So.. I had talked to a friend of mine who said she went in to drop some stuff & she claimed the lady in the back was excessively rude to her and turned away a bunch of her stuff, that was pretty nice things. I was quickly reminded of why I stopped bringing my things in, for the very same reason.... I had brought a large number of jackets that were Northface, Patagonia and mountain hardware. The lady in the back was also very off putting and turned all my things away that day, saying they were full and she didn't have a need for them. I shop there and have seen lesser quality of stuff many of times. Anyway, I have had dollars owed to me and have never cashed out any of my consignment dollars, never have I gotten a check, nor been given a balance. I tried talking to a clerk about it and they were not helpful. I went in this last week looking for dorm items and the ladies in the back were being so rude to an elderly lady and almost yelling at her. When the lady walked away, they were openly talking crap about her and laughing like they were in highschool. I wouldn't bring your things in here, I'd find another shop. Just my 2 cents.. and that's probably what it's worth! read more

I've been to Turn Style twice in the past year, specifically for decorative home goods. While the store isn't overly large, they have a solid collection of decor pieces, all arranged by color. Additionally, they have little room setups with couches, pillows, etc nicely arranged. It's very well organized and makes it easy to find things. Turn Style also carries larger furniture, such as couches and dining sets. They all seem to be in nice condition. While I've never shopped for clothes or brought items in for consignment, I did notice that they have many racks of clothing for sale that look nice! Staff seem nice enough and parking is easy. I recently moved to Burnsville and stopped to consign items with this location.. they barely took anything! Things that were denied were... pictures with gold frames "gold isn't in anymore" what? Lamps, pillows some designer. To name a few. Weird. I walked around the store after and saw some junkie things on their floor. That's fine I won't be returning to consign. read more

I found a great blazer here once and I have found some fun kitchen items, and it can be fun to look around and see what you can find. I've definitely found some good deals. However, this last time I was in I was seriously looking for a kitchen table that I needed to seat a bunch of people at within the week, and I know that they have fairly cheap delivery so I started looking around the store. The good news was they had a lot of kitchen tables and chair sets to choose from, and the prices were pretty good. I found a table and chair set I liked and I asked the lady about delivery, which is my main concern. She was completely unhelpful. She asked me what I was interested in and I told her, and she said, "Well, that's going to be 10 pieces, and delivery is $60 with 5 pieces, and they consider chairs a piece." I just looked at her like, "hey, I'm about to get this huge lug of wood off your floor and you are not being very helpful." She then helpfully** told me that I could take some of the chairs in my car and then have just the table delivered. I asked if they could deliver by a certain day and she said that it was unlikely. She also said, "Well, I can call in the morning..." No, I'm not really wanting to wait all day to hear if this can be delivered in time. Now I need to figure out how to move chairs and a leaf and wait for your call that I don't think you will ever make. I personally think they lose money if they have to have stuff delivered so they try to passive aggressively suggest you pick the shit up yourself. Which is sort of bait and switch in my opinion. In any case, I got a huge dishonest vibe from her and I left with no furniture. I get that it is consignment so they are dealing with a bunch of different walks, but let's be nice to everyone and not just the people that you rip off. I thought it was interesting that this other lady came in and was asking her if she could sell her stuff somewhat desperately, and she said that she had other things that had been lost/ stolen before. The lady that worked there did not bat an eyeball when the lady was talking about her lost/stolen goods. It seemed very sketchy. If anything, they should try harder to prevent theft if that's a problem. I thought that this loyal consigner should have been treated better than she was as well. If your stuff is lost or stolen you should still get your share of the commission. Otherwise, what's to stop the workers from taking the stuff for free? It's all very unregulated and shady as hell. read more

Generally I love shopping here. But lately I've been more and more hesitant about consigning my things. Mysteriously some things (the most expensive ones) were not in the store and there was no credit for them on my account either. I've also witnessed a customer once who asked about one thing she consigned and the employee couldn't explain where it went... I felt so bad for that lady! She just said "ok" and left looking upset. I think the owners of this store need to get involved with every day operations, it's all very sketchy. read more

This is only for selling items at the store...don't do it! How did all the jewelry I had for sale either get stolen or had a broken clasp so they decided to donate it to another thrift store? Lesson learned, won't be back to buy or sell. read more

I like shopping for purses at the Burnsville Turn Style. They always have new ones out and it is hard to tell myself I don't need another purse. I also like it when there are sales or the coveted groupon deal. read more

Horrible service, lost my expensive wallet and tried to use someone else's to replace it. Then because of their error they told me I had to pick up my stuff early and couldn't consign there anymore. They were awful to work with , lied and didn't know what they were doing as a business. Gave me wrong information. Don't go there. The south dale one is better. read more

It seems like most all reviews from all different location around the Twin Cities, are mostly negative with really rude people working there...I brought in over 4 huge boxes and an antique chair...the 2 snotty gals said they only wanted 3 little Halloween or Christmas decorations...they were young and I guess nothing appealed to them..train your employees to consider all age groups that buy from you!! Anyway...I didn't want to haul it all home and asked several of the customers (that overheard the snotty girls talking to me) if they wanted any of my goodies...8-9 women scrambled up and took home some great merchandise that they were "just loving this" or "I wanted one of these"...some ladies offered me money...I said no.....EVERYTHING was gone in a few minutes......the store would have made some nice $$$ that day. won't be back....I now go to SAVERS where they appreciate me, and I love donating things to them. I've had problems with the Burnsville location. I was one of the first clients, brought clothing to them before they opened. I have had several items "lost". They all happen to be brand new items with price tags on them. I stopped to pick them up before they expired and no where to be found. Explanation given is lots of theft in their stores. In the past I had a not so nice employee get snippy with me when I asked what nappened to 2 new pairs of jeans with price tags on them. You feel vilolated anyway and then to have a rude young person tell you that's part of the contract, Turnstyle is not liable. That may be so but I have had too many things (all new) "lost". A little empathy and understanding would go a long way. I really do wonder what happens there. I'm probably not going to take stuff there anymore. Looking for a new consignment store. Before you take stuff to Turnstyle again I'd check to see if they all have the same owners. If so, run! read more

I have been shopping at the Burnsville location for 7 plus years and the store it is today is nothing like it was when I started going there. I also take a lot of my own stuff there and I HATE dealing with the ladies who work there. Like the stock, the employees have changed. I can deal with the ebbs and flows of stock but they need to have someone else doing the hiring. They are hiring noticeably younger employees. They are NOT nice. They make me feel like I am an inconvenience. You need me (us) ladies. We stock your store. They are also turning away classic looking items, items from Banana Republic but not turning away items from American Eagle and Hollister. But my biggest complaint is the quality of employees today January 2019 compared to 7 plus years ago. Professional has gone away. The "we wont take your items if they aren't on a hanger" is another big turn off. BIG turn off. I can go to Clothes Mentor and Turn Style. They realize the value of my items. Like I said, they need us! Stop treating your pipeline to stock like an inconvenience. I no longer shop here and will only take the items that Clothes Mentor, Once Upon a Child, Turn Style and Platos Closet wont take! read more
