We just moved to SLO and needed a new dentist, and my insurance company sent me a list. I saw Dr. Yoon's name on the list and decided to call. I explained that my wife is terribly dental phobic, and also, we needed a dentist who'd be welcoming of our family, part of the LGBTQ community. The immediate response was "no problem." So we made an appointment for my wife's broken crown. If there is a perfect dentist, Dr. Yoon is it! She has a bubbly personality that makes you feel at ease. She has a good sense of humor, too. She was very gentle during the hardest parts, like numbing her mouth and drilling. I liked that she kept telling us what she was going to do next, and about how long that would last. All of those things made this visit much less anxiety-producing for my wife. Her dental assistant was also very nice and accommodated my need to remain with my wife. They both treated my wife with the utmost respect, and yet gave her the extra TLC she needed. I never sensed that they were in a hurry to get to the next patient. They took good care of my wife, and that's all that mattered. The front office staff are also super nice, helping us navigate insurance forms and medical paperwork with a smile. We feel very much welcome here, not just as a paying customer, but extended members of the family. I will be booking my next regular visit with Dr. Yoon, and this will be our family dentist from now on! read more

I was looking for a new dentist since my current one lost sight in 1 of his eyes. A good friend recommended Dr. Brunnick. I am so grateful to her. Over the years I've got to know Ron and his staff and consider them friends. Ron and his assistant keeps up with the latest technologies and dental procedures. My last visit was on a Friday, usually their day off. Ron and Deena came in just so I could I have my upper fixture screwed in, (I have dental implants). Thus I could take out my dentures, which I despise, and I would be able eat salads again! His office goes beyond..... They are professional and compassionate. I highly recommend them all. read more

The universe has set its stars to shine kindly on you this day. Your experience will be painless, your spirits will be lifted, and new friends will seek you out for business ventures. Seriously. Dr. Brunick and his staff have truly saved me on multiple occasions. I started going with my family as a teenager, and as an adult, I went as I could afford to go, given my lack of insurance. Even paying full price for cleanings and living out of town in LA, I have come back to Dr. Brunick and his wonderful staff. In my mind, there is no other dentist and staff on the planet. I was in a physically damaging bicycle accident, where my two front teeth were nearly lost. Needless to say, I felt and looked horrible. The next day, I walked into Dr. Brunick's office feeling torn up, embarrassed, and unsure. Dr. Brunick and his staff were welcoming, understanding, patient, courteous, and professional. They quickly (that day!) helped me get my full smile back, explained the procedure (which thankfully turned out to be the less intense option and most cost efficient route for me), and were genuinely interested in my dental and overall recovery. Since that fateful day, they've worked on my teeth for regular cleanings, and my front teeth again, when I had one chip before a job interview, Dr. Brunick and his staff worked with my schedule and got me an appointment in time for the interview. Yes, I got the job. Personal Experience Check; I have been to less than amazing health professionals before. Dr. Brunick and his staff are more than amazing. At other offices and with other doctors, I've been pushed into signing up for seminars by salesman doctors, steamrolled into appointments, schemed into supplements, and ignored by staff in other offices and clinics, as most of us have in our journey to find help when it comes to our health. I think no matter who you are, you will experience some of this at some point in life. Please know this is not my first rodeo and I'm writing this truthfully when I say Dr. Brunick and his staff deserve to have a 5 star page. A Thought for the Yelp Community; Those of us reading and writing reviews owe honesty and real self reflection on our experiences at businesses and the places we review in order to best serve each other to help ourselves in the yelp community to pass on accurate information and give representative reviews of places we have experience with. Ask yourself, if you call a place one time, and have never been there, does that mean you have experience enough leave a 1 Star and poor review? I write reviews for places I know about and can speak at length for in order to convey as much experience that I can in hope to be helpful because I read a lot of reviews. And I tend to read some from every star tier to gauge how experienced and accurate the reviewers are with the given business. Same with Amazon, I will click into a reviewers profile to see if they are leaving poor reviews on everything and to find out who this person is that is saying this. read more

Ron Brunick is a dental genius! I've been going to him in an attempt to fix my shark teeth since I was about 5 years old. For some reason I was born with a too-small lower jaw compared to my upper. My over bite made me look like a pathetic turtle, but as soon as I opened my mouth people would take a step back from the two rows of my bottom teeth, which struggled to cram into my mouth. I wasn't a bad looking kid, but I did tend to keep my mouth shut. By the time I was 10 there was a lot of talk of surgery, but thankfully we decided to just try braces, and two years later- perfection! If only that lasted... Not only am I born with defects, but I tend to get myself into situations that exacerbate any pre-existing condition. As I mentioned, I had quite large teeth in the roof of my mouth compared to my lower jaw. In particular, my front two teeth are noticeably longer than the rest of my teeth; not drastically, but enough for it to look a bit funny if you get close enough. Well, three years ago I was visiting a couple friends up in Santa Cruz when I fell flat on my face and broke off one of my front teeth. I won't go into what made me so oblivious that I would fall face-first into pavement without putting my hands out in front of me, but I'm sure you can imagine... Well not only did I lose a tooth in one of the most painful ways possible, but it was one of my large, front buck teeth. I looked like some sad hillbilly the next morning, with one missing tooth alongside one even more noticeably longer buck tooth, and my face scraped up. I finally had to do the inevitable; face the facts and call my parents back in SLO. They were able to book me an appointment with Dr. Brunick the next weekend (which was pretty amazing considering I had to return to San Diego the next day for a week of classes, buck toothed and all). Needless to say, my mouth is returned to it's former perfection, for the moment, complete with a new, long front tooth that seems at home in my ill-fated mouth. There is no one better for the work. It also helps that one of our neighbors works in his office, but the staff and their work is excellent! I'd recommend his services to anyone, especially for those crazy, lost-tooth nights! read more

And I've also had multiple teeth cleanings in his office from the fabulous Darlene. :) I thought root canals were supposed to be painful... so I dreaded getting one inevitably for a tooth that had a super-shallow root. LOVE LOVE LOVE my dentist. I have literally gone to see Dr. Brunick since I grew teeth. And despite living in 2 different cities, I always return to see Dr. Brunick. He is professional, personal, knowledgable and just a wonderful human being. He has fixed cavities, performed root canals, and performed cosmetic changes for my two peg incisors (people are shocked to find out two of my teeth are half fake...he's that good). One of my biggest fears is he will retire one day, and I panic at the thought of having to find a new dentist. But luckily he's sharing a practice with one now, so hopefully Dr. Brunick will teach the new guy his ways! if youre in the market, come see Dr. Brunick! read more

I'm a dental work chicken. I had the most ruthless dentist growing up and it put the fear of god in me. I purposely had not visited a dentist for about ten years because I was so afraid to step foot in another dental office. A friend learned about this and called up her dentist and made me an appointment. When I arrived to Dr. Brunick's office, I instantly knew this was NOT the kind of office I visited during my childhood. I have been going to Dr. Brunick for five years now and after every visit, I'm impressed with this office all over again. My hygienist, Jennifer, is kind, personable, and great at what she does. She puts me at ease and I'm never afraid to get my teeth cleaned. She also calls me out (nicely) when I'm not keeping up on my flossing. She keeps me in line. Thank you, Jennifer! I see Dr. Brunick annually and he's amazing. He's a natural people person. After a year he still remembers personal details and asks questions of me as if he is interested in what I have to say. I'm amazed. I always leave feeling squeaky clean and valued as a patient. I love love love this office! read more

I was excited to maybe have found a good dentist finally . I really needed to go somewhere because I've been having extreme pain and when the lady first answered I was told I would be put on hold for a few minutes. I said of course, that's fine. When she got back on the phone she said she didn't have anything until August then quickly said bye and hung up on me. I didn't even a chance to say anything. I get being busy but I work in an an extremely busy call center, and her tone and everything was pretty rude/not necessary. read more
