I tried them last year and found it too pricy…read more But then as I went around to other places in town, I just kept thinking about this workout format and the way I felt after doing some of the workouts. I did a trial run earlier this summer, and just bit the bullet and joined after that. As a result, Ive been to this studio a number of times recently, I found tis location to be perfect some days. Its much smaller than the Tonawanda location, which is good and bad. Good because there are fewer people in each class, bad because its often full for each class. Ive never been here with more than one instructor, and at Tonawanda's there is almost always 2, if not three but I imagine that has to do with size of class. The format is this - They create 6 workouts (Mon-Sat) which they then do for 4 weeks. Each workout is designed to hit different areas of the body, and some days have more weight and less cardio than others, they mix it up. Each class starts with the same tape to get everyone stretched out and ready for the next 50 min. Then there is a short cardio burst to get the blood flowing, and a longer section with some burpees or squats or whatever they think of. Then you pay attention while the instructor shows you what each exercise of the day is. By week four those demos don't take quite as long, but they still cover them all each day, and show you the various different levels for each exercise. Well trained group of instructors. Then the class starts, usually that portion is between 22-25 min. as you go from exercise to exercise. There may be some sort of 3 min end exercise, they often involve squats Ive found. Then the same cool down tape plays and everyone does that. Class ends as the instructor brings everyone into the middle for a "tip of the day". Sometimes those are super interesting, other times they are so-so. I don't think those are spelled out from corporate, I think they make them up themselves, which could explain why some are better than others. They have improved their website experience by joining mindbody, so that's nice. There is another location coming in Cheektowaga this fall. I look forward to checking that out too. This place is the home of the "6 weeks 20 lbs" challenge, and you'll have challengers in most classes. I cannot stress enough how much support these people get from the instructors and members in their goals. Most hit the goals if they show up to class and follow the diet plan. Each week we do different exercises utilizing kettle bells, bands, dumbells and bodyweight. My friend and I like it so much we have signed up for the next round of Buffalo Meltdown. This one is for 8 weeks with a similar theme. Love the fact they have these weekly events to sign up for or you can sign up for a yearly membership. The only downside for me personally is I live in Tonawanda so the drive is a little far. So far once a week is totally worth it to get out and moving!

Victor's skillset is very rare to happen across. He has a Masters in Exercise and Nutrition Sciences from UB's School of Public Health and Health Professions (where I happen to work in another dept - and I understand that the ENS program is an excellent one). Victor also has an accomplished background in body building (note: the gym is not a body building gym, rather it is family friendly and very welcoming for clients with health challenges). I've had some very challenging exercise related restrictions to work around, and I never expected the results that we have achieved to date. I doubted that I would ever be able to work out in a meaningful way again but Victor worked with me to find a path towards a sustainable fitness plan. Additionally, my two sons work out with Victor. To them, exercise is not a boring chore, rather they view it as a challenge that can be enjoyable and not lacking in creativity. I noticed the other two complaints posted as Yelp reviews. For my part, Victor has always responded to my inquiries in a timely fashion. He's been every bit a conscientious business owner. It is a shame that those reviews may prevent others from discovering this wonderful gym.

Kelly, the owner, answered all of my questions quickly and efficiently. She made me feel comfortable to go to my first class and work out hard enough that I hurt for a good week and a half afterward. Seriously, I didn't think I had abs. Surprise! They hurt. I've really enjoyed every class I've gone to. The pricing is great and classes are so easy to register for online. The interior is cleaned regularly and the workout room is huge with high ceilings. It's never too hot in there, the music system is loud and enjoyable and I love that Kelly and the other trainers will work you until you physically cannot. But if you have any injuries or problem areas, they will work around it for you and adjust the workout accordingly. Highly recommend!

We do everything from gentle stretching sessions, to intense workouts. I've come to her with a lot of muscle complaints and with her physical therapy background she's given me amazing stretches that I can do at home. in addition to her fun workouts, she also offers amazing Thai stretch sessions. I can't recommend this place enough!!!!
