Bottom Line: I went in without an appointment and could barely walk. Within an hour I left walking straight without pain. Nuff said.

In less than 4 months I'd say I'm 80% healed. I was diagnosed in November 25th and had very little progress from then to February. The only reason I didn't go sooner was being my neurologist claimed acupuncture did not work and said that with Bell's palsy it's just a waiting game. Everyone is also very friendly from the moment you walk in and meet with the receptionist to the moment you leave. It is also very clean and relaxing. On the first day Peini explained everything to me very clearly what is Bell's palsy why and how it happened, and went over the whole process with me along with giving homework, facial exercises and things to avoid. She is also very caring and celebrates your progress with you :) I will definitely continue seeing her even when I'm at 100%

But in the end, even paying out of pocket was still worth it. My condition resolved itself in just a handful of sessions and I'm so grateful for their expertise and experience. Each visit had a different treatment approach based on how I was progressing. Everyone here is super professional and informative. The office runs smoothly and everything feels essentially like your regular doctor's office. If you have specific ailments and can't find a traditional doctor or specialist to treat you - or appointments are months away - don't rule out acupuncture treatment here! Your health can't wait!

They pick up the phone, and even have a text messaging system for your convenience. They take medical insurance so I didn't even have to pay extra, and staff even helped me check if my partner's plan was eligible. On my first visit, bedsides filling out a few forms, I didn't have to wait for my acupuncturist and masseuse. I was swiftly taken back after some intake questions about my prior sports injuries. The massage was very comfortable and relaxing. Just FYI they do make you take off your top undergarments so they can massage your back easily. I was a little nervous at first but they massage you on top of a with a giant sheet so you're all covered. My acupuncture session was pretty low key since I didn't have any major complaints. Most staff speak Mandarin so its a plus if you do too. The rooms/linen were clean. The calming music background was appropriate. The walls are a little thin so you could hear things going on in the lobby but it didn't bother me that much. Besides massages and acupuncture, they also offer other services such as PT. Hours are also very reasonable including weekend options!

After attending a Sage + Sound Sound Bath via a pop-up event last month (it was good seeing you Kathy!), it prompted me to book an actual class @ Sage + Sound at the above stated location. I was immediately interested in the Gong Sound Experience & booking the class online was pretty easy. Sage + Sound has Services, Classes, wellness products, etc. Services include Facials, Massages, Acupuncture, Nail Care via the Nail Salon by Sundays, etc. Classes include Meditation, Sound Experiences, Workshops, etc. Sage + Sounds sells body, hair, skin, products, etc. Once I arrived at Sage + Sound, I received warm greetings via the Receptionist. She explained the various sections - I walked into their cute café, saw the seating area, the nail salon, etc. I was informed that personal belongings are to be placed in the unlocked / unsecured closet area....the communal space where belongings are stored has shelves. Although I put my bag & sneakers in there, I opted to take my wallet & cell phone (turned off of course) into the class. Sage + Sound would benefit from investing in getting individual secured compartments (ex. Lockers - even if people need to bring their own lock, drawers, etc.) where patrons belongings are safely stored & locked away. This would prevent any potential theft of patrons belongings & let patrons feel good knowing their items are safe. The Gong Sound Experience w/ Samer Ghadry was a 1 hr. Class - It was amazing! Sage + Sound's Class / Floor set-up was so comfortable. Everyone laid on their own individual bedding / padding areas w/ a standard blanket & had an eye mask for use. Sage + Sound only had a couple of knitted weighted blankets - it would have been great if they had one for each individual that registered for the class. For a $55 Class, each person should have had an knitted weighted blanket to use if they chose to do so. Samer is an exceptional Instructor w/ such a calm & soothing voice that put me in a immediate relaxed state from the moment he began speaking. The gong sounds, the breathwork, the soothing chant sounds, etc. made for a fantastic experience. Nothing but peacefulness & tranquility. Please check out Samer's Instagram @samerghadry Samer also has a YouTube channel. Sage + Sound Website has information on their classes, workshops, products, services, etc. There are also Class Packages. sage-sound.com @sageandsoundnyc Sage + Sound Hours of Operation: Mon. - Thurs. - 9am - 7:30pm Fri. - 9am - 9pm Sat. & Sun. - 9am - 7pm

The place is huge. I was there on Mother's Day. Depending on where you enter you may not see the reception and appointment desk for the spa offerings. My only complaint was with the many employees at the reception desk. It would have been nice if I was greeted. I would have been pleased to have a tour of the whole area. It certainly is odd that you can wander around without supervision. I recommend you treat yourself to a pedicure. Don't wait for Mother's Day. The nail salon was the most crowded area in the whole business!

I did check the yelp reviews prior, but not nearly as deeply as I should have. Anyway I knew to expect a very small place, but in reality, it is miniscule! So I made a same day appointment for one hour acupuncture and back massage. As advertised, $45. So Dr. Jimmy (I'm not sure what kind of Dr. ) asks me if I have insurance. I said I do but we are out of network, blah blah, I will pay the $45. So he does his needles on my back and then puts a heat lamp on me whilst I"m in the very small room with a barely working air conditioner. I asked him to come back in 10-15 minutes please so as he wouldn't leave me there for 30-45 minutes as other yelpers claimed. Then he very roughly massaged the areas and I had to ask him to stop as he was really hurting me. I then asked if he would do the massage and he said,"I get you woman." The lady was pretty good hence the one star. I did have to ask her to close the door since there was another gentleman client outside. Once the massage was over I handed her a $50 and she said, "it is minimum $10 tip!" I said "where does it say that?" I was initially considering zero tip, but i felt bad for them cuz there English is terrible and she did do a good 30 minute back massage. Then she said "it's ok, it's fine, i will tell him." So she accepted my $5 tip, how gracious.... My advice is to look for other Asian massage places in the hood, the UES or travel to Astoria....

Jimmy doesn't not speak English very well - therefore he couldn't fully understand what I was asking for or saying. I've had acupuncture many times - his needle placement did not really alleviate any of tightness or tension in my muscles and when he connected electrical stim he put the machine too high - I tried explaining to him that it was too strong but he didn't understand. After 10 mins of discomfort I finally asked him to just take it off. I did fire cupping as well - again I didn't feel as if he targeted the areas I asked for. It wasn't the worse cupping I've received but definitely not the best. Here is probably where my biggest issue was. The massage. Now I love deep tissue massages and I have a high tolerance for pain ... but when you dig your elbow into bone instead of muscle tissue - it's clear you have no idea what you're doing. His massage was very rough. I have an athletic muscular build and I was in a lot of discomfort. Instead of rolling out my knots he rolled over my bones. Def will not be coming back here. If you're looking for better service check out Manhattan Wellness Group. Much more professional office setting and the acupuncturists speak English and actually know what they're doing.
