We stumbled upon this modern fun seafront bistro by accident as we intended to go to The Fat Cow next door and they were closed .
After long day of sightseeing we really wanted to have some great snacks and a nice cold cocktail and catch up on conversation.
Like most bars and restaurants and the Devonshire area you have to order your drinks at the bar and bring them to your own table, don't really understand that because if I was working there I would make sure I had great customer service and when a little bit above and beyond ensuring that I would get tips! But that is how it is done in this part of the UK at least.
Our bartender was young and super friendly he let me know they had only been open for a couple weeks, he gladly gave me the address and information and I let him know I would add them to get out. He made us two of the most delicious Mojito's I've ever had the glasses were nice and frosty and cold with plenty of ice The fact that I didn't have to ask for the ice was amazing and I will give them an extra star just for that. The paper straws that they use didn't hold up very well in this particular drink that had chunks of fresh lime and spearmint. So actually would've preferred a regular plastic straw with this one.
But I know they're trying to save the environment totally get it!
My brother had a couple of pints I don't remember which brands but he said they were also great quality and the glass but nice and cold, my father he was driving he decided that he would just have a couple of Pepsi's. We came at the end of lunch and right before dinner so we were a little disappointed that there was absolutely no food available so they lost to store for that I feel like they need to learn the concept of a happy hour between 4 and 6 PM where they at least have a couple of affordable snack he type items on the menu, the bartender was kind enough to give us some barbecue type corn nuts and some right bananas to snack on. After a couple arounds of great cocktails we decided to leave as we were starving, right as we were doing that the dinner menus came out but we already had dinner plans at home. The seating was super close together and a little uncomfortable to be honest, it looked super chic in cool with black white and some bright yellow but not a place you would want to hang out for very long because of such close quarters, I imagine it can get pretty busy there at night. Definitely would go there again for cocktails and maybe try their dinner menu on my next trip to the read more
