As someone who is very low-tech, I've always had to find someone with special skills to fix my subversive laptop. But recently I tried a reckless do-it-myself repair and sent my machine in free-fall down some rabbit hole. So, instead of reaching out to one of the overblown big names, I contacted Tweaks by Geeks, an independent computer repair boutique that cleaned up after me, a clean-up I assumed couldn't possibly salvage anything. I was so wrong. Toby came to my apartment in less than 24 hours and masterfully restored the HP in less than 30 minutes. It was clear that he had all the skills necessary to set everything right. I actually enjoyed watching him work. Oh, and one other thing. I did not ask to have the beast operate faster, so I was surprised to see later that Toby made it happen at no further cost to me. Had a desktop that would crash under load, came in and explained the entire issue as well as agreeing to pay their diagnosis fee. a week later I call them asking to pick it up because I have school work due and they tell me it'll be done in 2 hours. then they proceed to try and charge me 160$ which is significantly more than their diagnosis fee. Unreliable, and untrustworthy! Toby came to my home office January 30th to tune up my desktop and laptops, and did a great job. I have always had good service from Toby before... I asked about rebuilding (old operating system, and in place for security reasons) my desktop, and installing a local TV antenna. He said he would get back to me about prices, which I said did not matter because of previous dealings. Since February, repeated calls and messages left have gone unanswered. Even talked with a lady (his Mom, I think) about this. They used to be great ???? I can not trust these people any longer. Took my son's gaming computer up there with minor issue. They said it would be 7-10 days to get it back. After over a month I finally just drove up there to pick it up. They charged me $100 dollars just to get it back and when we got home it was still doing the exact same thing. Long story short, a 10 year old child that lives on our street fixed it in less than 10 minutes and all it cost me was an Oreo Blizzard from Dairy Queen. I had a cracked screen on my Dell notebook (Which I am using as a desktop home computer. Long story.) and went to the major retailer who sold it to me years ago. That major retailer would have charged me around $400 parts and labor and taken at least 3 weeks to complete the job. I just bought an all-in-one basic computer from Best Buy for grand daughter to use for school. One week out of the box and it got damaged. Okay, so best buy geek squad sent it out for repair.  The repair price quoted was ridiculous, over $400, and more than I paid for the computer.  Told them to return it to the store so we could pick it up.  Took me half an hour to make an appointment (why do I need one) to pick up a computer that hasn't been repaired. Tweaks by Geeks fixed it for $82 and a new power cord. Tweaks has always come through for us, we should have taken it to them to start with. Excellent, honest, and fair. Tweaks by Geeks Undefeated! I had to install yelp to leave this review, and will most likely leave one on google as well. So, I brought a peoce of junk cpu from bestbuy for 600$, and was highly disappointed . But I had salvaged parts from my older cpu with a core i7 processor. In the process, I unknowingly broke my motherboard. So i called TWEAKS BY GEEKS. And was greeted on the phone by a kind young lady named Das.( thats what she wanted to go by in the review) She was THE BEST! She answered all of my questions over the phone and actually helped me save my computer!!! If it wasnt for her, I'd be chalking up more dough. I wanted to pay her (cashapp) for her help; for some form of compensation, but she said this review would suffice. You are the true MVP for that!! Unfortunately, Tweaks by Geeks has two locations - one on Montgomery Crossroads and the other is Pooler on Highway 80. I received excellent customer care at the Montgomery Crossroads location; however, when I dropped my computer off there for diagnosis and repair it ended up at the Pooler location. The guy who repaired my computer, Rex, was friendly and efficient. My complaint is that the Pooler location shares that shop with a very rude person who repairs telephones. He never told me his name, acted like I was not a legitimate customer (even though I had to deal with him two times in a relatively short period), was very argumentative about a repair he had nothing to do with, and would not contact Rex, on his own, to validate any of the statements I was making. If he were giving away phones I would not want one. He was very rude, unprofessional, and arrogant. If I were Tweaks by Geeks there is absolutely no way I would share space with that phone repair guy!! read more

I needed a quick turnaround on a screen replacement. They talked me into priority service, which would expedite my repair. After 1 week I call without and answer and leave a message requesting the status. I do this a few more times for the next two weeks without a call back. I finally get a call to tell me that my computer had slipped through the cracks and that they had lost track of it. I told them to not charge me for that expedited service, which they didn't want to even discount, given the fact that I was t obviously expedited. I get another call telling me that it's ready. I show up a day later.... it's not ready. I suggest anyone reading this just go find a better option. read more

Took my gaming laptop in for a simple fan replacement. The computer worked absolutely perfect before, the fan was just a little loud. The staff are horrible with communication, I called several times to check on the laptop but the laptop guy literally leaves in the middle of the day. It took 2 weeks to replace the fan, only for them to call me and tell me that the whole computer isn't working and my motherboard is bad. Absolutely unacceptable considering it was working fine before. They couldn't explain what had happened to it. My best guess is they forgot to unplug the battery while working on the laptop and shocked the motherboard. Rookie mistake. It took them a total of 37 days to look at the fan, replace it, and break my 2,500$ laptop, and I STILL had to pay for the diagnostic and received no compensation. Do NOTT take your computer here. This laptop started work originally in the shop in Pooler, and was transferred over to the one in Savannah. So they're both getting the same review. Thanks, guys. read more

I used this company a few months ago with fair results. I bragged on them as I felt they were a new company trying hard. I took my laptop in on September 10 and on October 15th I finally got it back, all to do a simple screen change out on a very common laptop. I have changed screens many times but didn't have time. I got nothing but excuses of how their supplier kept sending them inferior or broken screens for my replacement. I've never had a screen take more than 3 days to reach me. these people are very disorganized. lots of arguing, even with customers I knew had legitimate concerns from my experience as a novice computer tech, lots of turnover of employees with new people working every time I went in. My last visit to their store will be my last visit to their store. Stay away from these people! You'll thank me! read more

I brought my computer in because I was having issues with the screen not working. I figured it would be a lengthy, costly repair but I was happily surprised. The staff at Tweeks did basic repairs and computer maintenance/cleaning first that solved the issue for the time being and got me back my computer quickly. They informed me it would not fix the problem but and let me know how much it would cost if/when I did want it repaired. Super knowledgable and helpful staff. So, I take in my computer because of a spill accident to see if the computer is salvageable. Unfortunately, they say it's the worst case scenario, and the computer is too gone, unless I buy all the main parts at crazy prices. Just so happens, there's a refurbished computer in the store front that is just like mine, they say, and it's a reasonable price. I buy the computer and it's the slowest thing EVER. I take it back, and they find "nothing" wrong with it but offer to upgrade it to a faster speed for an additional price. This stinking thing is NOTHING like my previous computer. I was told it'd be a good gaming computer, and it's far from that...well, maybe for playing something slow, like Mah-Jong or Solitairre. They get one star because they salvaged the data from my old computer. They get 4 empty stars because they sold me a junk computer for $300 and lied to my kid that it was a gaming computer. read more

Excellent tech work/horrible business ethics and customer service Quoted a price to retrieve 5 years of work data from a flash drive but was charged more than double the quote WITHOUT ANY ATTEMPT TO CONTACT me. When I asked if they would negotiate, female owner (?) was hostile and rude. Said I lied about quote and that I was lucky to have work done because no one else does it. Said she'd rather get zero than less. Under circumstances I was forced to pay to get the data, I told her it's bad business to charge double a quote without contacting the customer . She actually came from around the desk to yell an insult out of the door at me as I was leaving. Hopefully, her very skilled employees will start a competition business where the customer comes first. Based on my horrible experience with her I'm sure all readers will get the opportunity to see her blame and insult the customer when she responds to my review. read more
