fire. For hikers, the Sugarloaf trail is nearby to offer folks a half day hike! I think the whole loop is about 4 miles, so it's moderate in difficulty. We didn't end up going on it this time, but the fact it's there will offer hikers something to do during the daylight hours. Give this site a shot if you don't mind staying somewhere without all the bells and whistles! Can't say how it is on a weekend night, but I can't imagine it's that much different.

This was one of the few all season campgrounds we found in the area last minute and we able to book a tent site over the phone. On arrival we were greeted by Mr. Sykes who was very friendly and straightforward. We got a map of the campsite and got to choose our own. Firewood was $14, make sure to bring a hatchet to cut wood to smaller pieces to start your fire. Campsites were on one side and trailers/RVs across a small dirt road. The sites are fairly close together but since there was only one other person camping we had plenty of privacy. The sites all had a stone fire pit and a picnic bench. The trails behind the campsite appear to be snowmobiling trails, they don't extend very far, would probably recommend finding other local trails to do. It's a campsite so I don't expect fancy bathrooms but the big thing (which I saw in other reviews before booking and took with a grain of salt) was that the showers were pretty dirty. The building smelled bad and there were no towels or anything to dry one's hands which is not a big deal to me, but the showers should probably get cleaned at least once a day. There were two stalls on the women's side, one had a lot of caked up grime and the other also features someone's hair and other little bits of debris. We just opted to skip showering but if you plan to, bring shower flip flops! Overall this campsite had what we needed to enjoy some time away and the owner was easy going and nice to interact with.

Located a…read morecouple hours north of Nashua and Manchester it's the perfect place to getaway without being too far from home. Everything about this campground shows that the owners take great pride in it. They have online bookings, text communications (including reservation and quiet time reminders) and they have recently added a checkin booth so you don't have to hop out of your vehicle to go into the office to register. The views of the lake are gorgeous (especially in the Fall) and the landscaping is well maintained. There are several amenities like a pool w/ water slides, dog park, beach, fishing dock, dog swimming dock, paddle boat/kayak rentals, playground and oversized chess/checkers. You can also order homemade muffins to pick up in the morning for breakfast. Their campground store is also one of the cleanest and most well stocked ones that I've ever seen. The prices were also very reasonable (although I really wanted a hoodie as a memento and $40 was just a little more than I was comfortable spending). The biggest negative of this campground is that if you have one of the sites near the front there is quite a bit of road noise. That kills a bit of the ambiance while trying to kick back and relax but the beautiful views from the sites near the front mostly make up for the sounds of loud vehicles passing by. It's also not enough of a nuisance to rate them any lower than 5 stars. In addition to regular camping sites they also offer yurt and cabin rentals which is a nice option for people who don't own camping gear or aren't fans of traditional camping. If you're looking for a lovely place to get away Mountain Lake Camping Resort is an excellent choice!

Hi Alice. So I…read moreneeded to get away from family and friends for awhile. Ended up choosing this place and I was glad I did. It's a very nice and peaceful campground about 4.5 hrs from my home. Alice took me around the campground to show me all the tent sites. I picked a huge site (t-18) which was very secluded and away from the main area. And it was only $250 for the month. I believe they are the cheapest around. They have great rates for seasonal campers as well. So I got there and had to get my car towed, twice while there. Alice,a very cool lady, offered me use of a golf cart since she knew I have breathing issues and several stents in my heart. To me,this was as nice as someone could get. While stranded, she brought me wood, even went in town and got me ice so my food wouldn't spoil! How cool for her to do that, not really knowing me. Alice and Brian are very very nice people!! They keep the place clean, the bathrooms are clean also, which to me is very important. The views are just great,Burns Lake Campground sits atop a hill that has views of the mountains in front of all the site up top. The sunsets are awesome. Plus it's located close to many things to do. Even though they don't have a beach (YET) there is a free state park right on the same road. There's trails to hike and a nice sandy beach. But there is a pool on the campgrounds. Access for putting in a canoe right there by the lake. Alice and Brian are new owners of this place, and from my knowledge, they have fixed up the place. All new bathrooms. What's nice about them,is they are a full bath in each room. Toilet, shower and sink. They offer soap and paper towels for washing hands and face right in the bathroom too. There are no men's or women's rooms. Each one is for who ever wants to use them. We had planned on going back for a spectacular fall. But unfortunately my father in law was diagnosed with lung cancer and we had to postpone. This is the place to relax and enjoy the scenery!! Brian and Alice ARE very god people! Give this place a try,it's worth it. Richard
