Apparently 24 hours notice was not enough time to cancel an appointment! The gal at the front desk clearly told me I was not invited back because I did not make a 48 hour cancellation notice After experiencing an emergency that was beyond and out of my control over the weekend. My appointment was on Tuesday! There was absolutely no understanding no forgiveness whether I am disabled which I am or not whether I'm young or elderly.. this 48 hour cancellation notice is absurd! If you're ever curious about checking this makers space out, they have tours every Saturday at 1pm. It's an amazing facility. The building opened in 2022 and it was made just for them so it's a huge upgrade from their previous location, where they were for 11 years. They now have an open floor plan with high ceilings and lots of natural light along with 20+ machines available. From laser cutters/engravers to water jets and 3D printers, the resources they offer are mind blowing. Fab Lab Tulsa is one of 1500+ MIT-chartered Fab Labs in 90+ countries and the first in the southeastern region of the U.S. (that's right, not even Dallas has one). Aside from the studio on the first floor, they have a metal lab and a wood lab, each with 10+ machines available. Both labs have a minimum age and require PPE to be worn at all times. The second floor has classrooms and a conference room. They have a membership model with lots of options depending on how many hours per month you'd like to have as well as what room. The pricing starts at $39 a month, which sounds like an incredible deal since you get to use machines that are $30-60k. Classes are also available for signup on their website along with education programming for kids. They have a couple of workforce initiatives as well. This is a huge asset in our community!

All and donation centers are closed on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. They accept gently used clothing and household items in saleable condition. They do not accept furniture. Check out the list of items they accept and don't accept. Goodwill is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable nonprofit organization. Donations in good condition are tax deductible. After you drop off your donations, Goodwill takes them to their processing center to sort and ship to a Goodwill Tulsa store. Shoppers then buy these items. The sales support jobs, job training and job placement services that they provide which enable people to improve their lives through the power of work. When you donate, you are also doing your part to help the environment: they reuse and recycle items that would otherwise go into the landfill.
