My family and I had a number of Indian dishes that were delicious! Butter Chicken. Chicken Tiki Masala. Samosas. Garlic Naan. All fabulous!

We ate dinner here and had a perfect view of the beach from our window table. We both ordered ginger chicken, it was good but could have used a little more ginger flavor, but, the presentation was like a work of art and brought to our table by the coolest robot. Their reservation policy is a bit confusing. We called in late afternoon and were told they weren't taking reservations but we'd be fine to walk in at 7. Got there and found a queue including people with reservations! Apparently they take reservations until they are half full and then leave the rest for walk-ins. Strange but was OK as we didn't wait long and it was certainly worth waiting for! Very friendly staff including manager, who kept apologising for the misunderstanding on the reservation, even though it wasn't a big issue. My wife had Thai food and really enjoyed it. I went Indian - veg. samosas, hot goat vindaloo and kashmiri nan were excellent and all washed down with a couple of drought Kingfishers. Definitely recommended. read more

So good we came here twice! Would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food at a great price. As two vegetarians traveling and not wanting to just eat fried chips for 2 weeks this place was a gift. The Indian food was delicious and filling and we both were thrilled with our first meal here. This place is amazing! I tried the yellow curry and the chicken saag and got a side order of garlic naan. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, and I don't think you could go wrong with any option here. This was our first night in New Zealand. :D Absolutely loved how casual this country was! We stopped by at Green's since we wanted some nice thai food. This restaurant was nice and cozy. It was definitely crowded, must be popular among locals. We got a nice table with a view of the ocean. They had thai food and Indian food. Our server informed us about the other indian place they owned down the street where they cooked all their Indian food. We decided to go check it out the next day for lunch. Our server was really nice and friendly. We told him we wanted the spicy basil curry with a side of steamed rice. We told him we would like our entree to have extra sauce and that's how they serve it in California. He was super accommodating and told us that he would have them make it exactly how we like it. The food was good. We did have to ask for the extra sauce since it still was pretty dry. Overall, good food though. We tried Indian food the next day. It was absolutely delicious. We ordered Kadai Paneer and Garlic Naan. It came with rice. The Naan and curry was absolutely delicious. I found the Paneer a bit more spicier than what I can handle, but my husband absolutely loved it. I would totally recommend this place. Paihia is a small town and we did not have difficulty finding parking. read more

Delicious. The best Indian food in town. Good atmosphere and service when dining in, and they do takeout. We have tried quite a few dishes on the menu and never been disappointed, my personal favourites are the paneer makhani and korma. They have a Thai menu as well which I have not tried, because the Indian is just too good, but friends have had the Thai and been impressed. read more

I don't normally trust restaurants with just two prior reviews, but decided to give Greens a shot. We ordered a butter chicken and a black daal (both medium spice level). Butter chicken came out not spicy at all, and incredibly sweet - tasting like a bunch of sugar was added to the sauce. Daal had zero spice to it and tasted very plain. The chicken could not really be rescued, but we were able to get the lentils spiced up and improved. Service was good, and our waiter very attentive. read more

Do not get me wrong, food was delicious we ordered the butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala, both were quite tasty, but as we were finishing out drinks a cockroach came crawling up the pillar that our table was next to, when we informed the host upon paying our bill he nonchalantly brushed it off as if it may be a common problem. read more

One of the few places I've ever been handed two separate menus. One is for Thai the other is for Indian. Excellent food and quickly served. However as the place got more and more busy, it got filled with smoke. It was almost as if the exhaust fans weren't able to keep up. In the end I had to get up and go outside while my better half paid the bill. But this is a problem that can be solved as the food is already quite up to par. read more

Wow! This place is awesome! Fantastic food. Great service. And an unbelievable view of the Bay of Islands. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The Masaman curry was perhaps the best we've ever had. They will make food to suit your personal dietary needs. They also attend to the details; for example, the garnishes are fresh. This is our favorite restaurant in Paihia.
