The clerk then allows me my space to find so cute new items, before coming back to ask if I would like a fitting room. This is my regular experience at this store, every time, that's why I shop here. But yesterday the clerk went above and beyond to make me feel good. When she put me in a dressing room, she checked back with me and offered any help, at this time she gave me her first name, in case I needed anything. Later when I went to check out, this clerk was not the one to check me out, but came over and raves about my item choices and told me that she thought I would look In that outfit, she even added "girl" to the end of it. These few extra moments with the friendly clerk took my shopping experience to a new level. I was no longer just stopping in to buy a nice outfit for a wedding, I was now shopping with a friend, which made me want to buy even more! You won't be disappointed with the service from these amazing ladies!

When I discovered this gem I was beyond delighted and they didn't disappoint me in the least! The individual rooms in which to wander are made magical as the shelves are marked using old Scrabble tiles. This is because the owners are super-dooper creative. As well as knowledgeable and hospitable. And funny. They share their sweet dog Coda with each guest and to this date she hasn't tinkled on a single customers shoe! However I think the owners should teach her to do that for the few shoplifters that have sullied the place. The kids room is amazing and each child that finds the secret room is transported to a magical place all their own. As a member of the senior crowd I'm VERY grateful for the neatest, most creative bathroom in the entire town! My first visit there it was the FIRST room I needed to find. As I sat there meditating to the sound of the clapping of one hand I just KNEW I was in for a treat with the rest of the store and I sure was! Besides the great selection of books (which I think are priced almost too low) you can find a few collectible/antique offerings as well as other goodies like snacks and greeting cards. Take the kids and wander in. I promise you won't be disappointed. But be prepared...they are located right next door to McDonald's.

I like Coda, the bookstore dog, though I usually prefer bookstore cats. Nice selection of artistic greeting cards.

When my college buddy is in town for a visit we always like to hit up one of the local breweries…read more The Rhinelander Brewing Company is one that we hadn't yet been to, so the last time he was here we decided to give it a try. They offer everything one would expect from a small craft brewery, both in terms of style and pour sizes -- everything from tastes, to flights, to small seven ounce pours (shorties), to a full pint. I had shortie pours of their lager and IPA. The lager was light and refreshing but not thin and watery (think "lite beer"). The IPA was lightly hopped compared to many IPAs on the market these days -- which I thought was good -- one can taste and enjoy the hops without being overpowered by them. The taproom is located in a storefront on the downtown main street. The decor has an "up north vibe" but I wouldn't say it is attractive or coherent in style. There's a bunch of historical memorabilia on display hearkening back to the old days when every town had its own local brewery -- which in this town was (of course) The Rhinelander Brewery. The staff was friendly and could readily talk about their products. The Rhinelander Brewery is not that much different from hundreds of other small craft brew taprooms around the country, so I'll stick with three stars, which for me means average -- but totally acceptable -- in terms of everything one would expect from an establishment like this. Every town should have a place like this.
