Spectacular. This is the only word that can describe Tuk Tuk.
The food is actually rather good. Fresh and well prepared, if not spectacular. Do try the oddly named Crispy Cream special.
The ambience is quite nice. Cute, clean, and comfortable. Nothing spectacular.
Prices are reasonable (for a pricey touristy town) and the place is conveniently located.
So what, you may ask, is spectacular? Why, the service of course. Never before has curmudgeonly churlishness been so established as a brand. We heard rumor of the 'grouchy' patron, but stories are no match for the reality of the gruff old dude arguing over coconut cream versus coconut milk. From feeling like your presence is an inconvenience, to being told in a wonderfully dismissive tone that they can't cook the fish on the menu, you'll feel right at home the entire evening.
Step aside Basil Fawlty, there's a new sheriff in town. They food may be great, but it's the service that will truly make you wish you'd stayed in and ordered fish n chips. read more
