Emotion should never be used when writing a review like Gergine, Mark and so many others below…read more it is not only insulting to those who actually perform conservation, but also undermines protection efforts and help for those animals they claim to care for. The 1800's and early 1900's were the times that we lost some species to extinction, with others becoming too close for comfort. This was not just due to the unregulated hunting, but also ignorance. This ignorance is both an irrational fear for animals like wolves and the grizzly, but also a lack of understanding just how to manage them. Keep in mind this was not just unregulated hunting, but also expansion of our cities that devastated habitat and other resources these animals require. These miscalculations force a scientific approach rather than an emotional one. In the early 1900's we started establishing conservation efforts that set aside critical wild areas that as I said we just tended to bulldoze knowingly and unknowingly. Protections also were put in place for most species. Many studies occurred, and conservation was born to include hunting as well. Since these were put into place ALL species benefited in terms of populations, health, etc. Safari Club has been helping conservation since its inception. While the USA is well ahead in the worlds conservation efforts, we really have no legal authority to force other countries to do the same. Many countries in Europe for example that were responsible for many extinctions we speak of. Enter Safari Club that presses conservation across lines we have no authority. They are a non profit, and funding received goes to the conservation efforts of animals across the world. While people are justified in attacking others who are irresponsible and kill with malicious intent such as poachers, what they fail to understand is that Safari Club goes after these people as well. Their approach to conservation is science and has been proven effective. Part of this fight even is against those like Mark who while seemingly caring for the well being of animals, tend to actually harm them because they fail to understand the science. So, rather than fight with emotion, I recommend people actually do some research for themselves. Stay away from the sites with a narrative or idealistic views, but instead look up the facts. The facts of populations through the centuries, cause for extinctions, and the programs in place that have actually helped every species on the planet. I think you will be surprised to learn some new things as well. I think most people care for animals, but caring is not enough. Like the tourists who picked up and placed that "freezing bison calf" in the back of their SUV in Yellowstone, then brought it to the Park Service. You can have a good heart and try to help, but fail to understand your action, and you kill the animal just like they did with this poor bison calf... It takes more than a heart. Don't be irresponsible by attacking the actual groups of people proven to help. Educate yourself and fight the right people.

To the left of the warehouse are grocery items to purchase. Most items are well below store prices. Between each of the sides, there are large boxes that may have stuffed animals, bottled beverages, pet supplies, and so on. The GAP Ministries takes both cash and SNAP cards. I have always found the staff to be polite and helpful. I'm truly grateful for this service.

Over the past number of years I have been heading into Beads of Courage (a local non-profit)…read morebecause I am passionate about their mission statement and vision, providing emotional support to both children and adolescents fighting challenging illnesses. The owner's concept of bringing joy to children who are ill through gifting them beads, raising money, and hosting events is creative, unique and inspirational. Their new spot on 1st is absolutely beautiful with studio and retail space. They also sell lovely handmade beads and other accessories to benefit children and their families. Recently, I went in for a fantastic workshop that was art therapeutic related and I had a great time. Snacks and beverages were served and spending time there was relaxing and I made some new friends! I highly recommend paying this non-profit a visit because their cause is so important and what they do for our Tucson community is invaluable.

I didn't know where their place was. The guy working was amazing and so nice. I wish we were in Tucson and could volunteer. Tickets are a bit hefty but the…read moreevent is well-organized with easy parking in the structure next door (Banner garage) but includes unlimited open bar and more than a dozen food stations ranging from Bata seared beef skewers; Reilly pizza; Desert Diamond short rib mac; Sonoran House bbq pork sliders; Hub ice cream... all unlimited as well. The silent auction had plenty of items too, from signed sports memorabilia; to vacation pkgs, jewelry, many gift cards, and even canvas reprints of Joe Pagac murals (which all went for more than retail). I just wished the silent auction wasn't entirely digital. I miss running around to check on the traditional clipboards beside each item to see who's outbid me. With the digital process you never get to know who your friendly competitors are and you don't get to see the bid history (trends or amounts) - merely the last bid. Call me old skool!

Seeing the building, the caring hearts- and so much love in this house was just amazing!

I have autistic children and instead of being on technology they now understand how to take care of animals and ride a horse. The graduates of the program are set up totally into personal housing with any and all donations welcomed to provide for these needs . ( Also was told luggage needed , call if more info needed & or pickup of donations needed) Happy to donate & support a valuable resource in our community .

I work with Tucson families who are pregnant or recently delivered a baby. I recently met with the children and family services coordinator who told me they take women and children and offer daycare to residents, in order to provide job training for interested women. Both men and women are offered services. On campus is an El rio health clinic so people could get health services. There's food available. There's places to sleep. There's an intake counter for people in need, look for the Welcome center building. The gospel rescue mission is always in need of volunteers to do various things. That's what is scary.
