My sisters both go here and they have shown tremendous growth since fully diving into Marist. My first sister just graduated with acceptances in 15 of the 17 schools she applied to and scholarships from all of them. My younger sister will be playing varsity as a sophomore for volleyball there as well. Marist allows for students to reach their full potential through an abundance of resources, support systems and connections. If I had kids, they would definitely be going to Marist.

I understand why a lot of Buckhead families are drawn to it. That said, looking back as an adult, I do not feel like it prepared me especially well for real life. There was a lot of emphasis on "be your best self," which sounds good on paper, but in my experience there was less emphasis on discipline, toughness, accountability, and the kind of academic rigor that actually helps once you leave a protected school environment. It helped get me into Alabama, but I was not especially well prepared once I got there, and that became obvious pretty quickly. Now I work in residential real estate, and while I do fine, it is not exactly the kind of challenging or deeply fulfilling professional path I once thought a school like Galloway was preparing me for. It is a very relationship-driven job with long hours, and if I am being honest, a lot of where I landed had more to do with family connections than with any real edge the school gave me. That is the part I think prospective families should think about. Galloway was good at making students feel comfortable and affirmed. I am less convinced it was good at pushing them hard enough to thrive on their own later.

I took a job in upper learning and have been so pleased to see that Galloway does exactly what they say they do. They are still true to their mission in a time when many schools have tried to be too much, or worse, given up trying. Students are happy, supported, and empowered to advocate for their own education. The rhythm of the day is purposefully designed to help students learn and grow academically as well as socially. Teachers create conditions for each student to think deeply and participate actively according to their strengths. The day is punctuated by regular breaks allowing students to enjoy social community, lunch, and relaxation in between tutorials and class time. Students are very involved: they run weekly clubs and plan and host town meetings. There is time for sports and extracurriculars. Students can explore their interests casually as well as competitively in a welcoming atmosphere. I wish I'd known about it sooner.

My niece worked for years and fought through so much to get to that moment, and her principal couldn't be bothered to stick around. Her teacher said some really sweet things about her, and the teachers talked about each student before they got their diploma which was very nice. The students also gave some really touching speeches. It seemed like they formed meaningful relationships. There were a couple teachers my niece wouldn't stop talking about during dinner afterwards and before Fusion I never got more than one sentence out of her if I asked how school was going. It seems like she really got a lot of help she needed, but the disrespect I saw from the administration (In the single day I visited the school....) was alarming.

The school just seems to offer everything: exceptional academics (several recent alumni are at Harvard among other impressive schools), a supportive community, a safe environment, and a competitive athletic program. And I can't say enough positive things about the teachers. After 6 years I am so fond of each teacher every year. They ALL genuinely love the kids and their workplace - it makes for such a happy environment. Any time I have ever had a concern, the teachers and administration have been very receptive and welcoming. Yes, there is a good bit of homework. But it seems to be practical and never busy work. The teachers have high expectations from the students and I appreciate that. I am paying a lot of money for my kids to be well prepared for college. Yes, it is a faith-based school. Catholic, in fact. The kids are taught respect, discipline, spirituality, honesty and integrity. And for the students who are not Catholic, I have seen them treated very respectfully. Just like anything, you get out of it what you put into it..... This school thrives on parent involvement. There is a very active Parent Volunteer Association which plans events all throughout the year - for students, teachers, and families. It's a great way to get to know other parents and kids. Parents are always welcome on campus at any time during the day. I feel so grateful to have found this school but what really matters is how happy my kids are because of this school. The school is not accredited per AMI as their website states, and they also do not have Spanish speaking teachers in every classroom as the website states. Staff turnover is high, and communication is slacking despite the Procare App they use. Ratios are 1:12, which are much higher than most small schools out there. 1 lead teacher and 2 assistants (paid $14/hr) in each classroom with tiered arrival and departure times. The best part of the school are the hours, 7:30-6:00pm with tuition around $2000 a month. If you all see this, please know I will change my review when the changes are made.
