We just part exchanged a perfectly good car and have ended up with a heap of junk. The potential repair bill for the lemon we are now stuck with is looking higher than the car is worth. We bought a reasonably priced 4x4 to get us through winter, after getting the car home I found the following problems. Leaking heater matrix Back windows U/S 4X4 not engaging, over a £1500 to repair Front wheel bearings loose The above repairs would cost far more than the car is worth so unfortunately we will have to cut our losses and sell the thing for spares or repair in the new year when we have a bit more money. A "experienced" dealer should know better than to sell a car in this rubbish state, I feel especially miffed as the car we part exchanged was in very good condition. P.S. We were told by the owner that the car had 6 months tax, when I had already signed for the car and was ready for collection there was only 3 weeks. Without predudice. Complete conman, selling junk cars and fails to negociate the problem, now being left to trading standards and informing watchdog, its time this was brought out in open for all to see. the proprieter of Tudor Car Sales informs me the case is closed now and wont do nothing, and informs me he sold me this car as a private sale as his own car but hasnt been registered in his name in the past year,isnt this illegal to do or is this a ploy to avoid paying tax on profits made from the sale, he did give me a used car sales invoice with very small writing in the corner stating private sale, all seems rather illegal to me, perhaps you readers could comment on this, he is also now stating he will sue me for defamation of caracter for ripping me off, is there any justice in this world, i hope he suceeds and claims me for everything ive got including my rented accomodation, my mobility car, £65 per week sick pay, the only asset ive got is the shed of a car he sold me, oh and i am terminally ill, so good luck mate with your claim, Photographic neccessary work now being carried out include, Major overhaul of power steering, now not working, very expensive. Valve stem oil seals and gaskets due to excessive oil consumption and blowing smoke, V8 motor costing an arm and a leg. Severe Chassis outrigger corrosion hidden by some kind of sealant and looks like tyre wall black painted over covering it ! ,major repair work. Not good considering i paid £8900 cash for car (well my son did for me) Yet service book was stamped by Tudor Car Sales 700 miles ago must have been stamped without checking the car. £3,000 now spent on car for repairs and a further £2,700 needed to finish rest of repairs off. Well and truly conned !!! Also has been checked by proper garage who states the car should never been given an mot by Middlewich Mot Centre, was in a far to dangerous condition with major chassis corrosion hidden by filler, both steering rack boots rotted and torn with no fluid in the system. As a matter of fact you are wrong. By law, all cars sold by dealers have a 3 month warranty, and the buyer has a reasonable time to reject the car as faulty. Nothing the dealer does or says can alter that fact. There is case law for cars being successfully rejected after 2 years! read more
