I originally saw his father, and Dr. Ian has inherited all the skills and patience that his father had. I also go in regularly for dental hygiene with Maria, and am just as happy with her work to keep my teeth looking and feeling healthy! Maria works quickly and I always walk away feeling like I have a new set of teeth. The office is in a beautifully restored Craftsman style house near Highway 101 and also close to Poly. It is clean, calm and relaxing. The front office staff is also attentive and patient. They can navigate the intricacies of billing and scheduling with cheer and ease. Dr. Ian also works on Saturdays, and they can fit you in should you have a dental emergency. They can also recommend specialists in the area if you need further work like dental surgery. The only downside for me is that they are out of my dental insurance provider, but I still get partial reimbursement. I would never go anywhere else because the quality of the work here is worth paying a bit extra for!

One thing I absolutely love about Dr. Yoon: She laughs easily and frequently, while expertly and gently taking care of whatever the problem is. I explained that my wife is terribly dental phobic, and also, we needed a dentist who'd be welcoming of our family, part of the LGBTQ community. The immediate response was "no problem." So we made an appointment for my wife's broken crown. If there is a perfect dentist, Dr. Yoon is it! She has a bubbly personality that makes you feel at ease. She has a good sense of humor, too. She was very gentle during the hardest parts, like numbing her mouth and drilling. I liked that she kept telling us what she was going to do next, and about how long that would last. All of those things made this visit much less anxiety-producing for my wife. Her dental assistant was also very nice and accommodated my need to remain with my wife. They both treated my wife with the utmost respect, and yet gave her the extra TLC she needed. I never sensed that they were in a hurry to get to the next patient. They took good care of my wife, and that's all that mattered. The front office staff are also super nice, helping us navigate insurance forms and medical paperwork with a smile. We feel very much welcome here, not just as a paying customer, but extended members of the family. I will be booking my next regular visit with Dr. Yoon, and this will be our family dentist from now on!

We had recently found out about digital crowns through an experience my husband had in Eugene, Oregon and struggled to find a doctor in our area who is capable of producing these kinds of crowns. We landed on Dr. Wong in San Luis Obispo. He has all the latest technology & is able to create the crown in the office in under two. So what would normally take 2 to 3 visits using a traditional crown, takes just a few hours with Dr. Wong. No dentist I have ever been to has been able to completely numb my mouth. Dr. Wong numbed it on the first try, which was a huge relief to me. I felt absolutely no pain or discomfort during this procedure. His office staff and assistants are extremely helpful and very friendly. He is a bit pricey. He is out of network so we did not get the full benefits of our dental insurance, but he is definitely worth the price.

However, I have been pleasantly surprised as Dr. Ng and his staff have provided me with outstanding service, even during COVID-19. I have been here for routine check-ups, cleanings, and x-rays, and also for fillings and more extensive work. All of it has been of the highest caliber and I am very pleased. I highly recommend Dr. Ng and his practice! I have a few crowns that need to be replaced and will be going back to Dr. Ng to have them done. He uses the best materials for crowns, which is very important - especially for someone like me who has bruxism and grinds my teeth at night. Dr. Ng also made a new nightguard for me that is much more comfortable and stays in my mouth. The dental hygienists are wonderful, friendly, and thorough. I have had a few of them, and all of them are outstanding. When I leave after having my teeth cleaned, they feel and look amazing. I am very pleased with this dental practice!

I am still in pain months after my work and need to get my tooth redone. I tried to reach out to the office and never got a call back. Granted, I only called once, but still, no empathy for my pain was given. I am going to a different dentist for the rework. Someone who has more experience on tooth fractures and is able to admit if they can not do a precise job without leaving exposed dentin on the back side of my tooth. He was very kind at first, but I believe this was a big money job and he was just eager to cash out rather then make sure that he could perform a more than sufficient job for his patient. After all, this is my front tooth! It is a big deal and I am going to have to live the rest of my life with this "new" tooth. I want someone who understands that the tooth should be as close to perfection as possible, not all jagged and rough and painful.

I…read morehave been going here for dental treatments since December of 2021 and I cannot think of anything negative to say about Dr. Fitch or any of the employees. Yes, dental treatments can be expensive. That's how it's always been, whether you have dental insurance or not. Dr. Fitch's practice takes almost all insurances and the staff work with you to come up with a financial plan that is doable. There was no way I could afford all of my treatments up front, so we have been spreading them out over the last few months and billing insurance/paying out-of-pocket as we go, and it's been great. Meggan and Lucy are super sweet and take care of all the insurance/billing and appointment questions/reminders for you. All of the RDAs are so gentle and kind. I have *huge* dental anxiety, due to really painful/botched dental treatments in the past and I appreciate that they all go out of their way to help me feel at ease. I wish I remembered all of their names (I think I remember one: Monica!) but I'm a little loopy by the time I get to their office for my treatments ;) I use oral sedation and it makes everything SO much easier. Note: sedation isn't covered by most dental insurances so you'll have to pay out of pocket for that. Worth it! Melissa is a fantastic RDH and is empathetic, gentle, and caring. She gives off the best, nurturing vibe. I really like Dr. Fitch too. He speaks my language (sarcasm), has a sense of humor, and does good work! I never feel pressured by him or feel like I am being "sold" unnecessary treatments. He goes out of his way to show you photos of your teeth and explain why he recommends something. On my first appointment he asked ME what I'd like to see happen. No pressure whatsoever. I am almost done with the majority of my treatments already. I plan to talk to Dr. Fitch about Invisalign, too. I am so thankful to finally have a dentist/dental practice in SLO that I really like! Definitely recommend this practice.

I had been going to this dental place for about 4 years and had extensive work done that amounted…read moreto almost 10k in that time period. At first, I overlooked a lot of things that my gut was telling me. One instance, I inquired about something different from what I came in for, the dentist did work on it right away to my surprise, and of course deducted the cost from my prepaid funds. There were billing errors that happened more than once, being overcharged, even when they say you get a discount. Getting my refund took time because of "corporate" office approval wait. Then I get charged for "periodontal" work $184 when I received basic cleaning - I know full well the difference. I specifically told them that I only want cleaning. With my last appointment I called first to make sure, again she said $184, and I said I want cleaning only then qouted $131. Ok so I go in for basic cleaning, upon being seated, the hygienist said that I'm due for an Xray. I told her I'd rather not at this time as I had extensive work done in their office already. She said my last xray was a year ago. I said it's not necessary, then she calls in the new dentist whom I never met before, and I felt ganged up on both convincing me. I said I'm willing to do it next time or in a year. I asked if they will do cleaning without Xray for now, again they insisted with no regard to what I wanted. So I stood up and quickly walked away. The way they made me feel was awful. This was the final straw for me. I definitely relate to what others are saying about Broad St Smiles. It's a corporate dentistry in which the main focus is to generate revenue as much as possible rather than genuine patient care. Yes, BUYER BEWARE!

Saving the "original equipment" was how Dr. Colleran put it at my consult and it really stuck with me. Losing teeth is a big deal to me and I don't take what the 3+ dentists now who told me I'd lose teeth soon lightly. I basically started crying when he told me that he could, in fact, save my teeth in one or two appointments using this procedure. I've been in pain for years with no hope in sight so I was amazed to hear anything positive. Denise and Sonia in the front office have been an amazing support to me and urged me to come in for a consult regardless if my insurance would cover anything. They both told me I have options and could afford this procedure and get financing. I've seen 3 dentists now who told me I would have to have full upper and lower dentures and was quoted over $10k to do that work which would take 6 months to a year. The last dentist I saw said periodontal treatments would cost me more and "don't work". This procedure was definitely not pleasant but I can already tell (2 weeks post op) how much better my gums look and feel. I think this will save my teeth and gums and greatly improve my life. I will keep this review updated for anyone thinking about doing the procedure. Do it. It's worth it and WORKS. I had both sides done at once in a 3hr appointment with Dr. Colleran. It wasn't fun but let me tell you him and his staff are badasses and KNOW what they are doing. They were very gentle and kept me updated on what was going on when I asked. I personally decided to listen to an audiobook with headphones due to anxiety which I suggest to anyone getting a major procedure like this. No, the staff was not chatty but they were focused on making me comfortable and getting the work done ASAP. That really matters to me. I also personally think that is always so awkward to chat while getting work done because hello, you can't talk anyway! I loved at the end the sweet assistant put lip balm on and it made me feel cared for. She def did whatever she could to make me more comfortable. I am 6wks post op and completely amazed by this procedure. I got a lump over a particularly bad gum section and they redid that portion of my gums and sent me on my way. They even found a way to charge the insurance for my first cleaning. I'm so impressed by this office and can definitely say I'll be a patient with them for a long time.
