My son was floundering in elementary math. I was worried come middle school he wouldn't be able to keep up. I heard from a friend that Mathnasium worked for her child so I thought I would give it a try. To my amazement my son (who is in middle school) is now getting 100% on his math tests! He continually says "it's hard and complicated" but works and hard and Mathnasium helps him studies for his unit tests. My sons tells me the tutors here explain math concepts to him and it's easier for him to understand compared to when the parents explain stuff to him. There is so much to say about Mathnasium. Over a year ago, I considered enrolling just my son in Mathnasium due to the significant leap he was making from first to second grade math. Now that he is entering third grade, I finally decided to enroll both my son and daughter during the summer to give it a try for a month. Within a short period of time, I noticed a noticeable difference in their math skills and their genuine enjoyment of the subject. During the first week of school, my son came home with an A on his very first math review test. He felt confident and excited, and asked if he could continue with Mathnasium. My daughter started at Mathnasium a year ago, and absolutely loves it there. I would highly recommend them for your child. Here are some points for you to consider - Instructors are really good (Mr. Andy is best) and concepts are well taught Scheduling is hassle free through their online portal They provide a monthly report and go over with you 1:1 on the progress of your child They have a curriculum and also help with the child's homework, if needed They make it fun by giving rewards through punch cards for completing pages. The child can exchange the cards with rewards from the prize jar. They don't offer classes on Fri/Sun so you've to schedule on the remaining days which could be challenging given you've 10 classes a month. Price is another factor but it could be around same as RSM/Kumon Math is the only subject they offer unlike in Kumon where they've English as well. read more

After 4 months, I am satisfied with her progress and happy to see her regaining confidence in math. Both my sons benefited from Mathnasium's summer program during their middle school years and avoided summer "brain drain." I enrolled my youngest son in the regular weekly in-person tutoring sessions in June 2021 after the academically disastrous Covid lock-downs, home confinement, and online classes took a toll on his mental health and academic performance. Mathnasium helped him establish a solid foundation in math fundamentals, and in doing so, nurtured a genuine enjoyment for mathematics. When my daughter was in 3rd grade, I found out at end of year she was under her grade level for math and struggling. I was not paying attention to what she was learning at beginning of school year (common core math-yuck). I panicked and felt like I failed as a parent in keeping track of everything. I had a friend who as a teacher that helped tutor Menelia for a couple months, then I went to Mathnasium for an evaluation. Since then she had caught up to grade level eventually so later we decreased to once a week which was just enough for her. I am happy and proud to say that she is in honors math at Good Shepherd now (6th grade) and she continues to make progress. I did not expect her to be placed in Honors Math. In her first trimester report card, she scored an "M" in one area and P+ in the other two areas, and I couldn't be more proud. Students are not expected to score M until end of year. (this grading system is all new to me, so I stand to be corrected!) I feel that she is motivated when she comes home from school as she does her homework right away. I can see her working hard. Wow. I am so upset right now. My 10 yr old son has always been unschooled and has never used curriculums. He is self taught and self guided. He has decided he wants to study Astro physics and engineering. In order to do that, he needs to learn math and up his reading and spelling skills. He has decided to do this and was very excited to start at Mathnasium after spending time doing an 1 1/2 assessment. Upon returning home, I receive a call from this company, a company that teaches math, stating they don't think they can teach my son. He was eager, he was attentive, he is in no way unteachable. He is smart and a fast learner. I am completely disgusted by this company. So, if your kid is already good at math and you just want to throw away about $400 a month, this is the place for you. read more

My daughter is in 7th grade and has been going to this Mathnasium location since 5th Grade. I was able to help with math homework before then but in all honesty, math taught now is very different from the way math was taught when I was her age. It started to become more frustrating for the both of us and took a lot of time from me to understand the way they were being taught before I could help her. Fast forward to present time, we are very pleased with the support our daughter is getting from all the tutors she's had. Her math grades have improved and has steadily gotten A's in math each semester. Recently she mentioned that she was the only one in class to get one of the math problems correct from their homework . Her math teacher asked her to explain how she got to her answer and was able to verbalized how she came to the answer. She credits her tutors for helping her understand the concept. This location has offered virtual sessions during COVID-19 and our daughter has been using that platform and she still gets the same awesome tutors and support as she did when she was in-person. The parking lot in the back is a hidden gem for you to avoid the main parking lot in the front always crowded. The manager Archi and her instructors are very helpful, friendly and flexible. Archi has been working with due diligence to make sure students enjoy learning math in a comfortable and secured environment. No student has to wait for an instructor to be available thanks to the good ratio of students and instructors. This well organized place has a waiting room for parents, student area, Archi's office, admin desk, front desk and also a clean restroom. My two kids have been students here for two years and I have seen their great improvements in math skills as well as self-confidence. Archi and her staff are very responsive and personable.
