We stumbled into Stonegate because we saw they had a few units that would soon be available. We were highly impressed with the upkeep of the grounds & buildings. The pool and surrounding area are meticulously maintained, as was the gym. We also noted that the complex was very peaceful & quiet. Very nice to see an animal-friendly community too. A very nice balance of age brackets from children to seniors was also noted. Communication: Let me begin by saying that Pamela in the office is a true gem! She was quick & responsive, incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. She guided us as to what fit our daughter's needs. We toured & secured the apartment that day! Emails back & forth were swift & informative. And when we had a hiccup with the moving day, Pamela was very accommodating. Move-in day: We couldn't have been more pleased with the condition of the apartment! Our daughter was thrilled with the new carpeting & flooring, as well as the fresh coat of paint. Everything was clean & fresh! We are off to a great start as she pursues her new career & home!

This place has gone insanely downhill which is a shame because it went from a place that had a waitlist to one that they cannot get people to come or stay. They keep upping the price of the apartments because there are dozens of vacancies. Before it was beautiful, now the grounds are straight up a wreck. They fired the wonderful ground crew from before who had things in tip top shape, now the grass is constantly above ankle height and there are deep trenches of mud and water all over the grass and layers of slippery mud on the sidewalks. To express how little they care, they have had a broken security system in the front office that gives off screeching beeping sounds that can be heard several hundred feet away. This annoyance has been going on for SIX MONTHS and no one has come to fix it. Also when the place was risking flooding during a tropical storm the management did not even turn the sprinklers off...which worsened the problem. Same thing, they leave the sprinklers on when forecast shows 3 straight weeks of rain so everywhere is a straight up mud pit. They hired the paint crew from hell, which were reported dozens of times for peeping in windows (including my own), and wrecked the landscaping which still has not been repaired. Did they ever do anything about it? No, management said "headquarters is in charge of the project" so they had zero oversight of random people hired on. 8 months in, not a single building has had painting completed. The dog park is a wreck, holes everywhere, the fence is rusted and the area is not secured. They put in "dog toys" that no one wanted or asked for that are straight up not suitable and just disgusting. They constantly turn off the water with no warning in the dog park which is abhorrent and unethical during the summer. The maintenance guys are doing their very best to salvage a bad situation and are playing clean up crew nonstop to people leaving trash around and doing their best to fix the damage the paint crew created. Walking around building 5 is also a nightmare recently because I've seen people who live there letting their dogs poop all over without picking it up. Several of them do this around other buildings as well and then we get notices about cleaning up after our dogs despite not ever having issues before people in that area moved in. I've heard of multiple people complaining of mold and my place was even flooded due to a neighbor. I did not receive a sorry for what happened nor a discount on my rent for having an unlivable place for a week. Plus I shelled out hundreds in electric costs to run the fans and dehumidifiers to dry the place out. I had to resign my lease due to extenuating circumstances and in the first month I'm already regretting it as they cannot get my payment amount correct. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

My experience at this apartment community was terrible from start to finish. Upon moving out, my…read moremovers pointed out heavy mildew and rust in the utility closet, which explains the constant musty smell I dealt with throughout my lease. The AC and water heater were severely corroded, and all the pipes were a disgusting rusty brown, indicating long-term neglect and poor maintenance. On top of that, I had multiple issues with the AC not working, often going for days without proper cooling before anything was done. Walkways were constantly full of trash, food, debris, and dog waste. Most residents do not pick up after their pets, and maintenance does nothing to address it. Broken sidewalks created hazards throughout the community. Many neighbors sit on their doorsteps smoking, so walking along the single sidewalk in the community exposes you to constant secondhand smoke. The community is technically gated, but many gates are broken, have holes, or are left open, making the "gated" aspect meaningless. There are no security cameras near the gates or mailboxes, leading to frequent package theft. Mail carriers will often leave packages and letters on the ground in front of mailboxes, and I ultimately had to get a PO box to ensure my deliveries would arrive safely. The units are outdated, the water quality is awful, and overall, the buildings are in rough shape, very thin walls, you can hear your neighbors watching tv. Most definitely an overpriced community. On top of that, the leasing staff is very misleading when providing information and just refer you to the corporate MAA if you have any problems. When the hurricane hit last year, management completely disappeared. They went silent for days and took an unreasonable amount of time to clear the property. The apartment across from me had a shattered window with large pieces of glass hanging over the walkway, which all residents had to pass by. Broken glass kept falling onto the sidewalk, it stayed that way for a month, putting everyone at risk. I would never recommend these apartments to anyone. Save yourself the stress, money, and health risks, and look elsewhere.

The toilets also served their purpose but were not Chair Height. (When I moved in a year ago, there were barnacles on the inside of the tank, just owing to the previous tenants not caring.) The carpets were probably new (Mar 2024). The location of the apartment was awful. 50 feet from US19. Traffic noise 24/7. You don't need an alarm clock since the increase in rush hour traffic will wake you us every day. Semi-trailer trucks, diesel trucks, rice burner motorcycles, modded out mufflers will become your nightmare!! One advantage of the unit, it does not get any sunshine except in the morning, therefore keeping the unit "cooler" in the summer. The Maintenance guys are FANTASTIC!! The office folk, no opinion due to the fact we had no reason to interact with them directly. We did send in a couple complaints about the upstairs tenant pertaining to the bouncing of balls and jumping off furniture during late hours of the evening, sometimes until midnight. We never used the pool, occasionally used the small exercise room. The complex has a 'gate'. There were MANY days that the gates were knocked off by cars either piggy backing or just ramming it. I believe the website mentions gated community however the feeling of security was not there every day. They should consider gates that do not break away forcing visitors to call who they are visiting to open the gate. The trash concern. There are tenants who will bring their garbage and PLACE it on the edge of the chute instead of throwing it down into the compactor. That leads the next tenant, when they open the door, to think "oh, its full, I will leave it here on the ground". Everyone then leaves their garbage on the ground. There were several times the area was covered in garbage bags leaving it for the maintenance guys to clean up. Offer to renew the lease ... plus $300

I'm delighted to hear that your family had a positive experience with Stratford Court. At Stratford Court of Palm Harbor, there are two distinct sections: independent living and assisted living. You didn't specify which one your mother was in. Our encounter was with the assisted living section. If your mom was in assisted living, I am hopeful that my critical online review of my mother's stay at Stratford ALF, and her passing away as a result of their substandard care, resulted in the facility making changes to improve their deficiencies.   Above all, I want to see families' loved ones receive the quality care they rightfully deserve. Warm regards, Shelley B.
