Update: We have received our pets' clinical records now. On the latest, it states "DO NOT…read moreTRUST/CARE" I've been with them as a regular customer for 3 years + (for 3 pets). However, my most recent experience with them has left me now moving vets. Summary - overbooking appointments so vets are always in a hurry and delayed. Thus not able to give thorough care. 1.Lack of proper COVID provisions, overbooking and delays Yesterday we had an appointment and my husband ended up waiting for an hour. They didn't have a suitable provision in place for waiting outside and were very delayed. As a result, there was limited social distancing and animals were very close to one another outside. Our dog became very stressed and my husband informed the receptionist that he was going to wait at the front of the cafe next door. Although this was agreed with the staff, they obviously forgot about it. My husband was left waiting for an hour..... When he went in it was clear they had forgotten. So we rebooked for today... 2. Lack of professionalism - Unclear instructions from the vets, less than 5 min time for over £60. The vet was polite but seemed to be in a bit of a hurry. There were two wound sites we wanted to have inspected but the vets just looked at one. The vets were in a hurry and didn't take time to explain what they wanted me to do with the dog and why. So when I failed to understand they got annoyed at me. He instructed me to hold the dog's harness which I did. But the dog growled and turned his head towards the vet. The vet then made a sarcastic comment of "so much for holding his harness". I was confused as I was still holding his harness. If he spent 30 more seconds explaining what he wanted to do next and why he wanted me to hold the dog in a certain way then I could have done it. We were in there for around 3 mins and charged over £60 for the service and a cream. We have now decided to move vets. Our pets are so important to us and if something were to happen due to the poor quality of care and services then I would never forgive myself.

Well, we've been back again, and thankfully there's no drama to tell. No, this was merely a check…read moreup -Milly had evidently gotten into some kind of mischief as the other day she came in with a wee scratch on her back paw. Since it was still giving her a bit of jip a few days later I decided to nip her over to the vet just to check it was healing well, and pick up her favourite (or not so favourite) worming and flea treatments whilst we were there. Of course, despite the three minute journey, she cried all the way there. But as soon as we sat in the waiting room, calm descended. After about 10 minutes, and a warm welcome from the receptionists, we had our appointment. The vet was just so lovely and friendly -I had a lot of questions, as Milly had put on a bit of weight and I was concerned, and everything was answered to put my mind at ease. Her weight, heart rate and all the other regular bits were checked. We snipped her claws back, as I'm too afraid to do it myself, and we checked the aforementioned paw. Everything is healing fine, I'm glad to say, so she's fighting fit. It was fantastic to take her in and know that everything is dandy, and have such a friendly vet talk through everything I should look out for-essentially, I know a few Doctors who could use some lessons in bedside manner from this lady, she was that lovely! We had a minor incident returning to the reception, given that a humungous and nervy Rottweiler had a bit of a bark as we came back through, which unfortunately resulted in Milly producing a rather large and pungent accident in her box. I wasn't sure about the protocal, but mentioned it to the receptionists when I realised, and quick as lightening one of them got up to take her and get her cleaned up! I was so impressed and grateful, especially since I'd be taking her home in a taxi as I don't drive. After five minutes she came back with Milly, her blankets bagged up, and having hosed her down. Amazing! I was just so delighted that they could do that for me. All in all, I'm really lucky to have such a fabulous Vet near by for my cat, and it's pleasure to have to take her in! As for Milly, she's already settled down on my clean pile of washing, so clearly hasn't been traumatised one bit... Hooray!

I always…read morefelt at vets that I used for previous pets that I could't quite trust them to put my pet first - they are so focused on making money. Bippin is one of only two independent vets left in Leeds. He is eminently sensible and is happy to go for the 'watch and wait' approach even though that means he makes less money. When my labrador puppy was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and I had been watching too much Supervet he counselled me to hold back on surgery, and I am so glad I did as, with the appropriate meds, he is happy and fit and didn't have to go through months of recovery. Bippin always squeezes me in to pick up medicine or for a quick check if I am worried about something. I really hope he never retires as I could not go back to one of the money making factories like Holly House which look fabulous but in which the vets have profit targets. Yes, the surgery is a little bit scruffy, but what matters is the quality of care and the years of experience that Bippin has. I know he cares because I once went in after he'd had to put a dog down that he had known since it was a puppy and he was really sad about it.
