When my husband's beloved pug, Wally, was old and ailing, Dr. Sabadish provided thoughtful and compassionate care not just for the dog, but for my husband. She clearly wanted the best for his dog and for my husband. She considered cost concerns automatically, without being asked. When it was time to end Wally's pain, Dr. Sabadish was extremely calming and kind. I'm tearing up just thinking about it. We have one dog left who is the sweetest, gentlest creature on earth. He is now middle-aged/senior and has had some health concerns cropping up. I'm pretty obviously a high-anxiety dog parent, but Dr. Sabadish doesn't blink at patiently answering all of my questions and giving us her detailed thoughts, presented without sugarcoating, yet with compassion. She is obviously extremely smart and clearly truly loves animals, but the thing that stands out even more about Dr. Sabadish is how good she is with the people who love those animals. At this point, I would not trust my amazing dog to any other veterinarian. As for Hidden Valley in general, we have had nothing but easy, positive, friendly interactions with everyone there. We are really impressed.

The office manager was cavalier about my 'unfortunate' added expense and her failure to follow up to make sure that I was notified (she clearly is not living on retirement funds). Their corporate office is likely ecstatic for the additional cash which is why their 'notice' was buried among their own weekly spam emails and the other barrage of emails that I/we all get. side note: when I made the appointment, I was not told/reminded about their cancellation of my pet insurance, either. I walked in and explained what happened. The receptionist with zero empathy or interest robotically informed me there were no appointments today. I asked about emergency situations, to which she replied she didn't think this was an emergency. Excuse me? The other receptionist told her to ask in back. She went to ask in back and came back to say they would see her but charge double the regular fee. For people that are in the business of taking care of animals it really felt like they gave zero shits but were more than happy to extort me during an emergency situation. I went immediately to care first just 2 minutes down the road and they immediately saw me no questions asked and treated the situation with care and concern. I'll update my review on what they charged, regardless I appreciate the care and concern I received from care first. Never again oak heart...more like heart of stone. Also train your receptionist to do better. Update: my dog got a venomous snake bite on her front paw. I'm glad that the quick action and care by care first was able to help us. Now the bill...so they didn't charge us any weird emergency mark up visit fee, but we did incur significant costs in x-rays and ultrasounds before they determined it was a snake bite. We also had overnight care, antibiotic and pain med costs. All in I paid just under $900 for this incident. That's good money oak heart would have made had they treated the situation appropriately. Bad manners and bad business.

So its again about them. Not about the pet. There are other reviews describing Dr. Silverstein as arrogant, controlling, and disrespectful (if not flat out antagonistic) of patient's wishes so this is a thing w her. I know everyone worships the ground Dr. Silverstein walks on, but I found her incredibly arrogant (in a condescending way), mean-spirited and judgmental. She doesn't listen to patients either, she didn't listen to me. I know my dog doesn't like certain acupuncture points, he will scream out in pain. I told her, it was in his notes. She did them anyway, right in front of me (I know she knew bc she taunted me after the fact) and then told me that "veterinarians don't like to be told what to do." Neither do I, is she more important than I am? She made my pet scream out in pain. To me, that translates like: who cares about your pet, I should be able to do whatever. I think it's a narcissistic mentality, of people thinking they should be authority over you, instead of working with you and giving the respect they so readily demand, usually undeservedly. There are no gatekeepers when it comes to loving your pet. All I wanted was to keep my pet comfortable but she put her own ego above that and that's unacceptable. Everyone here did. I had high hopes. I couldn't have been more disappointed. It's just another place that wants you to be a sheep, dressed up in holistic clothes. There are cameras in every room and they don't ask if it's ok either. Yeah she may do things in the community, but that doesn't make how she intentionally hurt and scared my pet okay at all. I take behavior over reputation always.

We pulled up and there was literally a welcome sign with our boys' names on it - a special touch. They saw us trying to take a pic with them and the sign and actually came out to take the pic with us. And this is the kind of friendly service we got the entire time. Here's something cool I noticed - the exam room didn't have an exam table. The tech and the doc both sat on the floor with the dogs! Everyone from the reception staff to the vet tech to the doctor was amazing. And for the first time at a veterinary office I felt like we were given transparent health and financial info with which to make decisions and didn't feel like I had to keep my hand on my wallet. I'm so glad we moved to Shiloh. And so are Teddy and Denali!

After doing extensive research and reading lots of reviews, I chose Quail Corners. I've been taking my kitty to them for 3 years. Before COVID, you'd use separate entrances for cats and dogs. The front desk employees have all been mostly friendly. The exam rooms could use a facelift in terms of new paint, colors, etc. Some reviews have said their services are more expensive than other places. I can't say much about this as I've only used two vets while owning my cat. For me, I feel that I'm paying for quality and knowledgeable service. Quail Corners also has a 24 hour emergency clinic. Currently you drive up, call the number posted, and let them know you've arrived. The vet tech comes out and takes your pet inside. I don't love this, but what can you do right now? I will say they communicate with you a lot once they examine the animal (phone calls) and talk through any treatment options. I didn't feel too left out and in the dark by not going inside. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Jarchow! She seems to be the primary cat vet at the clinic and is so patient and gentle with my furry boy. Dr. Jarchow almost "talks" to them by making a friendly purring sound while examining the cats. She is also the main vet surgeon and has done two rounds of teeth extractions on my kitty. I felt well informed ahead of and after the surgeries, plus she's never seemed annoyed at my calls to ask more questions.

We brought our boxer to them during an after-hours emergency. Not only was the ER team incredible, but they were able to call-in their cardiology team for a same day evaluation. They took such amazing care of our baby. The doctors, students, and staff were incredibly kind, empathetic , and thorough in their approach. They worked within our budgeting constraints while also providing the absolute best care possible. The ER team, with support from cardiology, were able to drain nearly 3L of fluid from our boxer's abdomen and lungs. The procedure went seamlessly, in large part due to their expert hands. Afterwards, they came up with a treatment plan for his heart disease to keep him comfortable and here with us for as long as realistically possible. All lab work and diagnostics were done on-site, and we were able to schedule our 2-week follow-up with cardiology right then and there. The amazing doctors also followed up with us the very next day to see how our sweet baby was doing. I truly cannot say enough nice things about this hospital. I also wish to shout out the front desk staff. Some of the other reviews have said that they were unprofessional, but my experience could not have been further from that. When I called ahead of time, I was sobbing and in a panic. They spoke to me with such kindness and empathy, and were able to calm me down enough to explain the situation and give them our ETA. They never made me feel silly or bad about being emotional. When we arrived, they checked us in quickly and provided me with tissues when I inevitably started crying again. They were polite and professional throughout every single interaction I had with them. Working in vet med is notoriously stressful and heartbreaking, and these ladies handled our entire interaction with grace, understanding, and kindness. Every single staff member we encountered was amazing. They are truly a world-class vet hospital.

Shame on you for not doing your duty to care for immediate animal emergencies. I could only imagine the hundreds of people who suffered because of the callous and unethical way of handling animal emergencies. My Rottweiler had decided to swallow a rock and could not pass it through her small intestines and colon. The admissions staff was wonderful and very attentive. Once Thea Belle was triaged Dr. Catherine Coulter assessed her and told me all the steps she was going to take to help alleviate the issue before making surgery the last option. She was able to do what the previous emergency location was not able to do and that was to manipulate The Rock through her intestines and colon and pass it out her body. Words cannot even convey the emotions and feelings that went through my heart and mind when she handed the rock over to me. She and her staff went above and beyond to make sure that Thea Bella received the best care in their hands.
