Where is the choice for 6 stars? Or 10? I can't say enough about the amazing service and high quality of work I received from Amy Wall at Tucson Tax Team - and I am notoriously cranky when service and product quality don't meet my expectations, so it's a pretty high bar!
I found Tucson Tax Team by sheer luck right before April 15th. I needed a quick turnaround on several returns when my former preparer was suddenly unavailable. Amy not only carved out time in her schedule to help me - including continued work on some follow-up items, when most preparers are on a post-tax-day vacation! - she also educated me about some finer points of deductions that no other tax preparer in over 13 years of working with them had ever taught me.
I decided to also have her look at, and eventually file, some returns for my elderly mother that it turned out her previous (and more expensive!!) preparer had incorrectly decided she didn't need to file!
Amy was a joy to work with, patiently answering a ton of questions and responding quickly to some extra requests I added along the way (as I realized what a great resource she is!). She willingly accepted my financial information in whatever form it was in - which happened to be spreadsheets, though I think she meant it when she said she actually LIKES getting shoeboxes full of receipts! She seemed to enjoy the challenge of wrestling all my information into "tax-treatment submission."
She also patiently dealt with my resistance ;-) a couple of times when I was hoping for a different answer about expense deductions. Her guidance on these points differed from what I'd been told in the past, and (when she saw my shock and dismay) she went to the trouble to show me the relevant documentation.
All this with a fantastic attitude that said "No problem!" and "This is totally handled!" throughout the entire process. It's really clear that Amy's claim on the website that she LOVES doing taxes and working with the IRS is true! I never knew someone could be such an absolute pleasure to work with, and get things done correctly and speedily, while helping her clients understand and adhere to the exact IRS requirements for their situation.
I'm sure Mona is awesome to work with too, though I didn't have the occasion to work with her directly. I know she and Amy consulted on several complex issues that came up (with the number and range of weird questions I needed help with, I really put them through their paces!), to make sure they left no stone unturned in following the rules while guiding me to the best possible tax treatment.
I'm continuing to work with Amy to keep all my quarterly estimated business tax payment ducks in a row, which is very helpful as well.
Previous preparers have been professionally matter-of-fact at best - and somewhat detached, bemused and/or almost put-upon at worst. And most of them charged more! Tucson Tax Team's rates are extremely reasonable. Given the quality of their work, that is like the unexpected icing on the cake.
So - clearly, I'm hooked and won't look anywhere else for my tax preparation and guidance in the future! If you want an enthusiastic, fast, responsive, thorough, incredibly knowledgeable tax preparer who is committed to accuracy and protecting your butt, Amy is your gal, and this is the company to hire!!
Sorry this is so long (now you see what Amy had to deal with in preparing my returns!), but the whole experience was so good I want to make sure whatever aspect of my experience might matter to you, that you can know what to expect.
