Bill's Hot Dogs Of Greenville - I ordered 2 hot dogs all the way and chilli cheese fries. I have never in my life seen chilli look this disgusting.

On my first (and probably only) trip to Bill's, I ordered the hot dog combo with fries and a…read morebottled Pepsi. I was excited to see them frying the Eastern North Carolina classic Brightleaf hot dog to us as a base for their dog. The fries were also made fresh, fried right in front of me. The ladies that work in the restaurant are really kind and very helpful. When I got to the car and realized there was no chili on my hotdog, I took them back in and they gladly remade them for me. The fries were top-notch--hot, crispy and perfectly seasoned. They were addicting and delicious! This was the first time in a long time that I drank Pepsi in the glass bottle. It was as good as I remembered, if not better. It was a perfect complement to the fries. Unfortunately, the hot dogs were not what I expected. The hot dog was cooked well and mustard was quality and out on the dogs in just the right amount. The big disappointment was the chili, this is the second restaurant in Greenville I've been to where the chili has no detectable meat and is more like a watery bean puree. Though it is flavorful, it didn't make the hot dog complete and leaves much to be desired in the realm of texture and flavor. I don't know if this is a regional-style of chili, but it is not a traditional chili. While many seem to enjoy it, I don't think it's for me. Hence, I won't be returning for the dogs and admit its a bit too far out of my way for an order of fries and a Pepsi.

Really good dogs with a local history. Definitely worth a try. Make sure to get the unique chili.read more

Was in town for a soccer id camp with my 16 year old, on way out of town found this place from…read morereviews. Atmosphere was that of a fun college dive bar. From the parts I got to see inside was small table seating around the bar. We got lucky to sit in at the outdoor covered patio seating which was great minus perhaps some outdoor heaters to warm it up a bit. Service was good overall. Servers were fun and helpful. Service a bit slow on our drink refills but the food running and table bussing was fast. Food was great, wished I had taken pics to share. Menu consisted of a good selection of apps, sandwiches, burgers and sides. Everything we tried was great. Chicken nachos were awesome, wish they had been a bit bigger but the topping portions was perfect and the taste amazing. The Cuban and fried pork chop sandwiches were again great and the spicy sweet potato fries were so good. Potion sizes were good and the food tasty. The nachos and spicy sweet potato fries were my faves. While probably not the place for young families, this was a hidden gem and fantastic find. Not really for those in wheelchairs as it is tight getting through the bar area, but there was a small ramp I recall. Bathrooms could use some work, about what you'd expect at your local dive bar but only a single stall and could be cleaner. Highly recommend this place.
