I wish the programs were more clearly outlined on the website so more people in need could find it. The Pros: Competent clincians (with an exception who was let go), who offer thorough, well-researched groups. The ability to tailor your schedule to your needs, and reassess over time. Transportation is provided, and there is a number to call for 24/7 support in the ETP (Enhanced Treatment Program). There was always a therapist on call. Of the programs I have been in, I will say BlueSky has the ability to provide high-quality care for a wider variety of issues, including psychosis and trauma. The trauma psycho-ed group was a particular favorite of mine - I had never experienced that level of psychoeducation in any other setting. The cons: some houses are much nicer than others (for those in the ETP program). Security in the houses is very lax, there were break ins at one location during my time there. There is no accounting for noise levels, creppy neighbors, and people smoking weed in your driveway. Male staff can enter all-female housing at any time, even in the middle of the night. Nothing untoward ever happened that I knew of, but it is a consideration for some. Night shift staff can be dismissive - once I was in the midst of a panic attack, called for meds, and was told to 'wait until morning' next time because the medication was 'too hard to sort through'. Of the two perscribers I worked with, one (the MD) was much more competent. I was still over medicated, to my detriment. Having been in similar programs before, I will say this is about par for the course anywhere you go, especially if you enter on a robust med regimen. My time at BlueSky was not wasted. As with any program, you get out what you are able to put into it. I felt I had adequate support and was well-prepared to live on my own by the time I left.

The folks were well intentioned and caring but not very detailed oriented. Communication always seemed to be an issue, and my medications were never quite right. The individual therapy was fine, and the groups were hit or miss, depending on who facilitated. The life coaches were just unreliable but nice and well intentioned. My biggest reservation involved our dependence on rides to the store, appointments or to the clinic. Being on time always seemed to be an issue, and schedules would change at the last minute with no communication. I intended my stay to be a six month treatment experience but only completed one month. That's all I could take. I was discharged and transferred to a sober living facility but foolishly decided to continue with Blue Sky IOP for "treatment continuity". I lasted 3 more weeks before reaching the end of my rope. Overall, Blue Sky was a learning experience and like most such services, it's exactly what you make of it. I sought to make the best of my time there but was very glad to leave and finally cut ties completely. UPDATE: Today, I am working on 3 years sobriety and remain hopeful about long term recovery. Now that some time has past, I definitely see how Blue Sky was a major challenge in my post treatment recovery, but I plugged into another program and learned from that whole ordeal. Others have been helped, so like that unwritten Taylor Swift song we'll never hear, "Maybe It's Me". Best wishes to all seeking a sober life!

While Dr Kennedy left a few years ago we have continued to get stellar service and care. My sons (especially the youngest) require quick and dedicated care and not once has this office let us down. The fact that someone is ALWAYS on call is vital to us and not something you get at most Doctors offices these days. I've been told by a bunch of friends that they get told at their kids peditrician's office is "if it's not during office hours you have to go to the E.R." When you have a child with a rare condition that is not something you want to hear. As far as the not allowing a patient to come with non custodial parent or guardian. Only those who have legal custody have the authority to allow shots and other treatments. I'm sure this got started because a step parent or boyfriend/girlfriend of a custodial parent or a non custodial parent okayed something that the person with custody did not agree to. This is just like how you can't get a passport for your child unless each parent is there and okays it in person.

She had a bitchy attitude to begin with. Maybe because I'm not a child they treat anyone over the age of 18 like degenerates. Know your role receptionist. The women working in the office are very rude. I made an appointment a week ago for a physical which they confirmed. They apparently called and texted a phone number that wasn't mine on file or the one I called from to make the appointment. Then they were telling me they needed to confirm the appointment but when I call to make an appointment there shouldn't need to be a second confirmation. They told me "we can't see you today" so I left and there was nothing said after that. Not a have a good day or nothing. Very uncomfortable and disgusting attitudes.
