Installation crew using nails longer than needed for the shingles. Every nail was protruding through the ceiling and when I brought it up to the area manager, he claims that's normal and even the models shown at the local stores all have them. I understand a few nails here and there around the studs and frame but millions through the ceiling was uncalled for. I sent videos and pictures to John Silva the manager, only to be ignored now that the videos show no nails through the ceilings of the model sheds. read more

Installers were great. However the order was incorrect, so the installers had to leave what was correct on the order and reschedule. I was never able to reach the scheduler and the person answering the phone did not have access to the schedule. I had to cancel plans to accommodate them once again. I requested some sort of compensation for my inconvenience.....twice. It never happened. Stephanie from the Visalia office was very kind and helpful. Holidays rolled around only making my clutter in my garage an eye sore... Came to Tuff Shed and spoke with Shyanna, she was friendly and made us feel like we were heard. 5/22/15: Truly touched by the efforts of the manager, Josh, who reached out to me yesterday. He came by again today and worked for several hours on the shed. He took full responsibility for the experience I'd had earlier and MORE THAN made it right in every way. He personally painted the shed again from top to bottom and improved upon fixes that were done earlier. He even fixed little things that I didn't care about just to make it right. He was gracious with an EXCEPTIONALLY positive attitude and will take away from the experience and pour into his vendors to help them do a better job overall. He actually thanked me for my review. And, let me just say here, that is just exactly what I would have wanted, that folks with take it to hart and train up! I don't know now that I would have changed a thing if only to see this individual step up the plate to improve the company. Josh also left peg board, extra trim for the other shed that was showing wear (due to age). There was also an adjustment made for my trouble. We all blow it and fall short. Sometimes folks, and companies, just have a bad day doing what they do, but when that happens and folks reach out it's all about taking responsibly and making it right. So it's with this in mind that I again thank you, Josh (Tuff Shed) for the personal service and your effort that reflects more of what one might do for a family member than a customer. Bought two sheds in 2009. Still look like new today. Lost a trim piece putting in a ramp. Gave up looking for it. Drove out to Tuff Shed to buy a new piece. Guys in the showroom said that's too bad, here's a new piece, NO CHARGE! read more

My Wife ordered an 8' x 12' Tuff Shed from The Home Depot for my 40th birthday Gift. They delivered it, Constructed it, and painted it all today in about 4 hours. They did a great job on the construction of the Tuff Shed and being friendly. But, I'm not so happy about them leaving several large spots of paint on my lawn. It will probably take a few months for those spots of grass to grow back leaving an eye sore for now. I would only hope they use a drop cloth at their next site and save that home own an eye sore! read more

My Tuff Shed installation left me disappointed and frustrated. What was supposed to be a 3 day turnaround turned into a month long ordeal. The shed was very poorly built and in the end I was asked to complete repairs myself. I'm left with a damaged and flawed product. Here's more details if you're interested: The install crew that showed up was missing some tools needed to complete the install, and the shed itself was missing some pieces. They chose to try and install it anyway which left me with a poorly built shed that was missing pieces. I opened a warranty claim and the office sent the same contractors out for the repairs. Some repairs were made, other additional problems were created, mostly due to them not bringing sufficient tools for a second time. In fact I loaned them some of my tools and they took one with them when they left (on accident). A different crew showed up for the second round of repairs, they also did not have the proper tools and left without doing any repairs. This crew remarked that the original installers did a very poor job and that I'd be right to be upset. The assistant manager took up the case and we spoke on the phone a couple times. Ultimately he asked me to complete the remaining repairs myself and I was told I would receive a refund of $22 (which I never received). I completed the remaining work on the shed and fixed what could be fixed. At this point I'm left with a sub-par product, which I have had to invest my time and additional money into. Everyone at Tuff Shed and the contractors were friendly and seemed to genuinely want to help. However, for all their good intentions they fell short on their quality of work. Then when it was up to the assistant manager to make things right he also fell short. If my company failed a client to this degree I would offer them a full refund. The $22 refund I was offered was pretty much meaningless, and the fact that I never received it just solidified their failure. read more

From sales installation to follow up after the shed was installed they have been a model of what businesses should be like. They came to my house to make sure everything would work, showed up on time for install and helped me out after the sale was completed. I would recommend the service side of the company in a heartbeat. As for the product itself it appears to be a quality build. Only time will tell. We went to Tuff Shed in Fresno on S. Sara and were assisted by Michael Lewis... he seemed nice and friendly but sadly he outright LIED to us. When we came in we knew exactly what we wanted. I had been playing around with the online simulator via the Home Depot website and he said " I don't have access to those quotes, we'll have to start over" that was fine. I thought the quote seemed high but he assured us we were getting the BEST POSSIBLE DEAL! When we left it just wasn't sitting right so I went back online to the Home Depot site.. it was over $1200.00 cheaper, the next day I called to inquire with Home Depot to make sure they were the same, they told me the walls were different it would be $132, and the floors would be $78 and then it would be 100% the same. So I called Michael back. He was cocky and insisted it was different because of the walls and the roof, I explained I was aware and of the small price to bring them up to the same, his response was a cocky laugh and a very rude " So what do you want me to do then?" I advised him to cancel my order and he said well let me pull up their quote... apparently he had access the whole time. Save your time and money. Go to someone who cares about you not their own well-being and pocketbook! read more

He told me the order would take 6-8 weeks and three months later he still didn't have the permits. He kept telling me we could cancel at anytime. Who would lose a 7,500 sale? My Tuff shed, installed in 2006, purchased through Home Depot, is still standing and in great condition. Recently, while playing ball one of my grandsons broke the glass on my skylight. I placed a call to Tuff Shed, Fresno and spoke to Tony. He advised me of replacement costs. He also advised me of possible less cost at Home Depot. So, I bought a skylight at Home Depot. Turns out it did not fit. So, I called Tony. Next thing I know a worker was sent out and was able to install the skylight I purchased from Home Depot!!! Great and quick service! Poor Communication Stay away from their sales Rep Jeff . 45 minutes late for signing appointment and didn't even bother to call. Submitted all paperwork and did not hear anything for a week. I finally called the following Monday and no one at the Fresno office could help me. I had to wait for Jeff to call me back which was the following day and turns out there was a problem with a form. He didn't apologize about not getting in touch with me sooner or even try to fix the problem. I told them to keep their shed. If you check out glassdoor.com and look up Tuff Shed or just google Tuff Shed complaints / reviews you will easily find countless complaints like mine about their poor service and poor craftsmanship. If you have to have a "Tuff Shed" save yourself some money and a headache BUY it through Home Depot . I got a super deluxe shed including Paint, shelving, vents, upgraded flooring and double doors for the same price I was going to pay for a stripped down box from the Tuff Shed Store!! read more

I love the new tough shed , but it was installed by putting pieces of wood all around the bottom metal portion to level it out. It was purposely put on a piece of land I thought was level and had it not been, I was willing to have concrete poured. I would have also leveled it to the degree it needed to be, but was not told by the "crew" that installed it to do so. It looks silly frankly and my neighbors agree! I was looking forward to my Tuff Shed. Saved my money and visited your Fresno, CA store. My experience was very positive and the salesman was wonderful. I was told that everything would be completed by May. This was great! Then it started raining and didn't let up. No worries, storm repair and flood damage repairs were priorities. Finally, the plans were approved and the building permit was issued. The concrete was poured, approved and construction was ready to start in June. A bit behind schedule, but not that bad. Then things turned bizarre. The crew was late arriving to start construction. I was told that they had to detour to another highway to avoid the CHP weigh station. Apparently the trailer was not properly licensed. So construction finally started. Day one was not positive. After the walls and roof were put on, a construction member noticed that the anchor bolts were too short. So construction halted and I was called by the foreman and told that the concrete had to be ripped out and I had to start over. This was unacceptable, partically since the building inspector and a Tuff Shed employee approved the site prior to construction. Your foreman had to be told to fix the problem and go forward by me and my husband . This took another two months. It turned out that nothing was mentioned on the plans that the concrete contractor followed that were blessed by the county and your company. Sadly, the foreman would not speak to me only my husband. I found this to be disrespectful and unprofessional. I picked the building, signed the contract and paid your company. (My husband got in trouble with me for allowing this outrageous behavior. He had to tell the foreman more than once to speak to me.) In late August, construction resumed, more than nine months after I signed the contract. Then things got worse. I should have halted construction at this point, but I wanted the job completed. I visited the Fresno office to see when my shed was going to be completed since no one was communicating with me. Painting started, but the building was not completely caulked nor the windows or trim were taped off. The stain was rolled on. What a slop job. Stain on the windows and trim, the stain was applied unevenly with drips and runs everywhere. I was deeply disappointed. Another three weeks passed and the crew returned to finish up. Another mess. When you apply a second coat of stain, the color intensifies and deepens. The rest of the building was caulked, but white caulk meant the new coat of stain didn't cover the white caulk and it bled through. Of course, the windows and trim were not taped an protected. More stain was slipped on these surfaces. The worker wiped caulk from his hand on the trim. More uneven stain application, runs and drips everywhere. Stain was dropped on the concrete. Of course, I was called when the foreman pulled the worker from my job to another job. I was still optimistic when I got home and was devasted and furious and what I found. One bucket of stain was left open with a roller still the bucket holding the lid partically open. The bucket was closed, but the dirty brush and rollers were left on the floor and still wet with stain. I called your company and issued another complaint and fired your company. The next morning the foreman called me. However, he told me to hang on while he hollered at someone. I hung up as I was at work. I called him back at my break. Now he wants to know what he do to fix the problem. I fired your company a second time in 24 hours. Two weeks after this, I drove to your Fresno site and paid the final bill, more than 10 months after the contract was signed. I believe in honoring contracts. Something I am not convinced is important to your staff at the Fresno site. I want to mention that your salesman's, Rufino, is a class act. I contacted him many times during the build and its disastrous conclusion. Also Tara did a fabulous job communicating helping me. Now I have a shed that is a mess. I will have to remove the caulking, repaint the walls and trim. The clean the windows. Finally, the stain, brushes and rollers will need to be disposed of at my expense. I have plans for more outbuildings, but I will contract with your competitor or a private contractor. Sincerely, A very frustrated and unsatisfied client. read more
