Support jacks were installed to reinforce floor stability in older sections of the house as well. We are very pleased with the work they have done. Everyone, from Nathan (project estimator and manager) to Isaiah (worksite supervisor) and his work crew, Jose and Aikeem, has worked diligently to identify and rectify a variety of foundation and crawlspace issues common to houses as old as ours (70+ yrs). Our house, having been built and modified in stages, over the course of all those years, presented some unique and complex challenges. Each member of the team assigned to our project consistently demonstrated the knowledge and skills required to address all of these hurdles. They identified the relevant problems, developed a plan to address them, and completed the project in the time they had allotted to do so. Throughout the process, from assessment and cost estimation, through to the completion of the project, we found every member of our JES team to be extremely hard working and attentive to our input, as well as eager to answer our questions and address particular concerns along the way. In short, the entire team, including support personnel at the regional office (Summer), was a pleasure to work with and turned what could have been an extremely stressful endeavor into a surprisingly pleasurable experience. As a result of their hard work, as well as consistent communication with us and a readily apparent sense of pride in the work that they do, we feel they have helped us to increase the comfort of our home and add both longevity and value to our house.

"Oh oops I forgot to add this one $10,000 piece to your invoice, the price we've been discussing for 1/2 hour is now 50% higher" "Well I guess I could give you the friends and family discount..." etc etc Every time I said no to their "absolute lowest price they can do," they came back with another "lowest price" with some kind of discount or deal that they "shouldn't do, but can make an exception for..." I've read online that they do excellent work, but all they wanted to talk about was their competitors. If I had a nickel for every time I heard about "the other guys," I could possibly afford their newest "absolute best price we can do." Not a fan. Just tell me the price, tell me what you do, and cut the gimmicks.

I asked Tar Heel to come by and make a determination to mitigate the problem. Before Colin arrived, I had a good sense of what was needed. I had an issue with a basement problem in a former house, so I was prepared for any "oversell." Oh, and my wife had over 36 years in the building industry. Colin provided a very detailed findings and options for correcting the water problem. We were both happy with the proposal and will be moving forward.

I don't usually leave reviews like this, but this experience has been too frustrating not to share…read more We were told this would be a 5-day foundation repair project. It has now stretched past 4 months, with ongoing delays, damage, and no real accountability. This has been stressful, costly, and completely avoid. My family and I had an absolutely terrible experience with this company, and I cannot recommend them for any type of project. We had 10 foundation piers and a stability beam installed in December. What should have been a relatively straightforward project dragged on until late April before it was finally considered "completed." Even now, we're still dealing with the aftermath and trying to restore our yard and property. We were repeatedly promised that everything would be returned to the condition outlined during the sales process, but that never happened. I'm still scratching my head over why they purchased 20 bags of topsoil for the project and never used a single one during the restoration. At this point, I've had to hire other professionals to complete repairs and correct issues that should have been handled by this company from the beginning. The biggest problem, in my opinion, is management and leadership. The company has plenty of technology and systems, but basic communication seems nonexistent. Throughout the project, it often felt like nobody knew what anyone else was doing, what work had been completed, or what still needed attention. Crews, supervisors, and office staff frequently appeared out of sync. That's not a field employee problem--it's a leadership problem. The sales process wasn't much better. The inspector/salesman came across more like a used car salesman than a foundation expert. If you're told the inspection is free and will take about 90 minutes, be prepared for something very different. Ours lasted over four hours and eventually resulted in a $45,000 project. After everything we've gone through, I still question whether our foundation is actually in better condition than when we started. I've even consulted independent general contractors to get additional opinions. What frustrates me most is the lack of attention to detail and quality control. The company damaged far more than it repaired. Work wasn't consistently checked, unfinished items were overlooked, and basic responsibilities seemed to be ignored. Tools and trash were left behind, gates were left open, lights were left on, and equipment wasn't always disconnected or put away properly at the end of the day. Let's also talk about the damage that occurred during the project. The crew broke our water line twice and severed our fiber optic internet cable, despite both utilities being marked beforehand. The Frontier technician who came out to repair the line was shocked by where the damage occurred, noting that the cable had been cut before it even entered the ground. What should have been a professional foundation repair project turned into months of frustration, delays, property damage, additional expenses, and countless headaches. I have photos and videos documenting much of what happened, but the overall experience speaks for itself. My advice is simple: get multiple estimates, do your research, and seriously consider other companies before signing a contract. This project became one of the most stressful home improvement experiences my family has ever dealt with. Looking back, I wish we had chosen someone else. I strongly recommend going with a company that is actually organized, accountable, and professional.

What should have been a straightforward crawl space project became a months-long ordeal marked by failed inspections, poor communication, missed commitments, and a complete lack of accountability. The most frustrating part was not the inspection failures themselves--it was the fact that I repeatedly had to manage the project for the company. Promised callbacks did not happen. Emails went unanswered. Managers failed to follow through. On multiple occasions, I was told someone would contact me, only to hear nothing and be forced to initiate contact again. When inspections failed, I often learned about the status only because I reached out myself. There were stretches of weeks with no communication despite repeated emails, phone calls, and text messages. I documented every interaction because the pattern became so predictable: promises were made, deadlines passed, and I was left chasing answers. Over the course of this project, I escalated concerns through multiple levels of management simply to obtain basic communication and updates. To be fair, Caleb and Chris Alfano were professional and helpful when I interacted with them. Unfortunately, individual employees could not overcome the larger organizational problems. The fact that this project remains unfinished after multiple remediation attempts and failed inspections says everything prospective customers need to know. I have spent countless hours following up, requesting responses, documenting conversations, and pushing this project forward. No customer should have to invest that amount of time and effort after hiring a professional company. The workmanship concerns were disappointing. The communication failures were unacceptable. The fact that the project is still not complete more than six months later is inexcusable.
