The prices are on the lower end of the spectrum and you can spend quite a good amount if time trying on shoes as the ladies are quite helpful. They don't often have enough sizes in stock, though. The designs tend to be a bit 'exotic' in the sense that they're not your typical Dutch black or pastel uni-colors. So, if you're in the area and want to wear something different, head to Zapatito and stock up.

The wife needed a few pairs of longer socks for our next country of Ireland which is colder than most of Europe right now, especially at night. They only had a small selection of the high socks and not the right size, but settled for a pair of sandals for 1.3€ - what a deal. We've been to several Primarks in the United States but the size of this one is overwhelming. FYI: this was NOT a paid attraction in Amsterdam.

What a fab shop! I Love Vintage, indeed!!…read more The Mr & I were walking to our brunch destination when we had taken a wrong turn & ended up passing by, right as they were opening. I saw a Cartoon Dress being wheeled out to a sidewalk display & soon as I saw this dress, I knew it had to be MINE Noting where this shop was, we returned that afternoon & there was a huge crowd & a waiting list for the dressing room - an actual waiting list I loved this concept - the girl helping us took my dresses so we could continue browsing & then she came to find us when it was my turn to model my finds That cartoon dress was sheer awesomeness! I also found another 1920s-style dress that was hand-beaded & too lovely to pass up Best part is that they participate in VAT free shopping so I got my taxes back! Happy to also find out they have a website & ship all over the world so I'll be keeping my eye on this shop going forward!

If your a big fan of vintage clothes, then I would recommend you stopping through this store near Prinsegracht. They have a collection of Brand New Vintage items from the roaring1920's, 1940's, 1950's and 1960's style. You can also purchase retro clothes here as well too. They have a wide variety of unique items to get dolled up for any event. It's a wonderful store with plenty of clothes and accessories to browse through. I notice some vintage shops in Amsterdam can be a bit pricey but the list of Vintage Shops that I am yelping about prices are pretty reasonable and moderate.

Admittedly, I was surprised the store wasn't larger. Especially since this is supposed to be the home of Demask. Maybe my expectations are unrealistic and based on US standards. I don't know. Louva was there when I visited and though she didn't seem very friendly at first, once I started asking questions, she was very attentive to my interests. Unfortunately, they did not have the sizes I was looking for in a couple of items, but she explained they could be ordered for me and helped me take photos of tags for future reference. I found another item I really liked and purchased it. After I took it back to my hotel, I noticed that part of the rubber had been accidentally stapled to the paper she had wrapped it in. I contacted the store to ask if they had another in this size for an exchange. They didn't. I spoke with Iris about my options. One of which was I could keep this garment and if anything happened, such as a tear, they would replace it. Before my conversation with her I was feeling very unsure about how this would work out, but her kindness and professionalism while discussing my concerns were thoroughly addressed and resolved. Most importantly, the garment is of excellent quality: great fit, appropriate thickness of rubber, and very sexy and stylish. Thank you! Also: Shortly thereafter, I bought another Demask garment from another retailer and it needed a little alteration. I emailed Anton to ask what glue he'd recommend for their products and he said if I sent it to him he'd make the alteration for free. I decided to do it myself, but I thought his offer was very kind.
