The Tutoring Club has been a wonderful place for my child to learn. Ms. Eva and her tutors have done an amazing job with my child. At first, my child was hesitant to be tutored but after a session, he knew that this place would be able to help him immensely and give him the guidance he needed to do well in academics. Whenever he struggles on a particular subject, he will actively request that I have a session booked so that he fully understands the subject matter. Eva has made a world of difference in my daughter's learning experience. My daughter is really smart but can be impatient when it comes to math. My husband and I know math and have tried to help her but it's just been a constant frustration between our daughter and us considering the way she's taught math nowadays is very different from how we learned. Eva not only knows the current way of doing math, she's also very patient and has a teacher's mindset. She explains things well and is consistent with how they're taught in school. She also has the some of the same workbooks the schools have so she knows exactly what to teach her students. She also checks in to see how my daughter does on her tests and helps focus on any difficulties she may have. She really cares about her students and how they do. I came to poway tutoring club beginning of my junior year due to me struggling in one of my classes. At first I was hesitant to have a tutor of my won but let me tell you that it was a great decision to be a part of the club. I loved the tutors and environment so much and got the results I wanted that I took up their program for ACT/SAT because I knew that the test would qualify me for my education in the future. The help and support I have gotten has been fantastic and an easy transition to get into and would recommend for anyone who is on the fence to join the club. read more

I believe that tutoring club is a nation(?)-wide business chain. They have their own materials, assessments and structure to evaluate and move the students up and charge the tuition. However, what we are looking for as a parent might be "truly caring and trustworthy instructor(s)" who understand what they can offer, integrate and implement whatever good they have for students, to impact and make a difference in their lives. This particular location has the very answer, I felt and witnessed. The director, Eva is the one who approaches not only academically but also holistically for her students! She seemed to analyze most districts' curriculums, provides right combinations of materials from inside and outside and check the student's emotional and mental status! I only glanced the other instructor there who seemed caring and engaging so that it could be its culture there but surely I can credit Eva with my kid's motivation, improvement and success, as she had a hard time from our relocation during pandemic and changed curriculums and learning settings, etc.. Eva is like a God sent angel to us as she is aware of what needs to come along with academics while she's an expert of preparing and teaching it! My girls have been going to the Tutoring Club for about a year and a half now. They love going. They started going because my eldest had a bit of a challenge in Fourth grade. She has always had decent grades. But, ever since she started going to the Tutoring Club her grades have been exceptional. TUTORING CLUB OF POWAY IS AWESOME!!!! My son began after his GATE classes ended at Westwood Elementary around the age 10 and is now 17. Originally i I wanted him to adjust to middle school a little more smoothly so we did the summer bridging program. That was the beginning of our incredible relationship and he has never looked back only forward. He is an avid reader and a good STAR tester as well. At the time he was also playing competitive soccer for a local soccer club, which he continued for several years as well as playing recreational indoor soccer on friday nights. The Tutoring staff SUMMER, STEVE, RACHEL, SEAN, ANDREW, JAVIER, KIM, CHARLOTTE, etc etc were so cooperative. Often times, my son had so much homework and along with practices, tournaments both in San Diego and out of town, he always knew he had Tutoring Club behind him. My son Gabe is now a senior at RBHS and in the year 2007 we lost our family home to the Guejito fire that hit the Westwood area pretty extensively. While we were devastated, Tutoring Club was his safe haven. He had friends there, felt comfortable with the staff and he knew his best interests as well as those of our entire family were in their hearts. He is off the charts right now. He has taken the SAT 2 times and is planning on the 3rd time in October to better the average of the scores. He took 5 AP classes last year only because RBHS didn't offer AP Spanish or it would have been 6 AP classes. Along with his classwork, he was doing 6 1/2 Speech and Debate classes which involved weekends and long hours. In the midst of it all, he also took the ACT/SAT prep course and was quite pleased to refer some of his friends to the Tutoring Club. His ACT was pretty high and he is being recruited by some pretty high rated universities from across the country and locally. He is currently taking 5 AP courses such as AP Psychology, AP Government, AP Calculus (2nd year),AP English Literature, AP Biology an d Speech and Debate class (where he is the Captain of the Exempt team). He was just named an AP Scholar for his accomplisments and also been named as a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar due to his PSAT/SAT scores and his GPA. As a side note we even had our older daughter who was enrolled at CSUMB take a few sessions because her marine biology major required a math course which she anticipated problems in during her summer off. But she took a few sessions and graduated this past spring with HONORS. I cannot sing the praises of Tutoring Club any louder and encourage anyone and everyone to send their child there. My daughter has been going to the Poway TC from 8th grade to the present (10th grade). She went from having nearly failing grades and really poor personal organization, to straight A's and she is now undertaking AP classes as well as a busy sports schedule. The TC staff seems to do very well at finding what works to get these kids focused on their learning career, and their 0% financing options were a lifesaver to a family like ours. I just want to update my review. Tutoring Club has tutored my son throughout middle school and high school. He is now ready to move forward into college. My daughter just finished first grade. We started Poway Tutoring Club over a year ago, due to her struggles with reading. She just took her end of year testing to see her progression and she is officially sitting at PROFICIENT.....not only is she proficient she is above proficiency. This center is excellent. Helped my son stay on top of his homework when he was suffering from migraines causing him to miss lots of school. Owner even voluntarily attended a school meeting with me to help devise a plan to allow my son to get through final exams and make up missed homework. Everyone at the center very much cares about the well being of the kids. If your kid is struggling in school or even just needs help with developing study skills, Tutoring Club is money well spent. read more

Our son started at the Tutoring Club in the middle of 1st grade when he was having trouble with reading comprehension and was well below the required average. By the end of first grade he was exactly where he was supposed to be in regards to reading. He is now in 3rd grade and continues going to the Tutoring Club as they give him the confidence he needs and has helped turn him into a top student. I would recommend the Tutoring club to all my family members and friends. What really hit me was not only how invested tutors are in the students education and lives, but how invested management is in their students. I have been to many tutoring places and I know this is not usually the case. Thus, it is refreshing to know students are in good hands here. The tutors are very well qualified. They come from top universities and are solid in their education. What makes tutoring club unique is the personal investment each student receives from their tutor and the connections that are built between the student and the tutor. Also, aside from homework help, the tutoring have programs (Math, Writing, Reading) to help advance students on their skills. They go all year round.
