I've just been conned out of £550 by these vets. My husband's first wife took her border collie…read moredog in yesterday and was told that the dog needed an emergency caesarean. She didn't have the money and was told the treatment couldn't go ahead unless she paid up front. She rang my husband in a state and said she didn't have the money and put the vet on the phone, so I know it is true. We couldn't see the dog die, so I paid them over the phone on my credit card. It was only afterwards when I'd had time to think, that I thought - hang on a vet wouldn't let a dog and puppies die. I rang up and asked them if they would have let the dog die if I hadn't paid the money. The manager Alice said no so I asked for my money to be refunded as the owner is nothing to do with me and I don't want this on my credit card. They have refused. It never occurred to me at the time, as I pay my bills on time and don't run debts up, but it appears that the first wife has accounts with them and is probably in arrears. I can understand that they need to get their money; but to blatantly lie to my husband in order to get anyone to pay this woman's debt is to me unethical, immoral and unprofessional. They will have their own channels to pursue debts without resorting to playing on other peoples' emotions in an emergency situation in order to get their money. After speaking to the manager this morning, she changed her tune and said the vet can euthanase an animal if the owner can't pay. So be aware - if you have an emergency and can't pay, these vets can hold you to ransom, euthanase your pet or, as in this case, will not start the operation until you get anyone, just anyone to pay the money up front. I've been really upset by all of this and they know how badly this is affecting me, but they won't do the decent thing and refund my money and pursue this woman via the correct channels. Thankfully the dog and puppies are ok, but I dread to think what would have happened if these vultures and the spendthrift owner hadn't been able to get us on the phone yesterday. Shame on you Aireworth Vets. Latest - the final bill came to £542 and they won't give me a breakdown of the charges or even give me my £8 change. I've reported them to the various channels for unethical, illegal and immoral conduct.

While it is a small surgery it is very well run and very clean and tidy. The staff are lovely and pleasant and go out of their way to make sure you understand what is going on with your pet. The head vet is quite stern and hard to like but the more times you go the more you get to understand why he is like that and come to appreciate him as while he isnt that good with humans he is brilliant with animals. The vets offer all sorts of services from innoculation to microchipping but, there is no nhs service here so if you cannot afford to pay the steep prices you would be better going to a pdsa. The surgery is easily accessed by disabled and has a coffee machine for you to use while waiting. You can also buy your pet food and accessories here.

They are so caring with pets, caring with owners, take time & trouble with every patient, go the extra mile with every case, are gentle & understanding with our little companions & with the owners & are genuinely interested in the treatment, the welfare & the outcome every time. Their service in every area is without parallel, their prices are excellent & I recommend them to everyone. Yorkshire Vets - Horsforth
Update: We have received our pets' clinical records now. On the latest, it states "DO NOT…read moreTRUST/CARE" I've been with them as a regular customer for 3 years + (for 3 pets). However, my most recent experience with them has left me now moving vets. Summary - overbooking appointments so vets are always in a hurry and delayed. Thus not able to give thorough care. 1.Lack of proper COVID provisions, overbooking and delays Yesterday we had an appointment and my husband ended up waiting for an hour. They didn't have a suitable provision in place for waiting outside and were very delayed. As a result, there was limited social distancing and animals were very close to one another outside. Our dog became very stressed and my husband informed the receptionist that he was going to wait at the front of the cafe next door. Although this was agreed with the staff, they obviously forgot about it. My husband was left waiting for an hour..... When he went in it was clear they had forgotten. So we rebooked for today... 2. Lack of professionalism - Unclear instructions from the vets, less than 5 min time for over £60. The vet was polite but seemed to be in a bit of a hurry. There were two wound sites we wanted to have inspected but the vets just looked at one. The vets were in a hurry and didn't take time to explain what they wanted me to do with the dog and why. So when I failed to understand they got annoyed at me. He instructed me to hold the dog's harness which I did. But the dog growled and turned his head towards the vet. The vet then made a sarcastic comment of "so much for holding his harness". I was confused as I was still holding his harness. If he spent 30 more seconds explaining what he wanted to do next and why he wanted me to hold the dog in a certain way then I could have done it. We were in there for around 3 mins and charged over £60 for the service and a cream. We have now decided to move vets. Our pets are so important to us and if something were to happen due to the poor quality of care and services then I would never forgive myself.
