Beyond that, the siding on the building was no longer available and the support system had to be changed. He did a phenomenal job! On the last day he was joined by Preston and he did a great job as well. This project had some unique elements. First, was the slope of the ground. Second, was the design. The lower deck was designed to hold a hot tub (not shown here) to be accessed from the upper deck in the area between the two railings. One whole side of the upper deck remained without a railing as I wanted deck access to be at any point along the footpath. It'll be my task to backfill the gap between the deck surface and the footpath. Total number of days worked on this project was six (6). No headwall flashing installed, exposed fasteners, crooked hip caps, unseamed hems... The gutters didn't work as there was an inch or more of daylight between the dripline and the gutter opening. They came back several times and completely replaced a third of the roof and attempted to adjust the gutters, but things still look pretty bad (even from the street) and the gutters essentially don't work. Eventually we just stopped hearing back. The crew that did the work were polite and efficient, but ultimately we regret hiring them for this work and I fully expect needing to replace some or all of it in the future. Having spent $16,000+ to have this work done professionally is both embarrassing and infuriating.
