Briar house, the first step I take and open your front door, it makes me smile. I feel at home and welcomed when the friendly & hard-working baristas take my order with grace and joy. The drinks are delicious! Espresso is amazing and gives me energy for the day. The menu is large, so many options. All the special drinks keep me coming back for more. Finally, every time I go, I see something new in the shop - book, accessory or clothing. You are a gem of a place! Don't ever change. This place has amazing coffee and just a really nice atmosphere that includes a gift shop. We spend most of our time in Minocqua, Wisconsin; but, on the big(ger) city trips like to Rhinelander, we always make it a point to swing by the Briar House for their excellent coffee concoctions. Nicole was friendly, welcoming and a barista extraordinaire. This definitely made our experience. I had theCarmelita, 20 ounce, as I needed to get more energy to make it through the afternoon and also, I needed to 'get my Maxx on.' Yes, TJ Maxx is right around the corner at Riverwalk Centre. The Briar House is always an A++ experience due to the high-quality coffees, as well as the really friendly hospitality!! I recommend to always include the Briar House with your TJ Maxx'in as you will be sharper and more mentally alert in hunting down and spotting the deals! read more

Cute little coffee shop that is not part of a chain. The shop is little and almost easy to drive past. It is filled to the brim with kick kacks for sale. As I walked in I was not even sure I was in the right place. Their latte was the best I have had in northern wi. No need for sugar or any flavoring. The plain Americana was also good black. They also had assorted backed goods, I split a chocolate chip cookie and it was on the right side of good. The staff was friendly. They were requiring face masks due to the limited size of the store. One day I hope to not have to leave myself reminders in my reviews on covid preparedness of a place. read more

I've lived in the area for around 5 years now and never knew this place existed. I discovered it while walking around town checking out garage sales about two-three weeks ago. When I went inside... WOW!!! Such a charming and uniquely fun filled place with an amazing atmosphere. The inside and outside sit down areas are beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Inside you will find two stories filled with a huge and delightful selection of artistic creations, clothing and accessories for the woman/women in your life and of course tastefully delicious coffee beverages to fit everyone's pallet. They also offer a variety of sweets, mugs and packaged coffee beans or grounds to take home. The people that work there are wonderful, helpful and full of smiles. My first time there the register was broken. I helped fix it and the lovely woman behind the counter showed her appreciation by giving me my first drink on the house. A great place to grab a cup and go but I recommend you take a look around, sit and chill for a few and enjoy the atmosphere. I'll be a repeat customer. :-D read more

I was born and raised in Rhinelander. This place reminds me of why Rhinelander is so special. For starters, the place smells wonderful. The aroma of fresh coffee and candles makes me want to never leave lol ! Their customer service is impeccable and everybody is so genuine and kind. I wish more local businesses would follow the lead of Briar House. They not only offer a wonderful place to get away and have a coffee date with the girls, but their selection of women's clothing and accessories is unlike any other place in this town. I found 2 outfits for my upcoming summer trip while I was here visiting my family, my sisters and I had a blast shopping there together, and I was happy to give my $ to them and support one of the best local businesses (in my opinion) in Rhinelander. Tourists, If you are looking for some time with ladies, a cute landmark to see while you are here, or even if you are a man who wants some great coffee and small town charm, I highly recommend this place. :) read more
