He diagnosed the problem, said he would have to order the part, and informed me what the repair would cost. I paid for the repair and was contacted a couple days later when the part arrived. The technician installed the part, but unfortunately, that did not fix the issue. A new diagnostic revealed it was a different part and the manufacturer said they no longer make or supply it, so I would need to purchase a new oven. I was not upset about any of this, just a but bummed that I had spent several hundred dollars for a repair that didn't help. To my surprise, Gold Coast informed me they would be refunding all charges above the standard diagnostic fee, including what I paid for the part. The refund arrived a couple days later. I was highly impressed that they were willing to eat the cost of a part in order to maintain good customer relations. I was skeptical of initially contacting them because their website makes it seem as if they work on nothing but refrigeration, freezer, and ice machines. I am so happy to find out they work on all major appliances and I will definitely be calling them for any future needs.

Fearing the threat of many dollars in frozen food defrosting, I called Gold Coast, my first time using them. Luck was on my side & Aaron arrived the same day I called. He was on time, friendly, professional and thorough. I appreciate any service professional who isn't pushy when it comes to repairing vs. just buying a newer appliance, which is what Aaron suggested since the repair cost would be close to a new freezer cost, so my new freezer arrives in a few days. I felt the price for the service call was fair based on the time Aaron spent diagnosing the problem. I wouldn't hesitate to call Gold Coast again; I highly recommend them. A+++

They offered to inspect for free and I would only pay for the part and labor if they actually made repairs. We determined quickly that it was the igniter and he had the part in the car and offered to repair it right away. I agreed and they handled the appliance with care and took everything apart and replaced the part and put it back together. They tested it and offered 3 months warranty on the part. Jo and Caleb are very nice and professional and we talked about family and his home country of Africa and we had a good conversation while he was making the repairs. I appreciate the fair price and his quickness to fit me into his schedule for today in between other jobs. I would highly recommend his services if you need any appliance repair.

The tech (Adam) came in and at the door, he asked whether it was okay to enter with shoes! Really? We are in the 21st century, who does that? I asked him to put plastic shoe covers I keep near main door. He was happy doing that. When he saw we had a Samsung fridge that is making ice at the bottom shelf, he did not even check the problem. I wondered to myself, how did Adam know what the problem was without checking? Well, he stated that he knew what the problem was from his experience. According to him, some part in the section of the fridge at top labeled "Twin Cooling Plus" was at fault, and needed to be replaced. Estimated part cost $249, plus a labor cost of $300 (Total $549). He asked me whether to order the part. Well, having been cleaning this "hard-to-remove" ice for several weeks, I quickly agreed. He stated he would call me to schedule when the part arrived. A few hours later (instinctively), I decided to check with Samsung. They connected me with their local service provider. The tech listened to my problem description and asked me to pay $140 to schedule service. He stated there would be an additional charge of $60 after the service was completed. If a part was needed, that would be extra. So, I gathered that if the part cost as CCAS had told me ($249), Samsung be a better choice for the service with a total charge of $449 ($100 cheaper that CCAS). I decided to think about it for 2 days. On the third day, I called CCAS to cancel. They told me that the part had already been ordered and arrived; so, if I cancelled, I would have to pay a restocking fee of 25%, plus shipping charges to and fro for a total of $68. I immediately refuted it, but Adam told me they would send it to collections. I told him to invoice me to give time to think about it. Meanwhile, I paid Samsung $140 and scheduled service. The following week, a Samsung tech came by. He asked that I remove the foods in the fridge to leave it clear. He proceeded with removing the shelves and opening the cover at back of fridge. After about 15 minutes, the tech I informed me that the water was leaking from an iced blocked pipe at back of fridge. He removed it, cleaned it out, and put it back. He then told me the problem should be fixed now. He gave me a 90-day warranty and asked me to call them should the problem resurface. Since I had paid $140 earlier, the tech said I needed to pay nothing else. What? Just saved $409 (549-$140) by skipping CCAS! Talk of experience that Adam mentioned - had he taken the time to check the problem, he would perhaps have learned that I did not need a costly part (especially for a 2019 reputable manufacturer's appliance). A few days later, an invoice of $68 arrived in the mail from CCAS as promised. Now, after receiving it, I asked myself: I didn't even need this part had Adam taken the time to diagnose the problem as expected. Why am I even paying the $68? According to Adam, it was because I asked him to order the part he had GUESSED was needed. Think about that for a moment. Now, for future would-be customers, figure this for yourself as you prepare to call CCAS. I am just so done with them.

Absolutely Horrible Experience - Stay Away from Mr. Appliance!…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. Mr. Appliance has been the most unprofessional, incompetent, and infuriating company we've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. We moved into our new home in January 2025 with a home warranty through Old Republic. From the moment we moved in, our washer and dryer didn't work. We're a family of five -- three kids who wear school uniforms and play sports daily (hello, endless laundry), and two working parents who work out daily and also need clean clothes for work. Laundry isn't a convenience for us -- it's a necessity. We contacted Mr. Appliance immediately -- that was FOUR MONTHS ago. In that time, we have not had a single week with a fully functioning washer and dryer. The first technician came out twice, ordered parts, and made no progress. We waited weeks. Then a second technician took over and came out SEVEN different times. Each time, he ordered more parts. Each time, nothing worked. At one point, the technician admitted he might have completely broken our dryer during one of the failed repair attempts. We later learned his manager told him he'd be financially responsible for the unit if he did -- and instead of acting professionally, the technician guilt-tripped us about it. In an even more bizarre and unprofessional turn, that same technician was made to come back by his boss on a Saturday which was his day off and a day he had his daughter or else he'd have to pay for the dryer-- so he brought his daughter with him. Yes, his daughter -- to our home, during a service call. Completely unacceptable! Eventually, after waiting, confusion, and zero resolution, Old Republic cashed us out for the washer -- only because it was clearly beyond the scope of anyone at Mr. Appliance to fix it. We are STILL without a working dryer. Old Republic has now sent out another company, for a "2nd opinion" who (of course) ordered more parts, and we're back in the waiting game. Mr. Appliance has replaced on our dryer the heating element, thermostats, motor and now the new company says it needs to order new bearings for the dryer tub. Old Republic has probably spent well over $1k which is over the value of a new machine. We've spent four months dragging laundry baskets to family members' homes and laundromats while working full-time, managing three busy kids, and receiving absolutely no compassion, urgency, or accountability from anyone involved. Mr. Appliance is a disaster of a company -- careless, disorganized, and completely lacking in professional standards. And Old Republic Home Warranty? They're no better. They assign these third-rate vendors, leave families hanging, and offer no oversight when things spiral out of control. Save yourself the months of frustration, the constant rescheduling, the unanswered calls, and the emotional drain. STAY FAR AWAY from Mr. Appliance -- and if you have Old Republic Home Warranty, just pray you never need to use it.

Even when I have come up with some "small change". He always works with me to solve the problem. He is good at electrical, plumbing and construction. He has done major construction, e.g. he built a soffit to house a rotating chandelier. We have him transform our backyard from a patio to a solarium ever winter and back to a patio in Spring. He has done small projects like solving why we have no cold water in the kitchen sink. He has installed a reverse osmosis system for us. I'd hire him if I were to remodel my kitchen or a bathroom. I have to say his creativity came out when I asked him to do something about the white painted kitchen cabinets. He found a material, similar to what they wrap cars with I think, that was an AMAZING solution that looks great and holds up great too.
