Vince tutored me via Zoom. His remote setup enabled us to have productive exchanges as he was equipped with technology that facilitated easy learning. I'm including this in my review because my previous tutor did not possess the necessary technology to properly conduct remote learning. More importantly, Vince worked with me to apply focus to my GRE study, directing me to the right materials--I had previously only studied 3rd party material. He also helped me to stay on track with weekly study plans that matched my time commitment. In our 90 minute tutoring sessions, we spent our time mostly discussing verbal topics. Most valuable was that verbal discussions with Vince built the necessary experience that enabled me to understand how ETS presents the logic in the TC/SE questions types and what ETS is looking for when presenting their RC question types. As a native English speaker, I had to re-engineer how I read the passages and questions presented in the GRE. My tutoring sessions with Vince helped me acquire the test taking "finesse" in the verbal section that I needed to go from scoring in the 70th percentile (May 2021 test) to scoring in the 96th percentile (July 2021 test). If you have the resources, I strongly recommend connecting with Vince or at least consider taking his online Verbal GRE prep course. Finally, some general test-taking advice re: the GRE. The GRE is a game and you're there to play its 80 little puzzles. One of the best pieces of advice I got from Vince himself: "Be patient, build experience, and take your time with the test." This advice really resonated with me and I took it to heart, eventually attaining the score I wanted. So, to my fellow test taker: "Be patient, build experience, and take your time with the test."

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!…read more I paid over $1000 for a GRE prep course and they completely messed everything up. They told me that 9 people were in the class, turned out to be 15. Also, a few of them were ridiculously...ungifted...and made the class unbearably slow for the rest of us. First problem: They did not give me online access to the practice tests which was a guaranteed part of the course. I set aside 4 hours to complete them and then couldn't get to the site! I contacted THREE phone numbers to try and get this resolved, and no one answered. I finally got a call back the next day and was granted access. However, I had no time and had to rush through the test, therefore getting a pretty low scores that was not reflective of my ability. THEN it told me that I would have to pay an additional fee to get my essay graded. No thank you, I said, and skipped that part of the test. Turned out, essay grading was supposed to be included in the price of the course. All the other students got theirs graded and I just missed out and didn't get that feedback. Called back again and they "fixed" the problem. Then my instructor mysteriously didn't get my score report on the 1st test so she couldn't go over my strengths and weaknesses with me. She told me that she would figure out what was going on and would go over it with me the next week. However, we were supposed to take the second test by the next class. How was I supposed to take the second test without getting feedback on the first? When the instructor finally went over my test with me, she decided to go over everyone's SECOND scores before she went over my first score - I therefore had to wait until long after the class had ended to get my first score back...when everyone else already had their second. I fell so far behind that I didn't take the next 3 progress tests. When I complained about this, I was offered no sort of compensation. They did not fulfill their contractual obligations and the only thing I was told was that I could take the course again if I was disatisfied. Well, yes...because I totally have that much free time on my hands between college, work, and applying to internships. I ended up buying a Kaplan book and scoring above the 90th percentile on both the quantitative and verbal parts of the GRE. I'm not sure if every location is as bad as this one - but it was bad. And their customer service was horrible. The instruction was ok - but overall I felt it was a waste of time. We would spend 5 minutes on 1 question to make sure that everyone understood - really you can only spend about a minute on each question when you take the test.

He is a gifted student, which she recognized, and therefore focused her efforts with him on polishing his test taking skills. With just 3 hours of personal tutoring, which is a very reasonable investment of time and money, his practice ACT scores rose to his goal level. He ended up in the 99+%, with three of the four sections a perfect 36. Because he was enrolled (even in private tutoring), he had access to workbooks, practice tests and scoring summaries. Now, the downside. My son was initially signed up for a group class which was canceled. The website (run by the national PR), is very buggy and difficult. Even my hubby, with a CS degree from Cal, couldn't figure it out. I had to call for help A LOT. Zach took my calls, helped me out, organized the tutoring, and ended up saving me a lot of money. But, it was not without some pain and frustration. In the end, my son made his goal score, I saved money over the group class fee, and my son had access to all the tools he needed for self study. However, the benefits of those 3 private tutoring hours were tremendous. I highly recommend this individualized approach, which both allowed him to have free time to be a kid and reach his lofty ACT goals.

He introduced me to methodical ways to approach reading passages, fully comprehend the questions, what to do when you are stuck, and more. Prior to working with Dr. Donnelly, I had no method for answering CARS questions, and oftentimes I lacked confidence in my answers. After working with Dr. Donnelly, I ended up getting a 130 on CARS and a 525 overall. I think part of what made our work together so impactful was that he really taught me how to understand and approach the MCAT in a way I hadn't been previously. He always explained questions in a way that made sense -- sometimes offering several explanations to make sure I understood the logic behind each question or approach I was confused on. Additionally, he provided me with so much practice material (including full lengths) that I really felt like I could properly target my weaknesses. For example, running out of time was always an issue for me; however with Dr. Donnelly's method and materials, I was able to increase my speed immensely! As I said previously, I really think that I was able to take what he taught me in CARS and apply it to other sections -- especially when I was stuck. In our weeks working together, my understanding and confidence grew immensely; when approaching questions, I could really see the reasoning behind one answer being correct versus incorrect. I strongly recommend Dr. Donnelly to anyone studying for the MCAT!

When I first enrolled, and paid the massive amount of money (1500.00, I believe). I was planning on taking the prep course for the December LSAT. However, a week before the class was to start, Kaplan called me and informed me that it would be canceled due to low enrollment. So this kind of screwed me over, because they weren't offering any other prep courses for December, and all Kaplan's competitors courses had already started. So, I was offered to upgrade to the LSAT extreme for the Feb LSAT and sold into it with the promise that the majority of the information would be covered by December. That was bull. By the time December came, I was ill-prepared. The class is set up in such a way as to progress you to being prepared only at the end of the course. So, I ended up having to reschedule for the February LSAT. It didn't matter anyways. I ended up feeling rushed into it and did poorly, My instructor was a young woman (like 21) who had scored well on the LSAT (around 170) but, she had been a biology major and decided to go to law school at the last minute. She taught the class like a math class, in such a way that I and other students couldn't relate to. Her teaching method just didn't mesh well with the logical nature of the LSAT. No one ever showed up to her class. She rushed through all the lectures, didn't explain very well, and didn't give us enough time to ask questions. She didn't even take Kaplan herself. In fact, she kept mentioning TestMasters and how she took that, and would tell us tips from TestMasters sporadically, throughout the course. I was overall, very displeased with this course and I am thinking about contacting them for a refund or some sort of compensation. The highlight of the course was when she brought us cupcakes at the end of the class with "180" written on them.

Spare me the ironically named euphemisms and just call a spade a spade. At least I'd know what I was in for. An example of LSAT's idea of a "game": On most days, Jody takes the "F" train. Jane, on the other hand, is misanthrope who honestly abhors society and as such, she cannot be within proximity of anything with a pulse. For this reason, she takes the "G" train because it's usually secluded save for a few gutterpups who are far too removed from reality to be noticed. James, who takes the "C" train, has a crush on Jody, who has a crush on Jane, who is a misanthrope and thinks that Ren, who is confused about his sexuality and also takes the "G" train, is a derelict of some sort when in actuality, he's into all sorts of drugs and hobo chic and his intricately destroyed getup probably costs more than a week of Jane's paycheck, which she receives on Wednesdays, the most dreaded day of all, when she must make physical contact with the asshole Human Resources director who insists upon chatting her up by posing inquiries as asinine as "how's this beautiful weather?" even though the asinine inquiry itself and the recent stink of cigarettes that taints his every move suggest that he himself has just been outside "in this beautiful weather." What train does Ren take on Mondays if he hasn't been on a bender? Why does Jane live in the Hatrix? How does the Human Resources director live with himself? _________________________ If I somehow get out of this alive and get accepted to a good school without scratching my eyes out in nervous exasperation, I'll only have Kaplan to thank.
