We agreed on a date to start work. Dustin was here first thing in the morning and worked until 5 PM on the install. He was back the next day to finish the work and he took great pride in the installation, making sure that everything lined up and that the installation was very clean. He was very careful in his work when he had to make a penetration into an exterior wall and tying into the electrical panel. They were very nice, respectful, and the overall experience was great. Until, a few months later my uncle was in my garage and he noticed something about our electrical. He called my husband and myself over and asked us a few questions. He then explained to us that several of our outlets and switches in the garage/laundry room were wrong; He explained that my 15amp outlets are on a 30amp breaker labeled (by all American) as water heater. But our water heater is gas. Not only is this against code but highly dangerous, as if anything sparks or overloads the breaker won't shut off. I called all American electric and explained what we found. Thinking that since they had been so great that they would come out and take care of this mistake/over site. The representative agreed this was a problem then The representative on the phone told me it was not their responsibility and when they installed the new panel they don't test to see if the labeling was accurate on the old paneling. (Which by the way they were checking light switches, asking me did this turn on the bathroom is it off now etc... sooooo, they did confirm and check some of it) The representative then tells me "we will come out free of charge to give you an estimate to change out the breakers and see what else" So I repeated it back to him and said I'm confused. This was an error, and that it never should have been installed like this. Where he doubled down that it wasn't their problem basically. This is a huge safety violation and I don't even want to imagine. So needless to say at the moment we have the outlets taped off until we can have this fixed. I'm so very disappointed it what seemed to be a wonderful company. I was hoping they would make it right and do the proper thing and stand by their work. Unfortunately that was not the case.
