She advised when placing her order that the flowers need to be blues and whites, as her late husbands wishes. They sent cream and lavender, highlighted with greenery. This arrangement arrived the morning of the event, so my mother called the store to see what can be done and spoke with a clerk who actually had the nerve to argue with her ! Instead of saying "how can we fix this" she offered no solutions. My mother called me in tears! We had to drive to Safeway to search for an arraingment just before guest were to arrive. I tried all kinds of FTD florists but no one delivered to Hawthorne!!! Finally, I found THE ONLY florist in Hawthorne and called them. Now you must understand that Hawthorne isn't a very big town, so I was prepared NOT to be impressed. The second time I called I got someone who was quite knowledgeable and we discussed what I wanted. There was a beautiful pink and white heart spray on her web site that I knew my friend would have loved! The lady I spoke with said that she couldn't guarantee it to be EXACTLY like the one pictured but that she would do everything she could to get it as close as possible. Now mind you, it was TWO DAYS before the 11:00 A.M. funeral when we talked over the phone! The next day she called me and told me that she thought I'd be happy when I saw it. She said it turned out very nice but that the FRIEND ribbon I wanted her to include didn't look right on the small stand so she put it on a taller stand and wrapped the ribbon around the stand so you could read it better. She spent maybe 3-4 hours talking to me on the phone about my vision, pulled together sketches, shared photos with one another.. ahead of deciding to move forward. I felt like I was getting more than I was paying for by how gorgeous everything turned out. She made me GORGEROUS floral arches that grew upwards from the ground.
