Angela and her team were absolutely amazing in helping us have our wedding at the beginning of the pandemic. I highly recommend them!

Lago Mar Lagoon or Lagoonfest during the summer is definitely overhyped on social media. On an…read moreordinary day, it's a glorified residential pool with a beach vibe, including sand that has been brought in. However, in the summer, it opens to the general public for an admission fee and has summer concerts, food vendors, and a plethora of all the water sports/activities. Residents get about a quarter of the lagoon, while the remaining three-quarters belong to the general public. On the general public side, you can rent SUPs, clear kayaks, spend time on the water obstacle courses, and take a boat ride around the lagoon. Inflatables are allowed, but only foam-based ones; no bringing your own unless they meet that rule. Unfortunately, since Lago Mar Lagoon is such a family friendly place, you know darn well you haven't left the country to somewhere exotic with the amount of screaming and running you'll witness. If you hear a whistle every few hours, it means the pool is being cleaned and everyone must get out of the pool until it's cleared for re-entry.

My son liked it although he would have loved for there to be waves and deeper water, ya know the anxiety stuff.. The inflatable obstacles were fun but it's an additional charge. The Titan slide was really cool.. But beware and ready to bare... Better adjust yo self before you stand up. I got to moving so fast down that slide my swimsuit britches disappeared . But worth the wedgie! My son loved the pizza and the folks were very nice and helpful.

In addition, the "breakfast" at the hotel was disgusting, with gross runny eggs that not even a dog would eat, and sad texas shaped waffles with no syrup or honey available to put on them. the room was also gross, with stained towels and an unvacuumed carpet. The map had us exit about 15 minutes past the place. When we back tracked and found it the front desk person said this location was so new the map directions were not correct. It was super late when we arrived (parking lot was well lit) and the check in process was quick and easy. We went straight to the room, it was clean clean and smelled good. Lost one star: After we got settled and ready for bed, wanted to watch some tv, relax and zone out, well that didn't happen because the TV was not working. The message on TV said weak or no signal. We tried for a little bit to get it to work but couldn't get a signal. So no tv watching that night. The only reason we didn't call the front desk is that it was already very late. The complementary breakfast had a good variety. The area was very clean. Food options: Juice dispenser, small fridge with cold drink options like milk and water, also had yogurt and boiled eggs. The hot items, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, bread and a toaster. Next up the TX waffle maker (two of them). On the other side of the room, there were boxes of cereal, breakfast bars, and prepackaged/sealed cups of fruit. I don't drink coffee but i'm sure they have an area for that, but no pictures of that area. Plenty of seating options in the lobby right outside the breakfast area and they had two high chairs available. Hotel was decorated for Christmas. There is an indoor pool, we didn't use it but it looked very pretty and had towels there for pool use. The drive to Galveston was super quick and easy about 20 minutes or less. This could definitely be my go to place to stay when cruising out of Galveston. This visit was basically just a bed to sleep in and food in the morning. Next time I'll be more prepared to enjoy the pool and hopefully a working tv and not pass the exit off the highway.
