After being away from home(St.Lucia) for yeaaars, i was very happy to visit Reduit beach/the ramp again but the beach was crowded so my wife and I opted to have a few drinks at Spinnakers while we toke in the scenery. The ambience was heavenly exactly what you would expect from a beach side restaurant and bar. We ordered a few drinks I had a few Heinekens and my wife had 2 pina coladas. The cocktail was very very light on the alcohol but tasted delicious. Am at a cross roads here cause I enjoyed the experience but I was put off at the prices, which were not displayed, the prices weren't ridiculous compared to average pricing in the states, but compared to the prices a few feet away from the beach it was highway robbery! When we queried about the pricing their response was the price for the scenery is included, I thought that was déclassé and not funny. Other than that I would recommend here because it was a pleasant experience.

The restaurant itself is vibrant and exciting with a friendly and lively buzz about the place. For starters we had salt-fish fish cakes and jerk chicken wings. Those fish cakes where the best fish cakes I have ever eaten. Delicately flavoured, cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. Even though they where made from salt fish they where not overly salty. The flavours where well balanced and complimented each other beautifully. The jerk chicken came in a very moorish and very tasty jerk gravy. Now I know traditionally jerk chicken is not supposed to come in a gravy or a sauce, but this was exceptional. Every now and then a restaurant has to push the boundaries of what is the norm in its cuisine and I like that. This was definitely one of those occasions and it paid off big time. It did as expected have a kick to it but with the accompanying yoghurt and mint dip to cool things down that did take the edge off. For mains I had the curried goat and white rice. We also had the slow cooked jerk pork belly with rice and peas. To accompany the mains we had two portions of the sweet fried dumplings. The goat curry tasted wonderful. Again very well flavoured and not too overpowering. Sometimes you can get a curried goat that knocks your head off and you find yourself guzzling down glasses of mile and fresh orange juice for the next fortnight, but this was spot on. Not a single scrap was left. The pork belly was beautifully cooked and fell away at the touch of a knife. All in all this was a fantastic lunch. Not too pricey either and it is well worth making a special journey for. I'll definitely be returning and I'd gladly recommend this place to anyone who wants fantastic Caribbean home cooking.

(Note: Nando's was the pinnacle...until now!) This place. It's like a sweet Caribbean sea breeze blew into this sleepy sea village and kicked it's butt to wake TF up!! Great thin yet fluffy barra, great flavor on the Trini doubles (enjoyed the accent of coconut on the top) and curried goat was both tender and flavorful (again scooped up with a side of barra) The cocktails can be a bit sweet and light on booze but then...I'm American...it's just not how they do here in most UK places. All in all: Outstanding job!!

This restaurant offers a variety of delicious offerings, including Oxtail, Curry Goat, and Brown Stew Chicken. It is worth noting that Jerk Chicken is only available on the weekends. Definitely worth patronizing especially if you are looking for takeaway options. Also, I am of Jamaican heritage -- this food is absolutely authentic!!
