Found this Park to play pickleball and enjoyed the courts, environment and people. They have four courts and lighting in evening/nighttime. For the three occasions I've been here, I've only come in the morning. The wait time for the courts wasn't too bad, honestly it's the perfect amount of time to rest. I usually sit on the ground but you can totally bring chairs and line it up on the fence away from the courts. Queue up your paddle in the paddle holders near the court too. Overall the people here were really friendly and I would come back in the future. For parking, there's a small lot or you can park residential. They have porta potties on the left side of the courts in the parking lot which is convenient. I would say this is the best pickleball court to go to in the Brea/Fullerton and Placentia area. read more

We went there to play pickle ball and it was great park and plenty of courts available. I definitely enjoyed it.

I LOVE playing Pickleball here :) They have 4 courts that free play all day, 2 Advanced and 2 Intermediate/Beginner courts. You will easily find players to join your game. Each game is a rotation of players. It can get super packed in the evenings. But everyone is so friendly and fun. I really enjoy the vibe here. There is no seating, so you may want to bring your own portable chair, or if you are ok standing. Plenty of parking on the street. It's a pretty tight space if there are Tennis players playing at the adjacent court. Thank you Tuffree Park for offering free PickleBall courts. read more

Cute park with an updated playground right next to the baseball field. There are also pickleball courts and a tennis court nearby. Many people seem to walk around the park and the fields in the mornings. People walk their dogs here as well. Parking can be limited. If you come during a baseball game you're out of luck with parking even in the neighborhood. read more

tl,dr: given the modern times and my high standards, this park was frustrating. Likes: + 4 public pickleball courts (meaning no reservation needed), 3 of which are open play. + Restrooms have paper towels. Non-likes: - Their fourth pball court is a challenge court. This makes it harder to enjoy many rec play matches, given how quickly popular this sport is becoming. - Not much separation between adjacent pball courts, so there're a lotta ball-on interferences. - No sun shade or rain shelter over these pball courts. - Awkward narrow 1-way parking alley. - The water pressure of the drinking fountain is too weak. Too dirty; I couldn't drink from it. - No water bottle refill station. - I had to leave the park because I ran out of water even though I wanted to keep playing. read more

Pickleball court is great 5 stars People who play there 1/5 stars. If youre a beginner some of the old male players will criticize you for being new and for having fun. Google reviews say how mean these people can be but i didnt think it was true until the other day. If you want to play and not deal w crappy mean players, just bring 4 players. My friend took me here go play pickle ball for the first time on a Friday night. There were 4 full pickleball court. The courts were nice, the lights were bright and working. There's spots for you to put your paddles to call next. Had a fun time playing pickup games. There's empty courts on the other side for you to practice. Definitely coming back, bring a chair. read more

If you want to play tennis here, forget it. The pickleball people on the adjacent court set up chairs and stand ON the tennis court. Totally UNSAFE because their backs are to you! They had their kids sitting on the tennis court doing homework so not even watching for incoming balls! Kids Friendly: new playground nearby, kids old enough to play games are best, or come during the off hours(1pm-4pm) to play on a court for "practice only", tennis court is normally empty with nets for messing around/practice, but priority goes to tennis players if they are there. Bathrooms: Yes, dirty, but functional Water Fountain: Not maintained, I wouldn't, CVS and 99cent stores nearby If you are in the Brea/Placentia/Fullerton Area, this is the best park you can go to for "pickup" Pickleball games. Great group of people who come pretty much every day during the week, gotten to know a lot of fun people just by going on a regular basis. The courts mostly being for pickup games, there are not enough courts for it to be your own personal space, if a court is free, go for it, but if there are no open courts, you stack your paddle in the queue on the fence, if you are hogging a court, you will be kicked off, because that is what is fair, other people are waiting, an average pickleball game takes 10-15 minutes, that is how much time you should have on the court before you need to re-queue. It is a very fair system, and moves really fast. If you are on a court, keep an eye on the queue for your court, if a paddle is placed, it is time to start your game soon. Most of the bad reviews I see here are stemming from a lack of queuing knowledge, there is no claiming a court, there aren't enough courts to supply the community, so we all have to share, and take turns. It is important that your place your paddle in the queue, if you don't it is assumed you are not waiting on that court, this is applicable to EVERY park, the only thing that differs park-to-park is HOW the queuing system works. If anything, the city should be doing more to add courts, but sadly, Placentia, Yorba Linda and Brea have yet to add more than four courts at a single park. If you have a group of 4 players, and wish to stay together, I would recommend a different park, Tuffree is the best "pickup" park, but if you have a group already, you will get more playing time at Box Canyon, or Vista Del Verde parks nearby. Those parks have less courts, and that is why it is kind of a "bring your own friends" place. But courts are also shared with a basketball court. Courts 2, 3, and 4, are normal play, which means the next 4 players in the queue for that court will play the next game. Court 1 is a challenge court, winners stays on, up to 3 wins, and the queue advances by 2 players each. There are two types of people on the courts, those looking for recreational games, and those looking for competitive games. The normal courts will be played by whoever is queued up, these are mostly recreational. The challenge court is there to allow people looking for a tougher match up, and are willing to sacrifice the number of games played(because it increments by 2), in search of getting a higher level of play, thus a competitive game. read more

Tuffree is a great place to play pickleball. The majority of us who play there know the rules and allow everyone to play. Beginners to high level players. Unfortunately the city has not installed the rule signs and new players would think there are no rules. The courts open at 8am and we should explain the court rules to all new players. read more

Great place to play pickleball in a family friendly atmosphere but while still being able to find excellent competition if you are looking for it. Tuffree courts are open play with a 1 game limit if people are waiting. This is pickleball community-based play and court maintenance. Players blow/sweep off the courts after wind and we dry the courts after rain. Court improvements (nets, windscreen, etc.) have been paid for by fundraising coordinated by a large group of dedicated players (Placentia Pickleball on Facebook). Play starts promptly at 8 AM, not earlier, per the City website for the park. Crowded (16 people on four courts plus as many as 16-25 people waiting) on weekends and on weekdays before about 11 AM. There is a challenge court in effect until all courts have 4 or more people waiting to play, then it reverts to 4 on, 4 off at the conclusion of each game. I have played with kids as young as 6th grade and people as old as 80+ all in the same day. Off hours (afternoons) are a good time to learn the game or to practice, not when 30-40 people are trying to play on only 4 courts. This is not the place to play if you expect to come and park yourself on a court for an hour or so when everyone else is abiding by the open play/1 game limit policy that is common on public courts. read more

Great group of people and fun games for all skill levels. I've played at several different parks and found this to be one of the friendliest. The only way I could see someone being frustrated is if they didn't understand the paddle system. If you are unfamiliar with it just ask, everyone I've met there is super cool. Absolutely toxic professional amateur gang of pickleball players. Went with my son at 8am, first time visit and wanted to introduce him to the sport and practice. There's 4 courts. Got the last court. Thinking it's a public park court and not an HOA/private court figured it'd be okay to take my young son. I guess I was wrong. I was harassed the whole 30 mins I was there to get off the court, when I was there first. My son and I were kicked off the full court and had to play half court. And I was threatened physically by a guy who wanted to force us off the court because it is popular courts and they have their professional amateurs there wanting to play amateur competitive games. Made my son hate the first trip and our first experience with the "pickleball community". He never wants to return, and frankly neither do I. The courts are a public resource, and as such there are no specific rules we have to follow. While introducing my son to the sport he shouldn't be forced into joining their competitive games or rotating in or whatever they think they run there. I'm giving Placentia Pickleball a great rating! When Tustin Pickleball was closed they opened us with open arms. Everyone is allowed to challenge anyone to a match. If you're not at the at the right level, you can move down a court. Come 8:00-11:00 am you are able to pick up some games. read more

I agree that this place is absolutely toxic. The rules seem to only apply to those that are not regular players. When we arrived a group was just standing on the court not wanting to give the court up. Finally when no one else would play since they had been playing for hours. We finally got the court. Then as we started playing, a group walks up wanting to play as well. An older lady said "she runs this pickleball area" and would help the players out. I'm sorry. I thought this was a public area. How do you "run" a public space that is open for everyone. Then she proceeds to try and kick us off the court. Keep in mind, others have been there way longer than us. Why do we have to get off the court when others have been playing game after game, hour after hour (as stated by a man when asked by the lady and the group if he wanted to play again). When we exclaimed we had just gotten there, she told the group that some people seem to have attitude. I just don't understand the entitlement of some people. It's pickleball for crying out loud. It's not that deep. If the rules apply to one, they should apply to all. read more
