My wife and me bought a house earlier this year through this realty firm…read more They were adequate, but I did run into some issues that will make me hesitate to recommend them to someone else. The upside is, there were no hiccups or issues with the process. We chose the house, the paperwork went on as planned, we closed on time, and all the nuts & bolts of the real estate transaction were done. We contacted a realtor with this agency, let them know what we were looking for, looked at some houses, chose one, and once we chose a house, they handled almost everything else until the closing (aside from me getting the mortgage approval from my credit union). Now for the downsides. First, the realtor was pretty tone-deaf to what we wanted and helping us find a house. When we went house-hunting, we sent our realtor a couple of listings we found online that we were interested in, and explained to her exactly what we were looking for in a house. She gave us a list of places she'd found that she said would also be of interest to us and much like the places we'd already chosen. We ended up buying a house we'd found ourselves before going out looking, and the day of going around looking at the houses she picked out was basically a waste, not a one of them was anything we'd even seriously consider. Every one she suggested was either way too small, way too expensive, or completely decrepit and falling apart. Our realtor was basically useless in the actual house-hunting process. Second, my Realtor also really pushed to make sure I went through their "preferred lender" for the mortgage, and I had to make a stand to insist that I was financing through my credit union. Once I'd made the offer to buy the house, she said that the pre-approval from my credit union should be replaced with "the one you're actually going to use, I'll put you in touch with our guy for that." I'd already been approved for a mortgage through my credit union, and that credit union promises to service the mortgage for the life of the loan. . .which means never having to deal with a new bank buying my mortgage. That's a pretty nice deal, especially since I've heard so many horror stories over the years about trouble when mortgages get sold. Yet, when I was ready to buy, my Realtor said they'd want a copy of the approval from "the bank you're actually going to use, so I'll get someone from our preferred lender to call you." I let her know I'd at least listen to the offer, but I was already approved through the Credit Union I already used. Sure enough, that evening I got a call from their "preferred" lender pressuring me to go through them, and promising to match whatever offer I got through anyone else. I listed the offer my credit union gave me, and was told I was being completely unreasonable in asking that they service the mortgage for the life of the loan, that "everyone" sells all their mortgages and that was a non-negotiable part of being a homeowner. Their "preferred" lender was NOT happy that I was using my credit union and seemed upset that I considered dealing with the same lender the whole time to be an important factor in selecting a lender. . .he seemed to think that interest rate was the only real factor a buyer should think of. My realtor was also confused as to why I didn't go through him, I reminded her that I'd only said I'd listen to his offer. . .and I chose not to take it. She made it clear she felt it would be best if I work with him, not my credit union. I'm pretty sure that kind of pressure is inappropriate conduct for a realtor. . . .then as a follow-up after the close, a couple of months later I got someone knocking on the door, it was a different Realtor from Keller-Williams asking if I wanted to sell the house. Apparently they were REALLY wanting to sell houses in my neighborhood, so they were going door-to-door to drum up business asking people if they wanted to put their house on the market. I had to explain that I'd just closed on my house a few months ago. . .through them! They'd just helped me buy the house and we were still unpacking, so we definitely weren't going to sell. I didn't appreciate them coming back to the house a few months later to get me to sell the house I'd just bought to drum up more business for them.

Had a terrible experience trying to purchase a home through them. Had accepted counter offer from…read moreseller and signed contract when agent brought sellers another offer that they accepted without giving us an opportunity to match or beat that offer. Brokers response to us was." we represent the sellers, not you. They are our fiduciary responsibility." Had been negotiating for a week and had financing and everything ready to go. I will never recommend them.
