Let me start off by saying, I in no way believe in Magic. However If I was to believe that magic is for real, it would be Dr. Deborah Turner, who would be the one to perform this magic and change my thinking. However, I do call what she does a miracle treatment. It has been non other than what I believe to be a real miracle or shall I say I'm not the same broken person I was when she first started to treat me. She has been as some would her a God sent! It would be most disrespectful and perhaps even unethical for me not to share my experience of what I believe is priceless, the wonderful hands of Dr. T's miracle treatment. The utmost credit goes out to Dr. Turner and the use of her methods in how she treats me and all her other patients. Most patients can not explain exactly what's done to them and why it's being done. We may not always understand why certain treatment take place but Dr. T is always willing to explain and share why she does what she does. Nothing is a mystery and that's important to me. All we know is how we feel in the end. (WONDERFUL) Dr. T as I usually call her is one rare, unique, humorous, tender, loving, brave, intriguing and not to mention an extremely knowledgable person. If I don't say anything else, I will say this. She know's her stuff....... She's very engaging and always addresses everyone by name. It says a lot about a person when you can name everyone that steps into your office. We as patients appreciate the attention she shows to each and every one of us but more importantly the attention she puts into our treatment plan. She creates an individualize treatment plan for each patient and that I feel is extremely important to my well being. I can personally attest to a specialized treatment I received on March 5, 2014. It was my first time experiencing this treatment. I was surprised as to how great I felt after receiving this treatment for the first time. After discussing it with her I was surprised even more when I found out she had been training intensely just to personalized this procedure just for me. ( I ask!!! Who does this?) The answer..... Dr. Turner does this. ( I'm just saying ) Most Doctors may be authorized to medically treat a person but not necessarily held accountable for how they render the treatment. However, when it comes to Dr. T. her work ethics alone should be the standard that every Doctor, new or old should abide by. The medical treated I receive on every visit from Dr. T is with such details, far surpasses any standard treatment I usually receive from other Chiropractors. Ive gone to several chiropractor's in my life time and I've never met anyone like Dr. T. or have I been given the type of treatment she always gives. And this I say happens every time and I mean every time I come in for my miracle treatment. I've been impressed with something new almost every week since she's been treating me. I learned about one of the tools she uses to treat severe and overall back pain. It's called (BLOCK's) I was introduced to this treatment the first day I met Dr. T. I receive immediate relief when these Blocks are used on me. What looks like a simply tool or instrument is an amazing pain reliever. I look so forward to these BLOCKs each and every time I come in for treatment. Even just for a short time this tool is used I receive much needed relief. So needless to say I get to enjoy these blocks every time I come for my miracle treatment. I can't say enough about the changes in my physical condition I've received thus far. Every moment I spend with Dr. T I'm receiving my miracle treatment. I spend no less the 30mins receiving a treatment and that I know is number 1 in my book. Whether Dr. T know's this or not, I frequently observe her and I continue to learned a lot. I suffered from scoliosis as a child, as well as injuries to my neck and back from a car accident....I have been to sooooo many doctors for treatment and Dr. Turner is BY FAR...the Best!!! It is sad and confusing that some New Yorkers don't know how to respond to the genuine professionalism and positivity that comes forth from Dr. Turner. She is not fake but someone of a bygone era where her intention is to make you feel like you matter. I have left decent doc's practices from poor client relations or poor office management. Dr. Turner and staff are extremely professional and there is a bit of a wait (about an hour and change at times....but certainly worth it, I actually drive in with two small kids about 20 minutes just to see her. I can't recall a Chiro's office that was consistently so busy with patients. It is because she knows what she is doing and if you consistently see her and follow her instructions you absolutely will see measurable results, hence her office is busy with patients. Adjustments in and of themselves don't take "Long" so you will always wait longer than the treatment, unless your particular situation calls for 'blocking' which few chiros know how to do, let alone do well. This doctor is passionate about your healing, goes to regular training herself to keep abreast of the latest techniques, makes accommodations for all types of last minute schedule changes, including temperamental children and regularly participates in charities involving donations of items as well as her own time and services to the less fortunate. I even met a man whom she had helped identify a benign brain tumor and he actually told me he snuck out of his hospital bed to get adjustments from her so as to speedily recover - amazing! If she can help you financially or physically in any way she is eager to help. Give her an honest try and see her regularly and with all her equipment and scanning, you will absolutely see real results! Give it an honest 3 months at least, but you will probably feel better quicker. If she can treat major athletes, she can certainly do something with you. You will feel much better, more balanced, stronger, and the special pillows she custom fits to you will make you sleep so well. The pillows she allowed me to pay over a schedule of payments and honestly, the money is simply so worth it.....unfortunately our flawed healthcare system does not cover longterm chiropractic care so you have to pay eventually and trust me given the 'high end' docs I have seen in Manhattan, her rates are a bargain....and at the end of the day don't be upset that she is a responsible tax and bill paying citizen who is running a business and needs to collect funds for her services. I was going to do a separate review of Dr. Turners solely based on women's health care needs such as prenatal and postnatal care, but unfortunately it looks like Yelp doesn't allow that. Dr. Turner successfully treated my broken tailbone from birthing my first child, alleviated virtually all discomfort throughout my second pregnancy, including having to pee in the middle of the night. I slept so well and I was able to have a quick, uncomplicated, all natural childbirth with my second child without any injury to my tailbone. In fact, Dr. Turner adjusted me within an hour of returning home and my water breaking. She told me her pregnant patients go fast and 18 minutes after getting to the hospital my little girl was born! I attribute Dr. Turner's care (and cool table that accommodates pregnant women's bellies) to my awesome second pregnancy. "So much more than a doctor" Dr. Turner is a certified & gifted chiropractor located at 84-02 51st Avenue Elmhurst (Queens) New York 11373 she is a must see. Dr.Turner is an angel sent from heaven. I remember going to my primary doctor and other doctors wanting to have a full body examination meaning blood work, eyes, teeth, lungs,breast, pap smear, veins, colonoscopy, spine you name it I wanted everything done before my 40th birthday as a gift to myself. I wanted to know where my body and wellness stood. I am not saying something was wrong but something was not right. I know my body. To my surprise my health insurance would not cover my chiropractic services, one of my primary doctors nurses gave me information to a chiropractor. Only a certain amount of adjustments would be allotted under coverage (depending on the health insurance). Being fully aware that it could be out of pocket meaning I would have to pay I knew and felt it would be a well deserved investment in myself after meeting Dr.Turner. The energy of Dr.Turner, the office location, her employees, I just spiritually knew I was in good hands. Everyone is amazing so when I sat down and conversed with her she waived my consultation fee all I had to do was bring canned good for the people less fortunate, yes they had a food drive at the time that she has been affiliated with for years. Dr.Turner took xrays of my spine showed me what the situation was and It was up to me whether or not I wanted to proceed, my spirit felt at peace so I proceeded. I highly recommend Turner Chiropractic. I started going to Dr. Deborah Turner in May, 2002 due to a very stiff neck. After a few tests, I was told by her that there was bad news and good news. The bad news was that my body was out of alignment and the good news was that I could be helped by chiropractic care. And I was! I started wearing orthotics and have been wearing them ever since. My stiff neck went away after several adjustments. Then in 2003 I developed sciatica and was in a lot of pain after hurting my back while working out at a gym for the first time in many years. Dr. Turner advised me to stay home from work for three weeks and to see her for adjustments three times a week for several months. At the time I thought there was no hope for me but I have learned to always follow her advice because she is always right! The tingling in my left leg and the terrible pain in my back went away. In October 2008 while walking home from work one night, a car making a U turn hit me. This accident undid much of the good work that Dr. Turner did on me the previous six years. When I visited her a few days after the accident, she got right to work on me and had me go for MRI's on my back, shoulder and knee. After many adjustments I was healed thanks to Dr. Turner. I would recommend Dr. Turner to anyone. And I did recommend her when my brother from Florida visited me in August 2009. He was in such terrible pain from a back problem that he could hardly walk. I called Dr. Turner on very short notice and drove my brother to see her. She immediately tested him and later told him that his body was out of alignment and would need about seven months of chiropractic care.Even after one visit she had relieved him of a lot of his pain. After three visits, he was able to walk and return to Florida! And even though she knew that he would not be her patient, she still gave him the best of care and compassion and helped him to find the chiropractor in Florida that uses the "sacral occipital" treatment that she recommended. I feel blessed to have finally given chiropractic a chance after being skeptical all my life. I had a curve in my neck with excoriating pain from my neck and shoulders and spasms in my shoulder joints and hips. My then chiropractor told me I needed surgery immediately. My pain was caught by her energetic smile and later assurance that her adjustment techniques will help my "subluxations" ! Her xrays, posture tests, and body energy reads confirmed my issues. I had many different ailments, little to no success with other doctors. My sister recommended Dr. Turner with the highest praise. I had these problems over 20 years and just had gotten used to them. Some of my ailments were very bad and not the usual kinds for chiropractic care, so I wasn't expecting anything at this point. But I went with a positive attitude while also being realistic. Today I will say my problems have significantly improved due to Dr. Turner's care including the ones I thought I'd have forever. She has done stuff to me I never thought doctors could do. I first was treated by Dr. Turner eight years ago. I was certain I was headed for life in a wheelchair considering the impairment and pain I was suffering at the time. Damage accrued from injuries I had many years before had stopped me in my tracks. Dr. Turner gave me hope and the benefit of her expertise and care. I have been a patient of Dr. Debora Turner for over two years. I was told by a surgeon that he would not consider me for surgery because the results would be minimum at best with a very painful recovery. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Turner. I arrived at her office in great pain and doubtful that chiropractic adjustments would help. Dr. Turner was honest about my condition but assured me that I would be back to work in 3 to 6 months telling me that she had seen worse X-rays. I am back to work! Dr. Turner is thorough, honest and efficient. However, she does not "suffer fools gladly." She will answer all your questions the first time asked and second time; but, after the third time she becomes impatient.She not only employs traditional chiropractic adjustments, but also uses a form of "blocking" that increases the effectiveness of the adjustments. Blocking is so simple that one wonders if anything is happening. With Dr. Turner's skill, this technique coupled with her adjustments work! The draw backs are that Dr. Turner talks fast and you may need to ask her to explain more details or speak slower so that you can grasp the meaning of what she is saying. Also, the waiting time in the reception area can be frustrating for some people. But, what doctor have you seen lately that you did not have wait in the reception area! Dr. Turner's staff is well trained and very personable. When you enter the office and the staff immediately greets you by name, one feels appreciated. While some chiropractic adjustments are basic, Dr. Turner treats each of her patients with specific adjustments and blocking. Having a holistic approach to her practice, Dr. Turner will also address some basic health concerns with supplements. After starting a regimen of her supplements I was able to stop taking pain medication and also my uric acid level has decreased so much that my PCP is no longer concerned. I walked in Dr. Turner's office around November of 2015 as a last resort before having surgery. I was in horrible neck/shoulder pain for about two years straight (that was getting worst overt time) without relief. After trying everything (ointments, shots, medications) my doctors/insurance didn't know what to else to recommend. I was very wary of massages and have never experience chiropractic care before. The most I did was pop my knuckles at work and since my neck/shoulder area was so tender, I didn't let anyone touch it. With thin four months under Dr. Turner's chiropractic care; my neck/shoulder/back pain has subsided drastically. I have my good days and bad days in which I have walked in with tears in my eyes from the pain, but Dr. Turner always sets me right. Being athletic all my life I get "tune-ups". Chiropractic, Massage (deep tissue, myofascial release), acupuncture and a host of other manipulative body healing techniques. I also utilize good nutrition, herbal and vitamin supplements. When injured, as I am currently, it is most important to find the right healers. Over the years I have come across quite a few extraordinary people that are just that, Dr. Turner being at the top of my list! Her approach at healing the whole body not just the area creating the pain is key to complete recovery for which she strives for. We talk and Dr. Turner explains to me her techniques and should I not understand breaks it down so I do understand. Dr. Turner offers herbal supplements while not forcing them upon the patients, discussing the supplements with her there was no need to purchase through her (although quite convenient) as I already had my supply of herbal and vitamin supplements. Dr. Turner has boundless energy and enthusiasm for what she does. She is a kind person. In the four months I had regular treatment with her she was always congenial and informative with superb healing energy. Everything is explained thoroughly. Her practice is thriving and her waiting room is a true microcosm of New York City, both ethnically and socio-economically. I reside in Manhattan and, honestly, taking the subway to Queens was just as efficient for me as going uptown or downtown. The office manager, Nalissa, is highly organized and congenial both in person and on the telephone. In addition, I was impressed by Dr. Turner's Tuesday evening session for new patients where she explains her discernment to the chiropractic vocation with passion and humor. I would only caution anyone new to the practice to be prepared to have patience in the waiting room. If you're a stickler for on-time appointments then this is not the place for you. The care is more than a quick fix and you will need to make a commitment in order to receive the benefits. I do not understand why some people would describe Dr. Turner as fake and insincere and I would suggest they examine their own cynicism before publicly committing to writing something inflammatory like that. Prior to meeting Dr. Turner about 5 years ago I had absolutely no idea what a chiropractor did. Fast forward to today and chiropractic care has changed my life in such a positive way. I started out as an employee of Turner Chiropractor but also became a patient, so I experienced first hand the amazing things chiropractic can do. Before starting care I suffered from frequent migraines (at least 3-4 times a week). These migraines were consuming my life and all I wanted to do was crawl up in a ball and sleep them off (sometimes I would wake up with the same migraine). When I told my doctors they never really had an answer or cure as to why I was getting them so often. When I started working at the office I was amazed at the miracles I was witnessing. I can honestly say Dr. Turner is extremely knowledgeable in her profession and beyond! She genuinely cares for all of her patients. I've literally seen patients come in barely able to walk and after a few consistent adjustments they were walking and feeling great again. Iv'e worked for this woman for almost 8 months and let me tell you she isn't what she appears to be. Not only does she act like she likes her patients but shes lies about what you need in order to get more visits and get more money. Behind closed doors she is a nasty woman who practices her almost robot like responses so she sounds convincing to everyone. To be honest she only sees the dollar sign and for those who have considered work there in one year she let go more than 40 people because not only do they not train you they blame you for their lack of being able to train you. The worst part is your supervisor will blame you instead of helping or aiding until you are fired. Dr. Turner lies on most accounts, yells and belittles people often. Unless this is the only place you can go to I recommend you stay clear of her business or employment line. She is nasty and people quit knowing this or get fired because they pointed it out. One last thing ask your doctors what you need often because if you get to much chiropractic work it can actually get worse. So you can understand what I mean at one point she complained about having Senior citizens early on Sundays out loud and said it was "annoying" she wanted to make them start coming later. I remember the first day I stepped into Dr Turner's office. It was about one week after my first car accident in 2009. I was emotional from the accident, in physical pain and unsure of my recovery. As a professional athlete, being able to train is critical and I was just a few weeks from competing at the World Championship. I was referred to Dr. Turner through a friend. We began my treatment and I felt the difference immediately. I competed a few weeks later and won! It is now 5 years later and I continue to see Dr Turner on a weekly basis according to my treatment plan. Most of my 2009 injuries have healed but I continue to see Dr Turner for maintenance and overall wellness. There are times where more intrusive adjustments are needed due to my heavy lifting and competition prep, however that is a determination we make on a session by session basis. There is only one word to describe Dr Turner.... Amazing!! Her knowledge of chiropractic care is evident and the care and concern she has for her patients is remarkable. I am familiar with a lot of her patients and I can sense same sentiment when I see them at her office. We all love her! She has become a critical piece of my competition prep and no matter where I am or how busy I get, she accommodates my schedule to assure I make my sessions. I was never the type of patient to seek chiropractic care, until one day having been referred for a consultation I decided to give it a try. I was instantly very impressed by Dr Turner's professionalism and her extensive knowledge. She was able to point out concerns in my body without even looking at my MRI results which I had brought along with me. What I was extremely impressed about is how nerves can affect your body in so many ways ex causing stomach issues. I unhesitatingly decided to start treatment because I instantly felt safe and I trusted Dr. Turner. So far I know that I'm healing, not only from physical pains but a sense of peace and healing from inside.. as they say healing and well being are connected to the spine and now being an actual patient under such competent hands makes my recovery a blessed and special journey. Dr Turner and her staff are wonderful. As a chronic migraine suffer it is great to have somewhere to go to relieve the pain. If you need her she will not turn you away because you don't have an appointment. I have walked in countless times in pain and was seen with no problem. She has spent up to 3 hours with me when I was having my more severe headaches. Thanks to her magic hands and great sense of what is going on in the body not only are my headaches less servere but they come less frequently. I have no problem recommending Dr Turner to anyone. Regardless of what other commenters have said she is not out for the money. She works with you. Just remember she does have to get some kind of payment for her services otherwise how can she stay in business and help everyone. As for selling the products, she RECOMMENDS things that she thinks may be helpful for you. She gives you the information you need to make an educated decision as to wether or not you want to use the product. She has never held a gun to my head and made me use any product. I came to see Dr. Turner suffering from a serious herniation after every other doctor advised me that surgery was necessary and my only option. I was devastated, hopeless, and in excruciating pain. After reading all Dr. T's wonderful reviews I decided to give chiropractic care a try before resorting to surgery, even though I could barely walk or sit. She explained my condition (learned so much) and care needed to me thoroughly. I began weekly adjustments 3x a week along with a healthy nutrition plan and high-quality supplements provided by Dr. Turner's office (vital part of my recovery). I began to recover gradually and was able to go back to work under her care. Dr. Turner's staff is friendly, efficient, professional, and flexible.
