I moved to SLO from Chicago in January of 2019 and heard horror stories about finding dentists and…read moredoctors. However, I have been pleasantly surprised as Dr. Ng and his staff have provided me with outstanding service, even during COVID-19. I have been here for routine check-ups, cleanings, and x-rays, and also for fillings and more extensive work. All of it has been of the highest caliber and I am very pleased. I highly recommend Dr. Ng and his practice! I have a few crowns that need to be replaced and will be going back to Dr. Ng to have them done. He uses the best materials for crowns, which is very important - especially for someone like me who has bruxism and grinds my teeth at night. Dr. Ng also made a new nightguard for me that is much more comfortable and stays in my mouth. The dental hygienists are wonderful, friendly, and thorough. I have had a few of them, and all of them are outstanding. When I leave after having my teeth cleaned, they feel and look amazing. I am very pleased with this dental practice!

I am still in pain months after my work and need to get my tooth redone. I tried to reach out to the office and never got a call back. Granted, I only called once, but still, no empathy for my pain was given. I am going to a different dentist for the rework. Someone who has more experience on tooth fractures and is able to admit if they can not do a precise job without leaving exposed dentin on the back side of my tooth. He was very kind at first, but I believe this was a big money job and he was just eager to cash out rather then make sure that he could perform a more than sufficient job for his patient. After all, this is my front tooth! It is a big deal and I am going to have to live the rest of my life with this "new" tooth. I want someone who understands that the tooth should be as close to perfection as possible, not all jagged and rough and painful.

I know he's old school and probably thinks it's ridiculous, but many dentists now either provide DVD's to watch or TV or some kind of headphones w/music. I will still go to him regardless because he's awesome and all, but if you're looking for modern day patient perks, they are not going to be here. Very Los Osos. Not very Los Angeles. Oh - one more thing - I'm totally an anti-dentite as Seinfeld put it. Dentist visits scare the crap out of me. But he was very kind and patient even after my panic attack on my first visit (no joke) so if you're a scaredy-cat like me, look no further. Nothing but love here, even if you're sobbing like a four year old.

I first went to Dr Loveridgge a year ago because a crown had come off. After looking the crown and…read moremy the part of the leftover tooth nub that the crown fits over he told me a couple of options. One was that he just cement it back in place. He explained to me that this would only be a temporary fix because the nub was so short that the crown would just keep coming off. Then he advised me what needed to happen to make the crown better able to attach to the nub was to make the nub longer by retracting the gum line. He gave me the name of another dentist to do this specialized work. After the proceedure I went back to Dr Loveridge and he continued with the new crown. To me this is what a professional does. Explains options. The ones that are the cheapest although temporary and then explains the more time consuming but better, more permanent fix. I appreciate all his professionalism

Any healthcare can be a challenge to schedule in SLO so cleanings and routine exams are usually booked out for several months but it's worth the wait if you're not in a rush. Dr. Lapidus replaced it with a retainer that did not protect my teeth at night. I was treated for acid reflex by an gastrologist that my previous dentist recommended, apparently Dr Lapidus never read my previous records and only after 5 years when a hygiengist told him my enamel was thin he told me to go to an othodentist. Never explaining what the plan was. Thank God I never went back to him and found a knowledgeable dentist that is now helping me. My enamel damage is very bad and I will need a lot of dental work to get me back to normal (or as normal as possible) it will cost a VERY, VERRY large amount of work and money.
