I'm rating this store 2 stars because I'll give it credit. It has a lot of stuff and it was fairly well stocked. My issue with it is that it was EXTRAORDINARILY expensive. The prices are unacceptably high. Such as $11 for a pack of 10 slices of cheddar cheese, $6ish dollars for a gallon of milk, $6ish dollars for a jar of Skippy Peanut Butter... etc.... We spent $74 on 1 1/2 paper bags of groceries. Later in our trip, we went to Walmart and bought 4-5 bags of stuff for $50... Skippy Peanut Butter and milk at the least are half the price, and the same brand of cheese is $4ish dollars at Walmart. Just incomparable prices... If coming from Las Vegas, there is a Walmart on the way, so I suggest you stop there and plan accordingly. If coming from anywhere else, I'd suggest, again, planning accordingly.

This one is the closest to the South Rim entrance of the grand canyon , on our way back we stopped at the restaurant next door to grab a pizza that's when I spotted this general store. It's a good size and has many essentials but we were looking for souvenirs, they have some magnets , cute soft toys a few Grand Canyon merchandise apparel like tshirts for $14.99 My little one got the Smokey bear for $29.99 They also had hats, coffee mugs etc I didn't get a chance to check the other side that has the essentials but it looked well stocked. Cheers!

Our annual trip to Williams for the Polar Express is never complete without a trip to the Grand Canyon. Most times, we have zipped past this small town enclave of fast food joints and gas stations, satisfied to survive for another hour off whatever food and drinks we packed for the day back at the hotel. But on our last trip through, we couldn't help but stop for a caffeine boost at the local Starbucks, and this market was right next door, so... when in Rome.... And all thing considered, I was glad we stopped (other than you know, coffee.) The store seems to be focused on beer and alcohol, which isn't really my bag, baby-- especially with three kids in tow. Take-home growlers of beer, filled in store from tapped kegs is an interesting insurance rider (guessing, here). They also have a pretty good selection of Grand Canyon-related t shirts, gifts, books, and that borderline-offensive Native American art like "dream catchers" and kokopelli-painted trinkets (aside: Kokopelli is a fertility deity, so I sorta SMH when I see it used as a decoration). Candy and dairy and snacks and jerky and a few other odds and ends round out the store. I'm guessing this is not your place to do weekly shopping, but for the casual visitor, you'll find something you want or maybe something you need. Parking lot exit probably will direct you to the town roundabout, so keep your head up and pay attention. They don't have stoplights, and probably don't take American Express.

Today, I learned the true meaning of "convenience" store. This place has everything from souvenirs, beer, wine, snacks, and even fresh produce. The high price of gifts and souvenirs were expected. The price hike on food was unbelievable, for example, a cup of noodles was $1.50, loaf of bread was $4-$6. Seem prices are doubled on everything - I guess that is price of convenience. However, the gift and souvenir section had vast selection of shirts, magnets, jewelry, hot sauce, postcards, and many more. My advice is to shop at flagstaff for snacks and other essentials before heading to the Grand Canyon area.

Never thought I would leave a review for a convenience store but I was so happy to find this place. It's a Keto Safe Haven!!! Prior to my vacay to AZ I did a lot of research on food by my hotel. I was so disappointed in all the restaurants surrounding the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It's all fast food. So, I meal prepped as much as I could. However, hiking in this hot weather has increased my appetite. Inevitably, I ate all my food, lol. So, the General Store seemed to be the best option. Man! I was so pleasantly surprised. They have fresh produce, diary, keto friendly snacks like Lily's chocolates and Quest bars. I don't know why this place has such bad reviews, it's super clean, everyone is so nice, and they have great options! Go go go!

Have everything but super overpriced. There is souvenirs, to-go food, fruits, vegetables, medicines, travel sizes cosmetics, alcohol etc.

Finding myself more bullish about Tusayan General Store than other Yeeps have been in their reviews. We found the store to be clean, well stocked, well organized, to have what we needed and then some, staffed by friendly people and fully accessible from parking lot throughout the store. (Take a look at Lauren Jeanne G.'s good interior photos to give you an idea of what to expect.) For the four of us in our traveling party, we were looking for a place to buy good quality food options to take into the Park with us (so we wouldn't have to eat the awful Xanterra concession food there) and to nosh on with a bottle of wine at the hotel in the evenings. The General Store has snack options in spades, from run of the mill processed foods to the more organic, healthy choices we wanted. Like Justin's Organic nut butters in convenient individual size servings, whole grain crackers, mixed nuts, organic bananas, Lara Bars, dried fruit., Brown Cow yogurt....and OK, we'll admit it , licorice and chocolate bars. Not to mention bottled water which you'll drink more of than you can imagine as you explore the Park. They also have ice (for your cooler...seeTIP below) and a sundries section where you can pick up things like zip-loc bags, paper towels and the aspirin you might need to treat the elevation headache you might have (7200 feet in the Park and it can do that to some), They also have the ubiquitous souvenirs, options with which some reviewers seem to take exception, but this goes with the territory and the option is don't buy them.. They even had a bottle sales shop for liquor, beer and wine. Not something we looked at as we always pack our own bubbly and red wines (and wine glasses too) to travel...prioirites. (Note that alcohol will affect you more at this elevation than at sea level...and here again that aspirin may come in handy.) BOTTOM LINE: for our experience is for a little store in the middle of nowhere and near the entrance to one of the National Parks, our expectations were exceeded. And given it costs this little place quite a bit more to truck in goods than it does a Safeway in the middle of big city pays, we thought the prices were fair enough too. A TIP: based on three visits to the park in the last decade: Eat breakfast and do not plan on eating lunch in the Park. The Xanterra food options at concessions range from not so good to not so good. And you'll waste time standing in line. Better to take a small cooler in your car, some snacks for inside the park and enjoy them here and there as you take a break from exploring. And that's where the Tusayan General Store comes in handy, as the best place in town and right on the way to the Park entrance, to buy those snacks.

A little bit of everything you would need.

If you forgot anything for your trip down into the Canyon, this is your One Stop Shop! Anything from touristy items, groceries, beer, wine, soda, clothing, camping gear, RV fix-it's, personal items, etc, etc! Even a US Post Office with old school mailboxes. I had blown out the sole of a hiking boot, so my fix it was a tube of "Shoe Goo" and Electrical Tape (to hold the mess together while drying). My wife needed a particular contact solution, yes, they had that too! We rejoiced in our finds and ingenuity by a few other luxury purchases and a local six pack. If you want to survive, make a stop at the Tusayan General Store!

Does anyone know if they sell pants for women here?

I would say definitely no to "normal" pants. To the left as you walk in, back in the corner there is a camping section which might have some clothing items (shirts, sweatshirts, waders) but I have never seen pant I can recall.

    Do they accept food stamps?

    no they dont

My wife went with the Nathan's hot dog loaded up with chili, cheese, and onions. Honestly, that was the safe play and it paid off. The hot dog was good. Solid. Dependable. It did not try to reinvent the wheel or elevate the hot dog experience. It just showed up, did its job, and moved on with its life. Respect. I decided to get adventurous with the Native Taco. And by adventurous, I mean I ordered something that is basically chili, cheese, onions, lettuce, and salsa sitting on what I can only describe as pizza dough. So imagine a taco. Now imagine a slice of pizza. Now combine them and remove most of the seasoning. That's the experience. It's actually an interesting concept. I'll give them that. Taco pizza energy. But everything kind of blended together into one unified note of... fine. Not bad. Not offensive. Just polite. It felt like all the ingredients had a meeting beforehand and agreed not to outshine each other. The hot chocolate was good though. No sarcasm there. It hit the spot, especially with that canyon air reminding you you're not at sea level anymore. All in all, it's three stars. You're at the Grand Canyon. You're not here for culinary fireworks. You're here for one of the greatest natural wonders on earth. The food is there to keep you upright and moving toward the rim. Mission accomplished.

There was no one else there but the lady behind the counter stopped her close out and asked if we needed any help. We got to try a bunch and found out Austin made it himself. We went with a cherry one and when he asked if there was anything else he could help with I was reminded about the t-shirt. He followed me out of the store so I could show him the shirt. He recognized it and knew where it was immediately-turns out it was the back of the shirt and helped me find it.
